Leak buys a woolley 'at and does an Ian Beale.
Where is all this money comimg from for 'old skool burgers ' and rings?

EnidButton · 14/02/2017 20:43

People really not happy on twitter about Lee's storyline. Tv critics saying they're going to stop watching as it's damaging to male mental health awareness. I'm going to have to watch tonight's aren't I?

EnidButton · 14/02/2017 20:45

I haven't watched it yet but it was supposed to be a sensitive storyline about how mental health issues can effect younger men and the misunderstandings and stigma there is about it.

They really fucked that up didn't they?

JustAnotherSilentOldNumber · 14/02/2017 20:46

yes, they really have.

Like all storylines, they start off with good intentions but then they make things worse.

The80sweregreat · 14/02/2017 20:47

Enid, yep.

EnidButton · 14/02/2017 20:50

This is why I really really don't want them to go down the male infertility route, like some posters were saying, with Stacey and Martin. I'd explode with annoyance because there's no way they'd do it right.

Shame because I thought they could've done things like that well after Carol's cancer story. That was pretty well done. Not anymore though.

EnidButton · 14/02/2017 20:51

(It's affect not effect isn't it? That's annoying me now. Grin)

The80sweregreat · 14/02/2017 21:00

Dunno enid, my spelling was always erratic! Even with spell checker.

My ds2 has anxiety, he doesn't behave like this. He has a great GP ( and us) and doing ok at uni. Its not the same as lee, but they could have handled the whole thing differently. Hitting Whitney was a real low.
Any sympathy i may have had was wiped out then. There isnt any excuse.
I know its not real!

EnidButton · 14/02/2017 21:07

I've had anxiety badly in the past. Not depression though which is different. Everyone reacts differently obviously but this was very poorly done. Sort your DS has to deal with it, anxiety is really horrible, but glad he's doing well and overcoming it. It does get better. Flowers

EnidButton · 14/02/2017 21:07

*sorry your DS...

Autocorrect is not my friend today.

The80sweregreat · 14/02/2017 21:13

Thank you. Am worried about him, but he is dealing with it.
The lee story could have been good, but they overegg the pudding!
Its a shame really.

ThornyBird · 14/02/2017 22:22

I hope Twitters Ian far behind him in going - surely she needs to return to Bianca after this? Please?

I did laugh at Patrick mentioning his stroke after comments on here - I swear the writers are reading waves

Also eye rolled at Nuchelle thinking the hand delivered card was from Tim.

Optimist1 · 14/02/2017 23:05

I'm trying to think what the real sequence of events would be regarding Preson/hisparents/Nuchelle - would there be some sort of warrant out for her arrest, with him being so young (can't remember if he was 17 or 18)?

EnidButton · 14/02/2017 23:40

Well that was boring. Think I'm properly done with it until someone else takes over. Will keep up on here though. Didn't think Lee's exit was that bad. Was expecting much worse. People who are depressed sometimes do think their loved ones would be better off without them. (Never true.) How hilarious was Nuchelle and Preston's snog? Grin As if.

MrsJayy · 15/02/2017 00:04

So that is it Lee gone that was a build up to nothing. Nuchelles young boyfriend ewww that is going to have the square in a spin.Jack not putting Roxys name onthe headstone is just a shitty thing to do

MrsJayy · 15/02/2017 00:06

Preston was 17 she said

Akire · 15/02/2017 00:10

You can't do Headstones for about a year to let the ground settle so don't know why they an put one up a few weeks After? if was just him fair enough but can't believe he do that for Amy "where's mummy gone?" Sort Of thing. Plus Glenda must have some Say given she's Roxy next of kin.

Find it hard Mick would say leave her son you are a waste of space. Not given Him support given his depression. I think he end
Up on streets and get phone call saying he's half dead or something and all will be forgiven.

MrsJayy · 15/02/2017 00:14

I thought it was at least 6 months but yeah it takes a while maybe jack was just picking it out,

HateSummer · 15/02/2017 07:17

Bit of googling suggests Preston stars in a Disney channel programme called The Lodge, made in Nothern Ireland. no idea if he's English or American or from Northern Ireland. I can't wait to hear his accent though!

youarenotkiddingme · 15/02/2017 07:34

I was left Shock

MrsBotox · 15/02/2017 08:11

I watched last week's episodes on catch-up last night so am a bit behind.
I still don't understand why Jack is so anti Glenda. Surely the kids would be better off with a bit of continuity and Amy loves gran.
Also am amazed at the standard of make-up on people like Shagon, Whitless and Kim. Really professional. Though Whit overdoes it in my view - lips or eyes - not both or risk looking like one of those Bratz dolls.

SoupDragon · 15/02/2017 09:02

Nuchelle didn't really think the card was from Tim, that was just a dismissive cover. She thought it was actually from a secret admirer.

seabreezewavingtrees · 15/02/2017 10:32

MrsBotox I think Jack's dislike of Glenda stems from Ronnie's dislike. Ronnie deeply disliked Glenda because Glenda was aware of what Archie was doing to Ronnie as a girl but left both girls with him anyway. When Glenda returned Ronnie couldn't forgive her for not only abandoning her, but leaving her with her father in the knowledge of what was happening. Whilst Glenda was supposed to be rebuilding bridges she instead slept with Ian Beale (who was attached) and worse still, with Phil which caused massive trouble between Phil and Shirley, Phil being Ronnie's favourite cousin and she was also quite fond of Shirley. Glenda also introduced Danny as Ron and Rox's brother that they'd never known anything about and they were hurt that she abandoned them but 'saved' him and then denied them the chance to know him. Danny and Glenda then tried to steal a million pounds (inheritance) from Roxy but Phil got to it first, the girls were, however, under the impression that their own mother did it, and they weren't far wrong as it had been her intention. Glenda was also totally unsympathetic when Ronnie told her about Danielle. So all in all Glenda was just a terrible mother and all of the Mitchells dislike her intensely, hence Aunt Sal's outburst at the funeral.
Then to top all of that off, after the funeral Glenda announced she was taking one of the kids from Jack.

SinisterBumFacedCat · 15/02/2017 11:03

I actually think Jack was very unfair on Glenda. Re Ronnie and Roxy as I remember it she left before Archie started abusing Ronnie, and Ronnie was quite could understand why she left. The shagging around on the square didn't help when she was on it, but Phil and Shirley did steal the inheritance and were never held accountable for it or expressed remorse even now maybe that was a plot hole we were supposed to forget. Also Glenda has been one of the few characters to grieve Roxy, the extended Mitchell clan have pretty much forgotten them in a month and didn't help Jack at all with the children, even buggered off abroad.
Oh and bloody Aunt Sal was horrible, she just hijacked the funeral and made it all about her righteous indignation. I don't know why she's so bitter, maybe she was hoping to be the next Mitchell woman Jack shags and it didn't happen.

seabreezewavingtrees · 15/02/2017 11:52

Sinister It was revealed in the summer of 2010 that when Glenda left she knew. She revealed it to Peggy in the R&R unisex toilets as they were both drying their hands. Peggy was always annoyed at Glenda referring to them as "her girls" when she abandoned them. Glenda was explaining her reasons, being pushed and pushed by Peggy to justify herself, and she accidentally revealed to Peggy that she knew and left, in her words, because she was pregnant and Archie had replaced her with Ronnie. Peggy exclaimed "She was telling the truth, you knew all along what Archie was doing to Ronnie" then the duffs duffs came in. It was a difficult storyline. But its well established that Glenda knew and Peggy and Sal thereafter hated her.
