Abi is actually quite a good actress. I seem to remember her being very good in a live episode. But every time I look at her I keep thinking doesnt she go out with a porn actor? Or did I dream that...

I like that they show that despite being a stereotypical benefits family on the outside they are good people. If only Keane was a little older! Nice to see them showing Shirl reach out to her.i think Bernie and Keanu have same Dad and I wonder if DV or something and that's why they are so close?

That was a significant scene with Bernie and Karen, completely undercut by the dross around it.

I think a lot of us will 'get' the emotion of Bernie and her loss, and the family's, and the things people say.

I think the programme tried to do 'juxtaposition' for effect - but when your main actors (Ian, Lauren, etc) are pretty much texting in their performances, it doesn't work. As for Linda's lines in the ambulance, dear bloody god. I wanted those chopper blades to shear off her bun once and for all.

Was pretty impressed by Karen and Bernadette. Made me well up when she was talking to the baby. Very well played, shame about the rest!

We just finished watching. Agree that the scenes with Bernie and Karen were superb and put everyone else to shame.

I also wonder if there the boy at school was a cover story as Keanu does seem very very over invested at times but then perhaps he just feels he has to be the 'man' of the family?

I think Keanu just feels responsible for them, there's no Dad on the scene & Karen isn't always the best mum

We did wonder if a drone was going hit the air ambulance (as in Casualty) and flatten the square (as the plane years ago in Emmerdale). To be honest, we were slightly disappointed it didn't
