First one confirmed is Mollie King (the blonde one from The Saturday's)

Not sure when the next one will be announced, just hope it's not like last year where they dragged it out for weeks!

Interestingly Debbie is the only one whose Twitter account has not yet been verified (with the blue tick) but the BBC have used the account when referring to her. Also, she's just about to appear in Celeb Masterchef (tonight) so her fanbase might up a little bit before the start of SCD even.

I might have saved the spreadsheet so I can review and add the weekly figures easily and then we can do a totally geeky multi-line graph to see who is rising the fastest...

Strangely my mother, who is 92 and a huge Strictly fan only knows Alex Burke, Ruth Langsford and Debbie McGee. She gets a weekly TV mag though so will be reading up about the other contestants.

I like this year's lineup I'm excited for it to start as per Alexandra Burke I've always been a bit of a fan of hers but she can't dance for toffee she's so heavy footed

Also I was surprised that Ruth had over half a million, and also that Aston didn't have more...

I can defo make the future ones more colourful, but I don't know about glitter... leave it with me... (although maybe not today as I should do some work)

I was also surprised at the chef having so many followers. Not surprised by Ruth's numbers - I think This Morning and Loose Women have healthy watching figures and she comes across so well. Love the video of Rylan practising with her. He would be a great addition to Strictly.

How could I forget the ringer of ringers, Caroline Flack! Of course there's also Emma Bunton, Louise Redknapp and Kellie from Eastenders. As others have said there has to be a balance between those who can't dance and those who can move around a bit. If a good dancer comes across well we don't mind that they've had a bit of training.

Was the year Caroline won a weak year with the other contestants? I always think its personality and "journey" that wins in SCD rather than being the best dancer - Caroline had neither personality nor journey. Did she win with Pasha? Maybe the votes were for him!

Caroline beat Simon Webb and Frankie Bridge in her Final, and the series also had Jake Wood and Mark Wright who were both a revaluation, as well as ringer Pixie Lott, so I don't think it was a week series.

By the way, I'm not a font of SCD knowledge - Wikipedia is my friend

Oh yeah that was a strong year which makes it even more surprising that she won. Any of the ones you mentioned would have been worthy winners.

I didn't mind Caroline. It is very helpful to have little to no knowledge of the people taking part and I thought she danced beautifully. I'm also sure there was the Pasha Factor to consider.

But that year I'd have preferred Simon to win. He improved so much.

I really like Debbie, I don't begrudge her doing all the celeb things she can get so long as she doesn't do CBB. It's not like she's been a publicity whore all these years.

I know she's not the first person to lose a husband, but I always felt that she and Paul were insanely close, life must feel colder for her without him. I'd really like her to do well.

They were soulmates, soup, for sure.
