Can't see a new thread??

OP posts:
CotswoldStrife · 21/10/2017 20:27

That was quite an outfit that Anton had on tonight. My DD said I had tears in my eyes but that was after his comment about not wanting to put the trousers on back to front!

Susan - not her best dance, Joe - fantastic shaping, Brian - um, not his best dance either, Gemma - love her, Debbie - I didn't think her hips were moving much but she did keep in constant motion otherwise. Simon - was he meant to look like Rupert Bears, what was that about?!

TheOneWithThePurpleWrapper · 21/10/2017 20:28

I voted for Debbie, Ruth, Johnie.

Im hoping enough people vote for Gemma to keep her in as well.

GrouchyKiwi · 21/10/2017 20:28

This is the original of Fit As A Fiddle. Dunno what the yellow was about, though.

KittyVonCatsington · 21/10/2017 20:28

Cotswold - I think Darcy was wiping away tears to that joke as well!!

That made me laugh as well.

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 21/10/2017 20:29

I think that was the dullest episode of Strictly I've seen for a looooong time. No wow factor from anyone really.

I keep forgetting Mollie is in it entirely - even when she's dancing.

I loved Alexandra's paso doble but am a little bored of her now.

On the plus side, I voted for Kevin for the first time ever! More shockingly, I wouldn't mind him and Susan winning - I think they are great together. Am also increasingly warming to Gemma and Aljaz and Debbie and Giovanni.

Am getting tired of Janette's choreography - even a waltz has to have loads of flinging around in it.

TheOneWithThePurpleWrapper · 21/10/2017 20:30

Ive absolutely no interest in her at all. She's a dancer. End of.

KittyVonCatsington · 21/10/2017 20:31

Maybe it's because Janette rarely get some beyond week 4 that she's throwing in every move she knows, while she can Smile

TSSDNCOP · 21/10/2017 20:35

Honestly I thought that was generally pants tonight. Crap music, meh routines and wtf was up with wardrobe and the yellow. For the first time ever I thought "has Strictly got to the end of the road?"

bookbook · 21/10/2017 20:35

Right, had to pop off, but caught up by taping and ff'ing. Loved Gemma, and Joe too- it is so nice to see a traditional paso, to proper music.
Johnnie was good, but I thought he went wrong in the corner with the jumpy steps ( technical term ......) .
I thought Alexandra was great , she moves so well.
I did love Anton's sleeves - but who took away his maracas? Grin

BalloonSlayer · 21/10/2017 20:35

Enjoyed tonight!

I got teary in Debbie's routine but could have been the song which I love and always makes me emotional.

Simon - thought Karen was employing the "he is a shit dancer do I will put in a load of crowd-pleasing bollocking in the hope of more votes from the TV audience" ploy.

Susan - not great but she looked very pretty with longer hair

Johnny - very twatty to call Shirley on her "spring in your step" comment. It's a common phrase/saying for someone with bounce/energy FGS. Gone right off him now.

TheOneWithThePurpleWrapper · 21/10/2017 20:41

Susan - not great but she looked very pretty with longer hair

Wasn't she just!

Slartybartfast · 21/10/2017 20:42

No way was johnny twatty

ChoccyJules · 21/10/2017 20:46

Johnny is presumably used to making quips about his leg, poor Shirl was mortified. Think it was just a misjudged clash.

CalmanOnSpeeddial · 21/10/2017 20:46

I voted twice for Susan and once for Alex because I love to see her dancing and she might be in trouble.

This is the week that really tells us who has the votes with that car crash leaderboard but I’m hoping that Simon ends up in the dance-off and going home.

KittyVonCatsington · 21/10/2017 20:47

Did anyone else pick on Alexandra's VT when she said she couldn't find a book in her house, so used a box of chocolates on her head?

TheOneWithThePurpleWrapper · 21/10/2017 20:49

Yes.

I think she's very good at showmanship. Or at least she thinks she is.

dementedma · 21/10/2017 20:50

I work with Veterans, many of them amputees and the black humour about body parts goes with the territory. However, the moment I told a triple amputee that our project had gone from simple beginnings and "grown arms and legs" will haunt me forever!!!!

CaveMum · 21/10/2017 20:58

I'm full of cold so probably grumpy and over-critical, but here we go:

Davood - quite flat-footed and knees very bent at times. Have to say I'm not loving Nadiya's choreography.
Mollie - lot of faff at the start & though her footwork looked a bit heavy at times. Nice but, meh.
Simon - very laboured and he was out of sync several times.
Debbie - thought she looked a bit unsteady at times, but nicely danced overall and a Devi tie improvement on last week.
Brian - eek! So flat-footed and lacking in energy.
Susan - erm, not sure what to think. Took too long to get going and thought her steps were too big and she lacked hip action. Still love her performance ability though.
Aston - bit too lyrical for my taste. Thought the few bits of proper Waltz had decent footwork but his shoulders were very fixed which meant he lost the sway.
Ruth - very stiff in the rolls, skippy in the volta's and she cocked the botafogo's right up! It did not bode well from the moment Anton's sleeves appeared.
Gemma - projects her eye-line too high and it's starting to bug me. Lots of emotion and nice footwork though.
Joe - good shaping and lots of Paso content. He's too nice to do a proper Paso face though! Loved the music.
Alexandra - good effort. To be picky her feet were a bit too far apart in the voltas and definitely agree with Shirley about needing to work her ankles.
Jonnie - liked that. Nicely in sync and travelled across the floor well. Also noticed a bit of sway too.

Not sure what they slipped into Craig's tea tonight but he was almost likeable at times!

scrabbler3 · 21/10/2017 21:02

They're recording the results show right now. I wish they'd broadcast it live! I'm sure BBC could commission a drama for the Sunday night slot.

Theromanempire · 21/10/2017 21:12

Just finished watching and I have watched every single episode since day 1 and I have NEVER seen Craig like he was tonight Shock I really warmed to him tonight! Maybe Bruno 'inhibits' him in some way Hmm anyway I did not miss Bruno at all, would be more than happy if he didn't come back!

TheSassyAssassin · 21/10/2017 21:21

Also just finished watching it. Agree with comments about Craig. He was fun tonight and more how he comes across when he is being interviewed elsewhere imho. Close scoring tonight. Yes to Simon being in bottom two with hopefully Brian joining him. Liked Debbie, Gamma & Jonnie best!

BalloonSlayer · 21/10/2017 21:21

Well they all have a part to play, don't they?

With Bruno missing there was a) a vacancy for some OTT comments and b) a bit more time for whatever comments you wanted to give.

Craig has just been playing "his" part; tonight he could step outside it a bit. I can't believe anyone truly believes he is genuinely curmudgeonly, it's just that SOMEONE has got to bring them down to earth.

TheSassyAssassin · 21/10/2017 21:22

Gemma....Halloween Hmm

dementedma · 21/10/2017 21:23

Bruno has become a caricature and the show was better without him
