I think I'm going to have to watch season 1 again. I'm not really sure why Kathy (girl with baby) is in danger.

Kathy is in danger because she lives in an area the gangs are fighting over I think.

Viv in the shower was great. I love that she doesn't give a fuck.

Love this programme but I'm having real trouble remembering exactly what happened to Laurie last season. I know what happened obviously but not who was involved. I've reread the first thread but it's still not clear and I think I will need to know to get the important parts of this series.

Could anyone enlighten me please?

I know someone has said that they are still watching series 1 so dont want spoilers but that would kill this thread dead and stop the rest of us from chattng about it.....sorry

S1 SPOILER

Viv killed Laurie with expanding foam after he tried to kill her. Dina came in just after it happened and helped cover up the evidence implicating Viv. The other main woman character who's name I've forgotten arrived on the scene with lots of police and while examining the scene found Dinas coat button which she then hid from the CSIs. She gave the button back and said she did not want to know what happened but wouldn't say anything.

Thats what I remember.

Thanks Gaggia, that makes more sense assuming the one who hid the button is the one who looks about 13?

I watched the first series but am lost as to Kathy. Did we know that Dinah was her legal guardian? Did we know she was pregnant/had a baby? And who is the other young woman she seems to be living with?

And why is she in trouble? They seemed to play that scene not as if Dinah was just warning her generally, but as if she has specific reason to be concerned about Kathy and the gangs.

SPOILER EXPLANATION---

Cathy was a girl from a less than desirable family. I think Donna (the girl who lives with her) is her step sister. Cathy was mistaken for a girl with Down's syndrome (Laurie's 'type') -after sustaining facial injuries from a car crash- by Laurie and a youth worker called Patrick. It was Cathy that killed Laurie but they both said she was pregnant before he kidnapped her and that the baby was her boyfriend Alpha's. In the first episode of series 2 though it was unclear whether Alpha had died from injuries at the end of S1 or had left because the baby may not have been his. Dinah has taken Cathy under her wing as she felt responsible for her and fished her out of the river where Laurie would leave his victims to drown. I'm not sure if Dinah thinks Cathy is at risk due to her connection with Dinah and the police or that maybe Cathy's family itself was a gang type family. Her parents didn't return from their honeymoon when she found found and only Donna showed concern when she went missing.

It was deffo Kathy who killed Laurie with the expanding foam. He was about to rape Dinah.

Just jumping in now as I have just finished first series. Donna was only in the first episode when they went to the house looking for Kathy. Was never seen or mentioned again. Maybe she is going to be a part of this series storyline?

Donna was wearing a tiger onesie in series one. I think she was only in the one scene where Dinah and Vivian break into the house to find Cathy and ask for a recent photo. It was then that they realised she didn't have Down's syndrome.

I binge watched S1 the day before S2 started so I can remember most of it. I loved it, must have missed it the first time around.

Ah it was Kathy yes, not Viv. Think I do need to revisit s1!
