I think the need to do Erin Brockavich visit to Summer Bay. The incidence of cancer there vs Neighbours shows its a local issue not a national one

Hannah had breast cancer, but she died of a head injury after the caravan park explosion.

But yes, there’s a major Summer Bay cancer cluster (largely limited to attractive young women). Off the top of my head we’ve had (going way back, now) Meg, Roxy, Flynn, Martha, Belle, Hannah and Billie. And now Ma Antoni’s not looking too hot (although when she complained of tiredness and nausea, I did briefly think “Ooh, surprise late pregnancy?” Which is the alternative diagnosis for any female in Soapland who feels a bit off.)

Maddie, Colleen, Alf and Irene have had cancer too. There was a reason given for it though wasn’t there. I remember belle was investigating it and Rachel the doctor gave her figures from the hospital to confirm there were higher instances of cancer in summer bay then Angelo discovered the toxic waste site and that was the reason for the higher incidences of cancer. You’d think they’d all want to move away though and it would at least be made public knowledge.

Hannah didn’t actually have cancer though did she. She had the BRAC gene (I think that’s the name of it). Basically means you’re more at risk of breast cancer.

I meant to say.. and so she had a masectomy as a precaution.

Cel982 I also thought a pregnancy might be on the cards when she mentioned feeling off colour. No one ever gets a mild cold or virus in tv land, always pregnancy or serious illness!
