HA! DH just said something along very similar lines to me, re EE doing a "Dallas"! We thought about it independently, so it must be true Grin – then he went on to add the last six months could all have been one of Alfie's brain tumour induced hallucinations! (Been watching Kat & Alfie Redwater)

CorporalNobbyNobbs · 24/06/2017 14:50

Why wasn't anyone at Abi's party? None of her Vic colleagues, Dot, Jack, etc. It was just her housemates and randomers!

nancy75 · 24/06/2017 14:52

Yes as if Dot would have missed it, and sausage!

CorporalNobbyNobbs · 24/06/2017 14:52

Ooh new lookalike Ronnie as nanny/love interest. Rannie? Nonnie?

EwanWhosearmy · 24/06/2017 14:53

Venella great call Grin Dallas wake up please.

EnidButton · 24/06/2017 15:12

So glad we can talk about SOC being fired leaving to 'work on other projects.' He's apparently doing a film with Mark Gatiss. I couldn't think of a worse combination.

This is from Digital Spy. (With a but cut off the bottom about when SOC started etc.)

"A spokesperson for the show made the announcement late on Friday (June 23) that O'Connor was leaving EastEnders to work on the film project Handsome Brute with Doctor Who and Sherlock's Mark Gatiss.

O'Connor will be replaced on a temporary basis by John Yorke, who worked as a script editor on EastEnders in the 1990s and later took creative control as executive producer from 2000 until 2003. Yorke also oversaw the soap during the years he worked as BBC's head of drama.

"I've had an amazing time at EastEnders," Sean said in a statement. "Working with the editorial staff, cast and crew at Elstree has been an absolute privilege. They are the kindest, most loyal and hard-working team in the business. But my heart lies in feature films and I'm hugely excited as my film projects are now reaching production. When the BBC asked me to take over at EastEnders, my plan was to stay until the end of 2017 but with production starting on these films sooner than anticipated, I must – with a heavy heart – bid farewell to Albert Square. I'll enjoy watching EastEnders go from strength to strength but will miss everybody enormously. Elstree really is a place where you make friends for life."

BBC drama controller Piers Wenger also said: "I want to thank Sean on behalf of the BBC for the work he's done on EastEnders, and we wish him all the very best for the future.

"John Yorke is a creative force in the industry who is passionate about EastEnders, he brings a wealth of experience to the show and will ensure it's in safe hands while we start the process to recruit a permanent replacement."

New years day..2017 .
'Jack steps out of the hotel shower ...
Honey is with the children ..he hurries to dress just as Roxy and Ronnie run in..' Where you been ? I had a dream you both died' he mumbles.
'Charming ' says Roxy, ' ive just slept with your brother actually'
Ronnie grins ' we,ve been messing around and got locked in the pool , max had to rescue us, i went for a drink in the bar and fell asleep'
'So, your not dead then?' ' nah, jack, we're moving to ongar, remember? '
'Oh yeah, i guess we"ll have to move then ' hits head on hand.
That was some dream.

I hope Abi doesn't get pregnant. She is a great mix of immature, cunning, jealous, dim which makes her a dangerous character. I love how she thinks like her father but looks very similar to Tanya. Whoever cast her made an excellent choice.

Steven too is great.

EnidButton · 24/06/2017 22:58

I like Abi's character too. She's been developed really well over the years. You can see why she's the way she is and looks wise they got her spot on. Hopefully the new producer will put the brakes on any pregnancy plans. I think a lot of characters are spoilt when they get them pregnant. Once the baby arrives they don't seem to know what to do with them. Although Kim still works well with GBP.

Justanothersingledoutnumber · 25/06/2017 02:28

The new producer has so much work to do digging the show out of it's hole.

Ninarina · 25/06/2017 07:05

Hi I used to watch this religiously but so confused now. The last time I saw it Lauren was with Peter Beale. Can anyone (be bothered or kind enough) to explain what happened. I did Google but didn't find any real info. Where is Tanya meant to be? I cannot stand Lauren's facial expressions. She acts like she has facial tics and it's very bizarre and off putting. When I see those schoolgirl bullies giggling I want to punch the TV and I hate that Karen woman and her also weird way of talking. Also agree that Jack's kids shouldn't have gum. Also was Travis the one who Bex liked too? Hate the way she talks and sorry this is now classed as 'body shaming' but why are their skirts so short? Also hate the way EE has gone from Grange Hill to 'on the Tube'.

The80sweregreat · 25/06/2017 09:15

Ninarina, - they just said that Peter had a drink/ drug problem over in NZ and lauren turned to steven for help with the child and support because peter was being abusive, then they decided to leave him to it and come back to live with Jane and Ian. lauren was shown sending texts and pictures to him, but he didnt reply so now they have forgotten about him it seems. They could have brought Peter back with a new head i suppose. There was a hint , early on, that maybe Steven had done something to him but that was dropped too and they seem happy enough with him not being in touch.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 25/06/2017 09:56

I caught up with the last 2 episodes (I have been AWOL from EE for a month now) to see if there was any point in me binge watching (Answer: Nope)

The new Waynetta family+dog . "Call it two 'undred 'cos we're neighbours"
No call it "Get the DogWarden 'cos your large bull dog is trawling about off lead in a childrens play area"

And Abi/Cassettes "80s music from when she was born" Eh? She's 21 not 31.
She was born in 1996! We couldn't flipping buy cassettes in 1992!

Bit eurgh with Steven/Abi but hey ! These Beale boys like to share don't they!

And he's got a good set of shoulders on him Wink

MrsJayy · 25/06/2017 10:49

Nonono just stopit with the fancying of Steven its not right think the music was 90s music but still a cassette 😕

BandeauSally · 25/06/2017 10:55

I have to admit, from the neck down, Steven is very attractive.

The80sweregreat · 25/06/2017 11:34

Steven has a great shape. He is also creepy and plays that well. I would avoid!
Lauren and him have zero chemistry though. Its louis i feel for.
I dont recall playing cassettes in the 90 s, CD s were more popular by then.

EnidButton · 25/06/2017 13:49

I bought a cassette or two in the 90's. Mid-late 90's too. You could definitely still buy them. The wall of CD singles in the record shop would have the cd with the cassette next to it. Usually bought cds.

I couldn't find Steven attractive. He's so weassely.

CorporalNobbyNobbs · 25/06/2017 14:25

I was still on the cassettes in 1996. I think we'd just gotten a CD player but I hadn't upgraded most of my tunes at that stage.
