Glad I'm not the only one feeling cheated by this ending. Her leaving Ian was the only good part.

They were in the building st the end when Ellen met vernon weren't they?

What the bobbins just happened?!?!?!

Also why did she make Ellen take the pills and then barricade her in, making it clear it was murder not suicide?

And why didn't she give her enough pills to actually kill her?

And what was the point of the ankle thing?

And how did she know Lia was in the library?

The sound quality seemed really bad in this episode I was struggling to hear what they were all saying.
Way too rushed at the end, should have been in 4 parts. I was really glad she left Ian though and that siobhan redmond was on Ellen's side they Paula was unhinged.

Agree it kind of lost the plot towards the end and a lot of it was very unrealistic. That's the BBC for ya - wouldn't get that on C4 haha

If they have to release statements on all the ending bits, they've written a shit ending tbh. That should have all been explained through the show, the acting, the plot. Not in a seven question article afterwards. Shit writing!!!

Interesting that the Radio Times ha be that article prepeared. It's as if they knew the ending was confusing and disappointing.

I got the impression they finally believe Ellen because she persuaded Georgia To go to the police and tell them Kay had been having her infirm on Ellen. Which backed up Ellen's story.

Did ellen use a phone at the library to call the police? And why on earth didn't she borrow her sisters phone (so it wasn't obvious) and record the conversation with Kay (while still having a phone for Kay to confiscate)?

Despite my initial thoughts of David being the dad.. Wasn't he just looking longingly, a bit depressed like 'look what you could have had' but he's ended up with nothing because he's a bit of a twat?

Bit confusing!

So disappointed, this had such promise but what a let-down. That ending was so far-fetched - hotwiring a car after you've overdosed? FFS!

The twists suggested on here were miles better and completely agree about the cliches e.g working mothers are neglectful, bereaved mothers are mental - great stereotyping .

Instead of writing a whole article explain the ending online why didn't they just, you know, show some of it in the drama?! Or is that too obvious! Grrr

No idea what the Georgia thing was- had the police let her go for the hit and run or was that bollocks?

Still not convinced why Kay had to die, nor why it had got "really shitty around here"?

Do I care? Probably not

It was a library wsn't it as Paula did that presentation about books & her daughter saying "shhh" because she "just knew" or some such drivel which somehow was thought to be brilliant.

The writer seems to be answering the radio times article questions as if the characters are real. I wonder if he could use some help.

I think they recorded 4 episodes then for some reason they were told to cut it down to 3.

It's the only explanation for such a rushed, shamnolic last 15 mins.
