New thread as we're getting close to full.

Ros doesn't actually think Nick did it. She's setting him up. The H mentioned by Dot is surely Hilton, who is as bent as a nine bob note. An awful lot of things to resolve next week.

buggerthebotox · 23/04/2017 22:11

Wait...Steve saw Jackie's body, didn't he? In the freezer.

Pigeonpost · 23/04/2017 22:12

Was Jackie Laverty series 1? I didn't start until series 2. They said it didn't matter. Bastard lying BBC.

ktel1 · 23/04/2017 22:13

Another amazing episode. Another 7 days to wait until we get the answers .

TheHiphopopotamus · 23/04/2017 22:13

This thread is very amusing though Grin

I think the resolution is going to be a bit disappointing unless Nige shows up.

TheHiphopopotamus · 23/04/2017 22:15

Steve saw Jackie Laverty in the freezer (I think) but they were keeping her to blackmail Gates, so surely once Gates was out the picture, they'd have dumped Jackie's body somewhere?

Steve said in this ep that she'd been missing since whenever it was (I think).

ShotgunNotDoingThePans · 23/04/2017 22:16

Steve did see JL's body but when they went back to find it it was gone - stuffed into the man with Downs' freezer - the one the lazy-arsed female pc fobbed off. I was wonderi g whether that hold would ever be filled in - well, it still might not be!

buggerthebotox · 23/04/2017 22:16

Jackie was S1, yes. She was Gates' girlfriend. Her body wasn't found, but Steve saw it in a freezer. At around the same time he was being beaten over the head by another man in a balaclavaGrin.

To be fair to the Beeb, these references are just nods to other series.

So much to discuss...

Just thinking about 'the kids', particularly the comment about Nick not seeing them if they divorced - I wondered whether he's their step father and she might have been married previously.

Or

Did she perhaps have MH problems which led to an extended career break that's been alluded to.

Jamie-not-James would surely have recalled the fact that he'd given his username and password to Maneet a few days previously?? As PPs have said, they'd have cross-checked his building sign in details with the computer access times.

There must be more...

ButtonMooooon · 23/04/2017 22:18

Bear it was a bit close, 12 minutes behind we were in the end!!! Can I just pause it to have a wee/get more wine/let the dog out. I mean really???!!

He's a bit peed off as I told him it didn't matter he hadn't seen the previous three seasons I started binge watching on Netflix and didn't want to wait for him. Bloody BBC!!!!!

tribpot · 23/04/2017 22:19

But this evening Steve referred to specific freezing damage to Leonie's body that matched that of Jackie Laverty's - unless he has x-ray vision he couldn't have got all that from one look at her body. Perhaps she has been discovered in the meantime?

tribpot · 23/04/2017 22:20

I will say it again - why would JamieNotJames have handed his password over to Maneet? Why would she need it to do a password reset? It's ridiculous (even more ridiculous than the rapid recovery of both Ros and Steve).

TheHiphopopotamus · 23/04/2017 22:21

How the bloody hell can they question Ted about being corrupt because someone who'd just been machine gunned to death may or may not have blinked the first letter of his surname? Confused

TheKop · 23/04/2017 22:21

Another thing - Kate was racing round to arrest Nick and Ros. When she got to their house, Nick had just been handcuffed by the annoying Jodie. Why didn't Kate still take Ros in?

Also, there's no way Ros would be allowed anywhere near the Nick investigation, conflict of interest surely?

Nowdecide · 23/04/2017 22:21

Roz and Jimmy Lakewell. Affair.

EnriqueTheRingBearingLizard · 23/04/2017 22:22

And where are the Huntley children? Nick rightly suspected Ros was lying about them walking round to Claire's, but was arrested before he could make contact with them. WTF is Ros on about, Nick never seeing his children again because they're getting divorced? That doesn't even make sense

I questioned the other day whether the children are the biological children of both or even either of them. Roz specifically said 'You don't have a right to know where they are' and she also mentioned more than once, that all of this and allowing the amputation was specifically to 'punish me'

That must be hugely relevant?

My non bay brain is in a flat spin. I won't sleep tonight Confused

Elendon · 23/04/2017 22:22

The children are with the solicitor, Roz's lover. I think Mr Huntley is the lying toad, they always, always plead innocence and do the weepy bit. He's the cheat. And a murderer.

I was right about the MO. And the fact that Jackie Laverty's body was frozen might be a red herring but coupled with the removal of the fingers on the drug suppliers in series one, and the removal of the fingers with Ifield, it's does stick to it being the same gang as Arnott said.

Roomba · 23/04/2017 22:23

In S1, when Steve had his fingers crushed by the kid and balaclava men who were on the phone to Tommy, he spotted the freezer in the room. He thought it was odd, so they checked the 'seepage' contents as it was empty when they returned. It was confirmed Jackie Laverty's body had been in there, IIRC. Also, Gates told Steve he'd seen her body in there and that Tommy et al were framing him.

I rewatched S1 last week and spotted loads of balaclava men throughout! Also Hilton was dead dodgy then. He was the one who congratulated Dot on solving a case and asked him to put in for his Inspectors exam - not Hastings. They were talking outside the station at the time.

Butterymuffin · 23/04/2017 22:23

The password thing is ridiculous. IT people would surely handle it not someone in the office, and Jamie would know regs say don't share it. Shame about him as he started so promisingly and has been made stupid to serve the plot.

TheKop · 23/04/2017 22:23

I wonder who Jimmy Lakewell's ex-wife is?? This programme has me suspecting everyone!

Roomba · 23/04/2017 22:25

Maybe Roz thinks that Nick will be found guilty of the murders, hence he won't get to see the kids again?

I gasped out loud when I saw her arm, even though I'd been expecting sepsis and collapse after reading this thread.

Nowdecide · 23/04/2017 22:25

Agree the 'just jot down your password' thing was laughable.

As was Kate taking girl detective saying 'it's sorted' at face value.

Very disappointing.

seedsofchange · 23/04/2017 22:25

Bloody hell that was excellent! So glad I rewatched previous series though!

ButtonMooooon · 23/04/2017 22:25

There seems to be a lot to tie up next week. I hope it isn't going to go the way of Broadchurch and The Replacement and be a massive let down with no conclusion of loads of loose ends Angry
