Wanted to make this a separate thread to make it obvious.

I didn't know this until I saw it mentioned it somewhere else today. Fox are showing the walking dead at 2.30 am!

I won't manage to watch it - I'm 7 months pregnant and my 3 year old isn't sleeping well but if you were able, it would be cool.

MsAdorabelle, that's assuming she's reverted back to being the Carol we all know and love. In other words - Zombie meat cloak wearing, carrying tons of ammo Carol.
But, If she's going though her stepford wives little cardigan, pearls and cookie baking phase, we're all doomed!

Frankly, there's something really creepy about Carol when she gets all domesticated. Hmm

Bigfam · 23/11/2016 11:23

Apparently ofcom are investigating the first episode of season 7, for the level of violence.... Even though they'd already cut quite a lot of the head bashing and completely removed the gurgling glen scene.

MsAdorabelleDearheartVonLipwig · 23/11/2016 11:48

They hadn't on NowTV, it was pretty graphic. It's not as if anyone didn't know what was going to happen though surely? They do warn you at the start. I suppose if you happened to turn the channel over at that precise time though it might be a bit of a shock.

Bigfam · 23/11/2016 12:15

They cut the episode premier on sky that started at 9pm. They didn't when they aired it at 2am on the monday morning though. I assumed it was OK because it was after 9pm?

I have to say I found the tv show less disturbing than the comic (which the show fairly faithfully represented). Somehow seeing it drawn out as stationary art was harder to tolerate.

Besides, with the walking dead you know what you get in terms of gore and you knew a death by Lucille was coming. I'm surprised people were surprised.

onelastpigout · 23/11/2016 16:05

Yeah, it's funny how it's alright for us to watch hundreds of zombie getting their heads bashed, in every single episode, but not one of the main characters.

Also, if you found the opening scene too graphic, maybe TWD's not for you.
Stock to Downton Abbey.

onelastpigout · 23/11/2016 16:05

Stick

HiDBandSIL · 23/11/2016 16:38

I love the Walking Dead but this season isn't doing anything for me. It's so slow moving (which has always been a problem with TWD) and every episode is basically the same old shit about Neagan being intimidating. We get it. Move on.

TheInternetIsForPorn · 23/11/2016 16:44

I think they have an issue here with the group being spread out too. An entire season location jumping each episode will get weary. I hope they start tying things in together again in the next couple of episodes.

FoxesOnSocks · 23/11/2016 18:34

I'd say you're right there TheInternetIsForPorn, they are showing Negan being menacing with all the groups and there's a few of them scattered about now.

FoxesOnSocks · 23/11/2016 18:36

Oh meant to ask (it's possibly be asked before and I missed it). Anyone read/listened to the books?

I just got the first one from my library - it's proving enjoyable.

MsAdorabelleDearheartVonLipwig · 23/11/2016 23:05

I didn't say I found it too graphic, just that it was obviously graphic. I've watched it since the start, nothing shocks me now.

It is getting boring though. Disjointed and full of Negan and his ego.

DontOpenDeadInside · 24/11/2016 11:26

Foxes, I've read all the books. I loved reading all about the Governors past. There's a really strong female character in them too, who I think is great.

mellysam · 25/11/2016 08:16

I think the women will pull it out the bag - Maggie & Sasha at the Hilltop, Michonne at Alexandria, Carol at the Kingdom, and Dwight's 'ex' wife at Neagan's camp. They will somehow rally together, kick butt and smash up Neagan's smug face with Lucille whilst Rick/Daryl are broken. Then Daryl will shower and Carol will bake cookies, and they'll all live happily ever after Grin

mellysam · 25/11/2016 08:21

Oh and violence wise, Maggie getting punched in the stomach whilst pregnant made me feel more sick than the smashy squishy heads

OohNoDooEy · 25/11/2016 15:10

Yes Melly I think Negan's warped ideas about not hurting women but smashing men in the head with Lucille Hmm will come back to bite him in the bum. Rosita definitely has an axe to grind over Abe too.

I found this week a bit slow and hoping that it builds to something soon.

HiDBandSIL · 25/11/2016 15:22

I hope melly is right Smile

mellysam · 25/11/2016 17:36

Oh yes Rosita too!

TheDrsDocMartens · 25/11/2016 19:34

I'm rewatching from the start, just passed Housewife-assassin Carol , love that bit!

I forgot about seeing Dwight in the burnt out forest. He's very different there to when we see him next

TheDrsDocMartens · 25/11/2016 19:35

Yes to rise of the women! Sounds excellent.
Add Enid to it too, she's canny!

StealthPolarBear · 26/11/2016 22:00

Maggie got punched in the stomach?
I love the Gregory story. A weak and useless leader.

Just delurking to say my DP feels the need to point out Trevor from GTA 5 every time he comes on screen Grin.

I had a massive crush on Daryl to start with, especially around series 3 in the prison, whem he held baby Judith for the first time. BUT unwashed greasy Daryl has been doing nothing for me for a long while now. Am totally ready for him to get a hosing down!

I can't believe they're being investigated for the level of violence - don't people KNOW about the walking dead by now??? As PP said, maybe the complainants should stick to Downton

mellysam · 28/11/2016 10:36

Ah Dixie maybe its that i'm remembering, the fight with that saviour woman before Carol impaled her on something and the zombies ate her alive... Yep. Walking dead has always been violent!
I think people just don't seem to notice as much when its not one of the main characters Hmm
