Anybody watching?

Yes I agree, and those "amazing" people will get paid thousands for three weeks of mild discomfort. He talks about them as if they're a brave platoon of soldiers on a vital mission, suffering intolerable hardships. I really can't stand Larry after that disgusting rant. Obviously tolerance isn't one of his strong points. But Martin really is now fair game for them all to put him down whenever it suits. There's bound to be others with annoying habits but I think it's edited out.

PaddingtonLoverOfMarmalade · 27/11/2016 09:31

Perhaps Martin's playing the best long game of all of them and we're underestimating him? Surely once HUTH stops running his TV career is over, apart from pantomime. Now he'll have interviews and magazine articles. He's been irritating and a bit spoilt but not nasty and I'm guessing his family will still love him if they've been putting up with him for years!

Some of the other limelight hoggers strike me as very egotistical and two-faced so able to put up with hunger and discomfort for the chance to be on tv. Would like to see more of the quieter characters e.g. Ola and Jordan who seem genuinely interesting. Also surprised at how much I like Wayne.

MrsJayy · 27/11/2016 09:38

Wayne not the sharpest tool in the box bless him but a nice guy. I think Larry was pissed off Danny was out and not Martin

Roussette · 27/11/2016 09:41

Love this! Grin

The thing is... offering to do two straws is a very normal thing to do and would be what I would've done. OK Martin kept on a bit, but they know his character and to keep mentioning it like a child would, did not deserve being put down in such a nasty way like Larry did.

I imagine Larry is literally just doing this for the money. He isn't in it for the experience. He's just coasting along, he's managed to be exempted from quite a few tasks and now as the days/weeks go by some of his camp mates are getting on his tits and he can't help but have a pop at an easy target like Martin.

I honestly think there's nothing wrong with Martin, to give him his due, he's thrown himself into every single task, he hasn't whinged. Larry just hangs around with a miserable face, at least Martin is irritatingly cheery!

Chopstick17 · 27/11/2016 10:21

Good on Larry, Martin is a pain in the arse and Larry isn't afraid to tell him so. Martin brought it up and asked Larry and Larry gave him his opinion.

Chopstick17 · 27/11/2016 10:23

Are you kidding me, he's done nothing but whinge!!!

Roussette · 27/11/2016 11:07

I don't think he has... he just does the tasks, he isn't Adam with his fake screaming and whimpering.

Martin didn't ask Larry, he just said to him... sorry if my choice of two sticks annoyed you or words to that effect.

Martin IS irritating beyond belief. I just don't think he deserves to have this said to him by Larry.

'There are amazing people down there Martin - they're all better than you, just like I'm better than you'

No one on there is amazing!!

BeckerLleytonNever · 27/11/2016 15:41

Totes gone off Lasrry and Wayne now for the bitching about Martin- not that Im a Martin fan, hes as irritating as hell, but that tirade from larry was totally UNCALLED FOR, AND IM GLAD SCARLETT AND sAM heard it (bloody fat fingers and bad typing!) but nmo one ever seems to stick up for martin (when hes not whinging and showing his arse!), they all seem to leave him out, and I did feel sorry for him after suggesting the drawing straws, as usual everyone told him to shut up and then in the end decided to draw straws with njo apology to martin or saying 'you were right Martin'.

cant stand Adam now, he said when made VP 'everyone has to pull their weight' but hes the laziest there, does nothing at all except be a loudmouth.

hope he or \larry go tonight.

Chopstick17 · 27/11/2016 16:09

Martin is not a team player. It's all about him. Look at the way he played out the story of how many stars he got. He's very woe is me , very needy and I dislike him. Larry could have brushed over it but he told him what he thought to his face and I respect that. Martin can choose to take the advice or not, he didn't belittle him in front of everyone. I didn't really like him bitching to Wayne but hey sometimes you have to share to let off some steam.

Chopstick17 · 27/11/2016 16:09

And he has whinged so much about beans. Like a toddler not a grown man.

Roussette · 27/11/2016 16:42

Yes, he's whinged about beans... who knows if this is careful editing though. I still think Larry was nasty. Everyone but Larry seem to tolerate Martin quite happily.

CherryChasingDotMuncher · 27/11/2016 17:01

When he was moaning about eating beans and they had to persuade him to do it, I have had that exact conversation with my toddler. I'd hate to have it with a 50-odd year old man!

maddiemookins16mum · 27/11/2016 17:16

Martin is being everso slightly ganged up on, mainly because this series is as dull as dishwater and he's the only fodder.

deloresclaiborne · 27/11/2016 17:24

did anyone go out last night (saturday)

LIZS · 27/11/2016 17:25

No it was a trial vote. Eviction tonight.

deloresclaiborne · 27/11/2016 17:26

ok thanks

Chipstick10 · 27/11/2016 17:40

I feel quite vindicated . Pages and pages back, perhaps the second show I said I thought Larry was controlling. I've never liked him or his smug, sarcastic son who thinks he's the dogs bollocks

Roussette · 27/11/2016 17:52

I'm getting very confused. We have chipstick10 and chopstick10.

Chop doesn't like Martin but likes Larry. Chip is the reverse.

Or something... [cnfused]

woodhill · 27/11/2016 17:56

Larry is a rude old git, gone off him, he knows it all then he is nasty to anyone who isn't like him i.e.
Martin

thatdearoctopus · 27/11/2016 18:30

This happens every year. Someone behaves badly and pisses off their camp-mates. The minute any of them express their understandable frustrations, they're accused of "ganging up" or "bullying."

Happens in real life too.

PigletWasPoohsFriend · 27/11/2016 18:31

Larry is a rude old git

Sorry but what has his age got to do with it?

ego147 · 27/11/2016 20:01

The editors are giving too much screen time to certain people and not to others. I don't think it's that interesting - but DS loves it purely for the challenges.

I do wonder who is playing it up for the TV and their future and who is just being 'natural'?

I did have to laugh though when Martin 'spilt' water over Adam. I think I'm warming to Adam as he seems to be having fun and not taking it too seriously.

woodhill · 27/11/2016 20:17

True his age has nothing to do with it Smile

Leeds2 · 27/11/2016 20:28

I hope Larry goes tonight, but think it will be Jordan.

Who is Larry's son?

CherryChasingDotMuncher · 27/11/2016 20:31

They're definitely lining Adam up to win it. Apparently he had a rant about Danny leaving saying it should have been Martin, yet they didn't show it last night 🤔
