Nooooo. Ash needs to stay. There are - er - still a couple of women he hasn’t dated! And I do like him - a last link to the Braxtons who I miss (I know lots of people hated those storylines).

New River Boys - so the gang still exists (aren’t they based in somewhere called Mangrove River?) but is under new leadership. Heath is happy in the city with Bianca, Darcey, Harley and new baby; Brax is presumably somewhere with Ricky and Baby Casey!

Love the cursed houseshare idea! - I sometimes think about Home and Away Venn diagrams - eg everyone who has dated Ash and also Nate, everyone who has dated Ash and also died, everyone who has had cancer (and there are a LOT)...

Fun fact: the guy who plays Justin dated Phoebe on the show and the actor who plays her in real life, and is now dating Willow on the show and the actor who plays her in real life...That’s not a great track record!

Ash is going through a very difficult time right now, he let Luc go to be here for baby and now this baby has died. Abd he was going to step up and support Phoebe with the twins and she lost them.

He also has a knack for being soft and sympathetic guy (remember how he looked after Kat after Dylan hit her?) until he reels you in and then he turns into unstable violent guy. In his defence, and its not much of one, I know, he’s never violent to women. Home and Away likes to uphold its traditional patriarchal values, and anything goes (drugs, knife crime, arson, shootings) except violence to women and rape (although the redemption arc of Kane back in the day rather gives the lie to that last one, too...)
