I was musing that the Steven/Lauren storyline had a touch of the Othello to it (with Abby as Iago). Then it occurred to be that there are plenty of other Shakespearean scenarios going on here - mistaken identity (Dave/Lucky), downfall of a powerful man (Mick) etc. Dear God, I must have had too much sun!

I think they've made Keanu too obviously the father now for it to actually be true.

I had no idea the younger brothers had SNs of any sort. Can't see that it's going to be a major storyline though.

Steven showed his psycho side, Properly scary. It's a bit worrying how this might play out.

Optimist - don't forget the cross-dressers, star-crossed lovers, crude mechanicals, vengeful relatives, schemers, domestic tyrants, murderers, adulterers, fairies, fools and wronged wives.They're all in there! .

I didn't know about the actors, because I don't read TV mags, news, etc.

I think that the writers like to dabble with the Bard and introduce certain stories which may resemble his plays from time to time. I have always thought that a lot of dramas draw on some of our favourite plays and books through the ages - after all, men and women are deeply flawed and capable of things that we might say would never happen - murder, unrequited love, people being cast aside, adultery, its all out there and does go on - maybe not all in one place though! Steven was scary smashing up the place, but the thing that got me was how pretty that courtyard garden was - where do they get the time to keep that so nice??

I think it unlikely that the 'writers' of EE have any knowledge of old Will. If so they would realise a tragedy/comedy needs a plot!
Mind you, WS staged his plays on tiny stages with hardly any scenery and a limited number of actors who would exit stage to reappear with a new head/character, so there' some similarity.

New heads are a great ploy! Best new head has to be Martin in recent years.
Would love some fairies to appear, might cheer everyone up.

EE has done incest once before, with Kat and Uncle Harry.

Also agree that brother /sister incest seems a step too far for EE... but wasn't there a father /daughter incest storyline with Ronnie? Or was that step dad? It was historical anyway rather than played out on screen so I guess a bit more removed...
And of course there was Kat and her uncle.

I think Keanu and Bernie must be blood relations.... Gobby Karen was mouthing off about none of the kids' dads (except Chatham and rileys) having anything to do with them ... if she wasn't Keanus mother then surely she would have made some reference to his mum no longer being around either? On the other hand this is EE so logic doesn't apply! Keanu does call her mum anyway and there's been nothing to suggest she isn't. Seems likely we're being led to believe it's incest (with all the subtlety of a pantomime!) and then it'll turn out to be some random mate.

Watched it last night Abi is playing with fire with steven he is going to go full Steven v v soon and she is going to be at the brunt of it. The new couple are just terrible only storyline is davegate she is so whiny I can't stand her.

I reckon Abby will spill the beans to Lauren about what she and Steven got up to, which will be the thing that tips him into psycho mode. (As nancy said above, take cover Jane!!)

I think Karen will think Keanu is the dad but it won't really be him. Also if Steven does go full psycho- can he please kill Josh/Clark Kent as he gets on my proverbials - he is so dull! - it's no wonder Lauren can resist him! Also if Steven kills Josh could that have some implications for Max with Mr Big? We could have an upgraded version of the vic roof scenes at Canary Wharf

If the had just toned down the new family a little bit they would have been so much better, they are so over the top they are like walking stereotypes. They have the potential to be an interesting family ( we can meet all the dads!) but they have ruined them with the other the top behaviour

Yes Bernie goes to King Edwards which is presumably the catchment school. The reason Keegan goes to Walford High is that he was kicked out of his previous school (King Edwards) and was hence a known trouble maker.

How did Denny not get in King Edwards when he's part potato?
