Perhaps EE are trying to attract younger viewers? All the stuff with sexting, sending dick pics, Bex's angst over losing her virginity and now some sort of cyberbullying with Louise Confused. I don't feel like the target audience.

Are they trying to morph into HollyOaks? Please no.

Akire · 19/01/2017 12:47

The other day Carmel went cafe just before going hime at end of the day to buy a cup of tea. She did ndul buying cake but surely time it took her to do that she could crossed square and made a almost free one at home!

I'd be renting out my kitchen to market traders for 50p cup and making fortune.

HoHumming · 19/01/2017 14:02

But they wouldn't have any interaction if they all popped home for a cuppa, did their own washing, went to a big supermarket, cooked their own breakfast, didn't share houses, wore headphones while jogging, and did everything remotely normally

I'm unsure how they can appeal to a younger audience when they have murders, rapes, fighting, blackmail.

Did Billy ever even mention the money Jay stole?

The80sweregreat · 19/01/2017 14:14

it does feel as though they are trying to tap into the teen market a bit with the music and more 'teen' type issues.
Not sure if it will work though, most young people I know have never watched it at all!
agree about the waste of money eating out. How can they all afford it?
( and they buy their supplies from the mini mart, that place cant be cheap)

Akire · 19/01/2017 14:23

Guessing Billy will have to audit accounts to Les at some point suppose at moment the money is on paper still in tin.

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 19/01/2017 14:52

Liking Donna's new hair. What happened with her and Shrimpy? Last seen snogging each other's faces off at the Christmas party.

EnidButton · 19/01/2017 14:57

On Twitter the majority of people who tweet during the episodes #Eastenders are young. I'd say between 16 and 25. Vast majority. Been like that for years.

So really they don't need to try so hard and go all "down with the kids" because they're already watching. It does feel like one of those educational specials that they used to wheel The Big Telly into the classroom for.

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 19/01/2017 15:05

Yes, I hope they don't go all Grange Hill on us Enid

I'm old enough to remember the Big Telly on wheels. Grin Always a treat at school if that was hauled into the class for some crappy sex education video or something!

SinisterBumFacedCat · 19/01/2017 15:08

The big telly on wheels! Those were the days Grin

HoHumming · 19/01/2017 15:15

I remember the Big Telly on wheels too 😀😀😀 From memory all we ever watched were David Attenborough nature programmes!

woodhill · 19/01/2017 16:06

Oh yes the wheels telly, still around in the 00s in the school I was working in.

The80sweregreat · 19/01/2017 16:45

I loved the big tv on wheels with the beta max video machine! We had a special room for our one - could watch the look and learn programmes and ( in secondary school) films about VD ( or STIs as they are known now) and why smoking is bad for you. That one did stick in my mind, so although I am overweight and like an alcoholic drink, I have never smoked ( so it did work, for me at least!) It really was an event that TV being wheeled around the corridors. Todays youth would just laugh!

EnidButton · 19/01/2017 16:53

They were Huge weren't they? Grin

The80sweregreat · 19/01/2017 17:05

It took two teachers about 15 minutes to haul it into the special room for the TV watching! I can really remember it all so well, shame that I didn't take the same amount of notice of maths..
happy days eh? now they probably watch a powerpoint presentation in their own classroom. What they are missing out on..

TheMockingbird · 19/01/2017 19:35

Oh thanks for ruining The Good Dinosaur, Jack! Maybe EE should come with a spoiler alert.

nancy75 · 19/01/2017 19:41

Good to see twitney & droopy draws lee are economising, given their fininacial situation a night out in Walfords wine bar is deffo a good idea

DearMrDilkington · 19/01/2017 19:42

Whitless is so much better when she's away from the carters.

Lee however gives me the rage, his just awful!

nancy75 · 19/01/2017 19:44

She should tell Lee to fuck right off, even Twitney can do better than that

DearMrDilkington · 19/01/2017 19:46

Does anyone know how old Matthew is meant to be?

woodhill · 19/01/2017 19:46

Wasn't aware Whitney still worked at the school. It hasn't been in the plot since the Headteacher left.

DearMrDilkington · 19/01/2017 19:50

She's got to leave him now, surely she's not going to put up with him being mentally abusive on top of everything else his done.

Allthebestnamesareused · 19/01/2017 19:51

And don't get me started on the nee Meeeee-chelle! Grin

nancy75 · 19/01/2017 19:53

Matthew was born on the day Ronnie & Charlie got married, that must have been New Year's Day 2015? So he is 2

TheMockingbird · 19/01/2017 19:56

Half expecting Mick to offer Twitney to top and tail with him in his bed.

DearMrDilkington · 19/01/2017 19:56

Ah thanks Nancy, I thought he was around that age but wasn't sure. It's strange nobody has mentioned him crying for his mum. Unless I've missed a bit?
