Just watched these! - can I ask if anyone knows, do the wives have no contact at all then with their own families - mums, sisters, aunts? Is it just the mormons around them? - if so, very sad.

Yeah, I really wanted to know more about them. How did they all get to be in that community in the first place? I've seen other fundamentalists and in comparison these were rather worldly, much less sheltered and with copious access to the outside world - at least that was how it seemed. Faith played a part in their lives and there was some cult of personality but the women still seemed to have a large amount (comparatively speaking) of autonomy and played a large role in decision making in day to day life. So it really seemed odd that they would choose that lifestyle - I just didn't really "get" them at all.
