WTF?

OP posts:
ellenanora5 · 25/02/2017 19:45

Thanks AuntGertrude, that's true he won't change the end result.

Helbelle75 · 25/02/2017 19:51

Drive were terrible tonight.
Alfie boe has just shown them how it's done. Pure quality.

AlexanderHamilton · 25/02/2017 19:53

Alfie Boe didn't move a muscle until the last chord died away. Michael Ball - pure class.

That's how it's done.

AlexanderHamilton · 25/02/2017 19:54

None of the bands sounded professional tonight. Not the standard I'd expect going to a West End show.

BonnesVacances · 25/02/2017 20:01

I've called it wrong for everything this year. Danny Mac lost, Candice won so I fully expect it to be Five to Five winning tonight. I feel disappointed already. I won't go to watch the show if Five to Five win and I really wanted to go to see it. I think it'll bomb as I just can't see who will go to see it with a bunch of teenagers in it jumping all over the stage in neon-coloured clothing. Sad

AlexanderHamilton · 25/02/2017 20:03

Oh it's a tour, not west end then.

AlexanderHamilton · 25/02/2017 20:04

A friend just tweeted two of his students are in the final. Don't know who.

LIZS · 25/02/2017 20:05

Hang on, this group will only be providing the live soundtrack to the show, not the stars!

Darlink · 25/02/2017 20:09

Peter Kay is turgid

LIZS · 25/02/2017 20:10

Robbie wasn't really singing

AlexanderHamilton · 25/02/2017 20:11

There are so many fabulous shows coming next year both on tour & the west end. Don't think I will be going to see this one & I love take that music.

BonnesVacances · 25/02/2017 20:11

I think what they mean is that the story isn't about 'the band' but about the girls who go to watch the band.

I don't know why they didn't sing more TT songs when that's what we're voting for them to do. Surely we need to see how well they sing those?

AuntGertrude · 25/02/2017 20:18

Yes!!! I would definitely go and see them if they tour near me.

AlexanderHamilton · 25/02/2017 20:19

I'll be going to see Beautiful & Shrek instead on tour.

ellenanora5 · 25/02/2017 20:22

I thought they didn't stand a chance, thought the other two bands were much better, oh well fair play to them anyway, hope it all works out well Smile

228agreenend · 25/02/2017 20:34

I think they will be good.

BreatheDeep · 25/02/2017 21:11

I liked Five to Five throughout. Not the best singers or dancers but best all round and they were very endearing. Glad they won. Probably won't go to see the show though.

Surprised Take That didn't fit their new single in somewhere

SESthebrave · 25/02/2017 22:47

I've been watching on catch up a bit later through the series, following here but not posted as been too far behind the conversation.

I really think the BBC could have made this show much better than it was. It felt pretty second rate throughout and Peter Kay was the icing on the cake. I'm sure in the circumstances, they could have done without a 4th judge or maybe Michael Ball could have stood in, seeing as he was there and has presenting experience.

I also think the process was flawed in that the final band was not made up of the five best boys.

Michael Ball and particularly Alfie Boe, really showed them how it's done.

Stopmithering · 25/02/2017 23:19

Just watched this on catch-up.
I have really enjoyed this show, and I'm not at all a TT fan.
Thought the format worked well, loved the judges and presenters, found all the boys talented and natural.
Five to Five were definitely the best for me, especially the lovely Curtis. Such a lovely, natural voice.
Having said all that, I'm never invested in these Tv programmes for the long term.
I'm too old to really care.
But, if this show came to my town, I might very well go along and see the thing. Why not?

ZackyVengeance · 25/02/2017 23:31

drive were my favs
but glad that 5 to 5 won.

ZackyVengeance · 25/02/2017 23:37

AlexanderHamilton Alfie is god.. behave lol

AlexanderHamilton · 25/02/2017 23:51

It was a fabulous performance - he really held the moment, but my Valjean is Colm Wilkinson

GrimDamnFanjo · 26/02/2017 10:28

The oddness of the voting now makes more sense now we know that the Band are not the actual stars of the show.
I can see why the focus was on the group rather than having the best performers together. The whole show was just odd really to me. I didn't think Mel was a good fit, although I really like her.

greenworm · 26/02/2017 13:38

Really Grim, when did they say that?

I watched the final on catch-up, thought it was a bit disjointed. I love Peter Kay but he was an odd fit for the judging panel, why was Robbie able to stand and sing but not sit and judge, the performance of Bow & Ball showed up the nafness of the bands' performances. And Martin was even odder than usual 'you'll be singing musical theatre for the rest of your lives' wtf?

GrimDamnFanjo · 26/02/2017 16:56

I think it was in the interview with Jack Ryder. The musical is going to be about a group of girls who are fans of the band and the band are going to provide the musical soundtrack.
I thought that Robbie had changed his mind about judging rather than not being well, reading between the lines as Peter Kay seemed to be dropping a few hints...
