I read an article about this episode a few weeks back. The "rich" dad grew up in poverty - living in a caravan with his mum, the wife had a very working class background too.
I don't understand why the "rich" families would want to go on this programme at all - surely they would worry they would come across badly (would the Bristol family kids get ribbed) and that thieves would target their houses? I also feel uncomfortable about the notion of the "poor" families being "poor". I only have about £140 a week to spend on all food, clothes. petrol etc after my mortgage and bills for a family of 6 in the SE and I don't consider that I am "poor" - we are all well fed, housed and clothed. We don't have a luxury car or take aways but we aren't very materialistic and don't lust after them.
