Very upsetting start.

Just watched the first two episodes (I'm not too sure where you are the the UK - I'm in Ireland so different schedule)

Powerful - can defiently feel the fear and the sheer irritation of the idea being a grass makes you worse than a child killer

Kitsandkids · 15/05/2017 21:11

Cocky little shits messing about in the courtroom! Angry

MarmaladeSoup · 15/05/2017 21:27

The defence lawyer is a cunt.

Hepzibar · 15/05/2017 21:31

This doesn't get any easier to watch.

I'll say it again - the acting is breathtaking.

wineoclockthanks · 15/05/2017 21:34

I'm so glad I know the outcome because I'd be really worried that they'd get away with it.
I'm an Everton fan and was at the game when Rhys's parents were there Sad

MyGastIsFlabbered · 15/05/2017 21:37

"All this for a little just" horrific

MyGastIsFlabbered · 15/05/2017 21:37

"Kid" not just

Kitsandkids · 15/05/2017 22:02

That was an awful comment. I presume that really happened. Nasty piece of work. You'd think maybe when it came down to it they might show a little remorse but no, they just cared about themselves Sad

MyGastIsFlabbered · 15/05/2017 22:03

They were awful in court, so disrespectful. I hope they rot in jail. I'm glad the mum and dad got back together.

ssd · 15/05/2017 22:04

am so glad the mum and dad stayed together

SouthWestmom · 15/05/2017 22:05

That was brilliant. I've had to stop watching as bloody dh decided to eat his way through a family bag of popcorn and then crisps asking annoying 'who's that?' Questions all the way through.

kel1493 · 15/05/2017 22:09

I've just watched the last episode. I watched the first 3 the following morning as I didn't fancy watching it before bed.
I was in tears. The bastards deserved much worse.

Ivydalegirl · 15/05/2017 22:11

Such a sad story, those poor parents having to witness the behaviour of those scumbags in court. (Maybe the judge was right and it helped to seal their fate.) 22 years isn't life imprisonment, Mercer will be out in his 30's. The bastard.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 15/05/2017 22:11

Was hard viewing tonight Sad

Sean Mercer and the rest of them really are the lowest of the low, animals. Prison is too good for them Angry

theliverpoolone · 15/05/2017 22:18

Just been reading about them, and Yates was released in 2014 after serving 5 years. Unbelievable.

Cydonia · 15/05/2017 22:19

Was it ever discovered who the real targets of the shooting were? It was never really mentioned in the program, even when the forensic guy was explaining how Rhys was shot. Call me naive, but you'd think if they were rival gang members they would be happy to shop the murderer and be a witness?

Hepzibar · 15/05/2017 22:21

The parents should've been jailed for life too. Their contribution in the upbringing of these scumbags was too blame, their cover up, there lack of morals and decency.

Whatever sentence they got - wasn't long enough.

Hepzibar · 15/05/2017 22:22

Cydonia there wasn't one. Mercer was intent on 'shooting someone that day'

RainbowPastel · 15/05/2017 22:28

His intended victim was Wayne Brady a Strand gang member.

Cydonia · 15/05/2017 22:44

Did the police never get him to testify then?

RainbowPastel · 15/05/2017 22:56

I think there is a wall of silence. They wouldn't grass on each other.

darksideofthemooncup · 15/05/2017 23:08

That was devastating to watch, the acting was outstanding.

Cydonia · 15/05/2017 23:08

Yes I suppose. In a way I'm glad it's finished, the first episode had me in bits. I think they way they filmed and acted it made it so real, I actually felt sick afterwards.

MissEliza · 15/05/2017 23:19

Why didn't Dave Kelly get a promotion? Because he wasn't a 'yes' man? What a kick in the teeth. I don't know the name of the actor who played him but he was bloody brilliant.
You have to really admire Jordan's mum for standing up to the bullies and testifying. That takes guts.

leccybill · 15/05/2017 23:46

Stephen Graham played Dave Kelly.
He is an outstanding actor. I could watch him all day long.
