Why would it be ridiculous for Ellie Simmonds to dance bejazzled? The US version had a competitor who has dwarfism and she seemed to manage fine

No reason in particular, but with a male partner ballroom hold would be awkward. I've only seen one couple where one partner had dwarfism.

They're a girl/girl couple and the height difference is only actually about 6 or 7 inches, but they decided to specialise in Latin early on because the difference in hip height was too great to have a ballroom hold that worked.

I'll have to go and see if I can see some clips of the DWTS couple, it would be interesting to see how they made it work. I think she always seems very nice, so it would be great to see her on the show.

SCD is a fun show. They are there to learn and entertain us and demonstrate that anyone can dance. I imagine that in professional circles the height difference would be an issue but it's just a bunch of folk having a go. Fingers crossed that Ellie has signed up.
