Laura Trott for me. Total legend.

Lovelongweekends · 18/12/2016 20:00

Alistair Brownlee

ElizaSchuyler · 18/12/2016 20:03

Some of these Paralympics are inspiring as a parent of two children with their own challenges I'm awe struck.

EweAreHere · 18/12/2016 20:03

Andy Murray or Laura Kenny.

I think I'll vote for Laura Kenny, even though Andy has had an amazing year. But he's won it a couple of times recently, including last year, and Laura was amazing in Rio ... and just so lovely and down to earth.

Polkadotties · 18/12/2016 20:05

Nick is a legend!

MiddleClassProblem · 18/12/2016 20:05

Mo's fall, Sophie is sheer inspiration and Nick for showing age is not a factor.

They all have something special. We're so lucky!

Watching Sophie Christiansen, what an amazing woman. Oh I love this programme, I always end up sobbing my guts out. I wish I was half as deternined as these people

Igottastartthinkingbee · 18/12/2016 20:09

Nick Skelton
Alistair Brownlee
Max Whitlock

But ask me again in a minute and I'll say three different people! It's a tough list!

Am very unimpressed at Chris Froome's omission though AngrySadConfused

backaftera2yearbreak · 18/12/2016 20:09

I'd like brownlee to win after helping his brother but I think Murray will get it

AlabasterSnowball · 18/12/2016 20:10

I also forgot how much I love Gareth Bale and how much he and the Wales team entertained me this year

ElizaSchuyler · 18/12/2016 20:10

I've just said to DS who loves sport but as a hypermobile, possibly dyspraxic child with asd has had big problems especially with awful non inclusive football clubs how easy it would be for someone with Sophie's condition to say I can't do this. She is an inspiration.

And all the unsung heroes including ds's volunteer hockey coaches who have given him a chance.

BestIsWest · 18/12/2016 20:13

I really couldn't pick. Such a good choice of candidates this year.

Morecakeplease7 · 18/12/2016 20:17

Jason Kenny - 3 gold medals in a week. Top Olympian with 6 golds along with Chris Hoy. Just gets on with it, no showing off. Nice guy.

MiddleClassProblem · 18/12/2016 20:17

I keep crying!

Redcrayons · 18/12/2016 20:20

I want all of them to win. Grin
They all have such great stories.

BestIsWest · 18/12/2016 20:20

I think a Jason Kenny too. Then I think Mo Farah, then, oh I can't choose.

80sMum · 18/12/2016 20:21

It's Andy Murray for me. But all of the nominees are inspirational. I will be happy whoever wins. They all deserve it!

BringMeTea · 18/12/2016 20:22

Nick Skelton. I keep crying too.

ElizaSchuyler · 18/12/2016 20:24

Ds wants to vote for Vardy. I'm trying to explain why he shouldn't.

228agreenend · 18/12/2016 20:24

My husband has noticed that Tom Daly hasn't got socks on, unless he's mistaken.

Stuckinstressville · 18/12/2016 20:25

Kate Richardson Walsh everytime- hockey is an awesome
Huge secret sport and she deserves it! Woman are amazons !

228agreenend · 18/12/2016 20:25

Voted

Floralnomad · 18/12/2016 20:25

Murray , Brownlee or Skelton for me . I would imagine Murray will get a knighthood in the New Years list .

ElizaSchuyler · 18/12/2016 20:26

That women's hockey final was stunning. I was surprised Maddy Hinch wasn't nominated.

MiddleClassProblem · 18/12/2016 20:27

No socks is quite "high fashion" I think or maybe he just couldn't find a pair
