Anyone else planning on watching this three-parter that starts tonight at 9?

Not a spoiler. Raises more questions, makes everything less clear.

Can't believe that the "library" is actually a private house, it must be enormous. Not my style though, too much glass and concrete.

wineusuallyhelps · 09/03/2017 13:03

This is a ridiculous plot but I love it!

Ellen's husband is dodgy. The twist - or one of them - is going to be to do with him, I reckon.

Paula definitely hasn't killed Kay. I don't know who has. Also she won't be as psychotic as she currently looks.

SoupDragon · 09/03/2017 13:18

I don't remember Paula throwing herself down stairs.

Whywaitfortomorrow · 09/03/2017 13:22

Loving all these theories. I definitely think Ellen's husband is not all that he seems.

I think they could have stretched this to more than 3 episodes as they have had to condense so much into each one that it makes some of it unrealistic. I get that it is fiction/drama but there has to be some element of reality. I thought you couldn't drive for six weeks after a c-section - and as for getting out of the house with a 4 week old with good hair, make up and ironed clothes, hats off to Ellen, I couldn't do it. Or have I missed the timeline, did Ellen leave work early and have baby prematurely after Kay's death ?

ArmySal · 09/03/2017 13:34

It's not actually 'illegal' to drive after a c-section, it's just advisable not to for 6 weeks. If you choose to you're supposed to let your insurance company know.

Ulysses · 09/03/2017 13:46

Im enjoying this immensely. I did think that Paula hadn't actually done anything terrible apart from looking rather intensely at Ellen but that clip has me thinking otherwise.

I work in Glasgow and it's nice to see the city and it's inhabitants looking cosmopolitan on TV for a change!

Saltedcaramel2016 · 09/03/2017 14:02

Could Paula be be a patient of Ellen's husband? She finds out he is having a baby with Ellen and plans to take over Ellen's life by getting her job, baby and husband.

Saltedcaramel2016 · 09/03/2017 14:03

I reckon Paula's baby died and she can't have anymore. She got together with her husband due to his daughter and pretends she is hers.

Inkanta · 09/03/2017 14:03

I'm wondering why would Kay go onto the roof and if it wasn't voluntarily - how could she be forced.

I'm thinking Kay's husband was rough with Ellen pulling her by the arm up his stairs btw. His anger was over the top if you ask me. She only asked to look at Kay's phone. Surprisingly she took the arm pulling in good humour.

Merrylegs · 09/03/2017 14:07

There are far too many glamorous people in that library. (Who builds libraries now?!) Where's smelly man, frazzled bounce and rhyme volunteer, kids throwing crisps and the knit and natter group?

TinfoilHattie · 09/03/2017 14:09

There are far too many glamorous people in that library.

We're all like that in Glasgow. All of the time.

dottypotter · 09/03/2017 14:13

The dialogue is terrible hard to understand what is being said.

How about Ellens husband had an affair with Paula and is Carys' father.

Carys is obviously dead or in care I don't think the child she bought to the office was her.

TinfoilHattie · 09/03/2017 14:15

How about Ellens husband had an affair with Paula and is Carys' father.

Not a genetic expert, but two white people are unlikely to have a mixed race child.

Whoever the child is who came to the office with Paula, I don't think she is Paula's natural child, and don't think she lives with Paul and her husband full time.

LemonadeWithACherry · 09/03/2017 14:34

primadonnagirl thank you so much! I've found the top on ebay now with your help Thanks

Maybe Vernon's dodgy, and he pushed Kay off the roof?

If Ellen, Kay and Kay's DH were at uni together how come Ellen looks so much younger than them?

The baby is super cute.

dottypotter · 09/03/2017 14:37

Not a genetic expert, but two white people are unlikely to have a mixed race child.

the child in the office isn't theirs though?

eddiemairswife · 09/03/2017 14:42

I think it is possible, though unlikely, if there is a black/asian ancestor.

SoupDragon · 09/03/2017 14:51

If Ellen, Kay and Kay's DH were at uni together how come Ellen looks so much younger than them?

The DH was one of Ellen's lecturers. I can't remember where Kay fits in but I don't think she was one of Ellen's peers.

TinfoilHattie · 09/03/2017 14:59

Ellen said that Kay was one of hte star graduates from a few years before her, she was invited back to mentor some of the undergrads which is when she met Ellen. Ellen introduced her to one of her tutors, who became Kay's husband.

I don't think it's ever been said what Paula's husband does?

Primadonnagirl · 09/03/2017 15:41

Happy to help Lemon!

tiredbuthappyworkingmum · 09/03/2017 15:47

Kay calling Ellen from the library makes it seem that there is some problem with the library... ? as PP have said, I reckon Dougray Scott is looking suspicious. Remember the Midsomer Murder rule that the most famous cast member is always the killer.

Figgygal · 09/03/2017 15:56

Of course dougray Scott is guilty otherwise why would he be there Grin

I Actually despise Ella you could argue that Paula actually hasn't done anything wrong other than being a bit over keen

Seemingly within days of a C section the baby was in its own room with a pillow and she was driving I swear if there were any more than three episodes I'd be binning it off its utter Tosh

SpookyPotato · 09/03/2017 15:59

Loving this, really can't wait for Tuesday. Though yes very unrealistic... but that's drama! Ellen looked far too lovely and well presented on the hospital bed, whereas my hair was a greasy wedge, all sorts of tubes attached to me, swollen etc.. then the walking hunched over.. I had a c-section two weeks ago and so it is fresh in my mind Grin

oldbagforlife · 09/03/2017 16:22

Another thing I keep thinking of is that Ellen and her husband met when he was her therapist. Isn't that really, really unethical to form a relationship with a patient who is vulnerable? It rings massive alarm bells about his scruples

Yes I think that's why her sister doesn't like him, there will definitely be something dodgy revealed about him I think

QueenoftheAndals · 09/03/2017 16:24

Not a genetic expert, but two white people are unlikely to have a mixed race child.

But Paula's husband is Asian, isn't he?

stonecircle · 09/03/2017 16:25

Not a genetic expert, but two white people are unlikely to have a mixed race child.

But Navine Chowdhry, the actor who plays Paula's husband, isn't white is he?
