I think they just portrayed us (teen mums) in Britain the way everyone sees us tbh. Immature, and well just immature. Sad really..

OhFuds · 03/11/2016 21:39

I felt like I was watching a Jeremy Kyle programme Sad

The one whose bf cheated, her mum is driving around in a Range Rover and it looked a big house surely if your teen is crying her eyes out you say pack your stuff and come home rather than let her and the baby go back to a caravan.

DeleteOrDecay · 03/11/2016 21:43

Yeah exactly Fuds that's why a small part of me thinks the caravan is for the cameras. I just can't imagine allowing my child to live in a tiny caravan in her boyfriends mums front garden. I know kids need to learn to stand on their own two feet but I'd like to think If I was able to help them at least get set up in a proper home somewhere then I would, if not for them but for the baby.

I'm really hoping they move into a proper home at some point in the series.

I think perhaps Megan (and definitely her boyfriend Dillon) are travellers so the caravan thing is probably not such a big deal to them and their families if that's the case. A wedding would usually be paid for by the girl's father in the traveller community.

I cringed watching this, I'd hate to think of anyone watching and think this is what teens (and teen parents) in Britain are like. The girl struggling with her weight seemed the only sensible one.

The girl saying her bfs baby with his ex is like hers needs a big reality check.

The kardashian one annoyed me as soon as she opened her mouth.

I sometimes read a teen mom sub reddit forum and there are a few people asking where you can watch the uk version online if you're in the usa. I imagine they'll struggle to understand a few of the girl's accents and motives.

DigestiveMuncher · 10/11/2016 15:07

Did anyone watch the second episode yesterday???

OhFuds · 10/11/2016 15:29

I watched it today, I thought it was slightly better than last week's. I feel for Megan but the clutter in her caravan is annoying me haha. I think she's going to look back on this in 10yrs time and think why did I waste my teenage years with a cheating boyfriend.

DigestiveMuncher · 10/11/2016 16:06

Yeah I thought it was a bitter better than last week!!
And oh god I know, I got a bit excited when it showed them moving the caravan I thought they were getting rid of it and moving into a house or something, was a bit like what? when they said they were moving too a proper caravan park!!
I really hope there not planning on staying init surely it's cold in the winter and once the little one gets old enough where is he going to play?? Where do they bath him etc >face palms<

I honestly thought she would of got rid of him!!
Taking someone back who cheated on you with your best friend the night before Valentine's Day and getting proposed to on Valentine's Day because he probably felt guilty Hmm not for me!!

DeleteOrDecay · 11/11/2016 16:41

I can't believe Megan got back with Dylan, I can't see them lasting to be honest.

Has anyone seen the advert for next week? They buy a horse apparently? A HORSE! Ffs they could have used that money to get a house or at least get a bigger caravan?

OP posts:
Amithenormalone · 11/11/2016 16:50

I think that Megan and Dylan with the caravan is related to being travellers specially now they are buying a house. I don't think the small caravan even crosses there minds it seems normal to them.

PeggyMitchell123 · 11/11/2016 17:04

I didn't think any of them came across badly but they are very young and will make mistakes. Editing as well will play a part, the show is more focused on the drama with their boyfriends.

I liked the one who was struggling with confidence and weight because I think most mothers can relate regardless of age. I also liked Megan, if I was her mum I would just be telling her to come home. I thought her stepdad didn't need to choose the moment she was crying about her cheating boyfriend to tell her what a mistake she made having a kid young. It just seemed too harsh for me.

ParisGellar · 11/11/2016 17:20

Oh I love Teen Mum. Definitely not as good as the US one so far, probably because I don't 'know' these girls yet and I've grown attached to the US Moms. Think it could be good though! Megan and Dylan are the most exciting so far.

ParisGellar · 11/11/2016 17:20

Oh and Amber is rubbish and boring.

OhFuds · 11/11/2016 18:22

Is Amber the one from Blackpool?

I'm slowly beginning to tell all the dark haired ones apart.

DeleteOrDecay · 11/11/2016 19:38

I agree Peggy I like Megan's step dad definitely chose the wrong moment to have a go at her. I felt really bad for her.

OP posts:
DeleteOrDecay · 11/11/2016 19:40

*i also think, not I like

OP posts:
DigestiveMuncher · 12/11/2016 22:45

I also agree that Megan's stepdad was far too harsh! I wouldn't dream of bringing the fact she had a child young up and saying what a "mistake" it was. Surely no child is a mistake.

OhFuds · 16/11/2016 20:49

WTF who buys a horse then keeps it in a back garden Shock.

DigestiveMuncher · 16/11/2016 20:55

Who buys a horse when you haven't got a flipping house!!!!! Shock

SydneyCarton · 16/11/2016 20:57

Anyone else disappointed that Amber's date didn't have a facial beard Grin ?

DigestiveMuncher · 16/11/2016 21:03

Yes!!! Is it just me that didn't think he was that interested in her Confused

DeleteOrDecay · 16/11/2016 21:05

Facial beardGrin

I was Shock at the horse thing. You can't just go and buy a horse without putting at least some thought into it, where it's going to stay, costs etc. Glad they got rid in the end, bloody ridiculous idea. Poor horse.

I really felt for Mia, she seemed to find being a new mum really hard and Manley's family should have been more supportive.

notgivingin789 · 16/11/2016 23:02

I usually avoid teen mum pregnancy shows..simply because I was a teen mum and it brings back some sad memories. But I'll definitely be watching this show !

LittleMoomins · 17/11/2016 10:21

Just watched last nights episode and I feel so awful for Mia, she must constantly be comparing herself to her boyfriend's ex and so low of Manley's family to bitch about her.

Also, in the preview for next week it looks like Mia's MIL is crying about her leaving? I find that so frustrating that a mother should be made to feel guilty for going somewhere else with her newborn. It's her baby, not the MIL's! Ugh.

OhFuds · 17/11/2016 10:37

I feel sorry for Mia too but I feel if she's going to say things like "I love Manley's other daughter like my own" and "I feel like I have 2 daughter's" like she did in previous episodes she need to make a effort with the other mum, instead of hating and being jealous of her.

I liked how Chloe is out the house and doing things now but Megan is a wreck, horses, buying loads of glasses and then selling none of her glittery crap, can't pay the rent on the caravan but is off to Spain.

None of these dad's have any good qualities.

notgivingin789 · 17/11/2016 11:10

Mia seems so sweet and bubbly. I felt like she had an idealist (utopian) view pre pregnancy (don't we all!). I do feel she needs to reconcile and get past the jealousy in regards to her boyfriends ex. Though I must say, she is handling this quite maturely...seeing her ex's baby has hers, not getting in the way of her ex seeing his child(as they are some women like this !). Though honestly if my boyfriend got someone else pregnant, that will be it, I'm done. I do feel bad that Manleys parents aren't supportive of her but Manley needs to take a stand for her.

Naomi- I really do feel for her ! She needs to let go of this guy the sooner the better...none of this unesscessary drama (it just gives me a headache watching it). Otherwise, she'll soon be having baby number two and he still be a dick.

Amber- I haven't really warmed to Amber yet, I liked the fact that she was confident, stood her ground (in terms of the relationship between her and Steven) and was going out and dating.
