My son is on annual leave today and i heard him listening to it this morning as well. They did creep and no surprises so i was happy..
not really a huge fan but they do fasinate me and are just different.
not everyone's cuppa though.

Incidentally - I know it's not proper EE - but wasn't redwater awful as well?! And the dreadful ending presumably means there more of that dross to come ........

I haven't bothered trying Redwater. I didn't like Kaaat and Alfeeee.

Alfie's hair bugged me - lol! TBH it all bugged me particularly Kats dramatic change in clothes and hair, also the lack of the twins was very EE in its poor explanation. Yes they did find the boy twin and he turned out to be SHOCK HORROR evil, like his dad ....... was left on a cliffhanger with two lives in the balance (won't spoil it just in case )

They found him, MrsJayy, but he wasn't a nice person at all. Actually, IMHO the awfulness of Redwater wasn't due to the presence of Kat and Alfie - their roles were pretty minor, in contrast to how it was originally marketed.

I wondered if the outcome of the redwater cliffhanger ending was going to be a storyline in EE iyswim, and that's why it got postponed when the new bloke took over, so that it could be shoehorned back into EE at a suitable point? Pure speculation though

I watched the first episode of RW. Gave up and watched the last half hour of the finale. It was ok. I think it would've been better not connected to Kat and Alfie. Just a stand alone thing. But maybe that was the only way he could get it made. I love Jessie Wallace so she made it watchable for me. Everyone else was horrible.

Contradicted myself there so maybe it would've been worse without K&A. I didn't think it was that bad. Better than current EE.

How did Kat and Alfie react on discovering the evil twin
