Wanted to make this a separate thread to make it obvious.

I didn't know this until I saw it mentioned it somewhere else today. Fox are showing the walking dead at 2.30 am!

I won't manage to watch it - I'm 7 months pregnant and my 3 year old isn't sleeping well but if you were able, it would be cool.

I think it was far more graphic than GoT. I found it extremely difficult to watch (watched on sky on demand and so I saw the full unedited version). I felt quite drained afterwards and I am generally fine with TWD (and GoT).

FOFONAR · 27/10/2016 14:54

I've found it easier to watch after watching a clip from the talking dead with The Glenn actor messing about with that horrific make up on.

The baby storyline made me angry (I know it's not real) but I couldn't understand that choice.

CaptainBrickbeard · 27/10/2016 15:40

I wouldn't make that choice in their circumstances but I understand it - what are they fighting to survive for if not a future? I guess they thought Alexandria was a stable, long term prospect and they saw how Judith gave everyone hope and a reason to keep going.

Twiterati · 27/10/2016 16:05

I too can't understand how anyone would deliberately choose to bring a child into that scenario. It's true that most birth control methods would have disappeared but there would still be the natural rhythm method. For me personally the thought of pregnancy in that world would be a horrific nightmare even given that Alexandria was considered a safe place and a doctor nearby...but then again maybe it would be our instinct to produce and survive?

Haggisfish · 27/10/2016 16:13

I think it would be an instinct. People are currently still having children in active war zones and other horrendous places.

StealthPolarBear · 27/10/2016 16:40

Really interesting thread :) I agree to some extent you can't just survive you have to continue your genes, babies!
I'm sure Maggie was close to death in the last episode, she seems to hae recovered somewhat and that storyline has been dropped

DarylDixonsJockstrap · 27/10/2016 18:22

Loving this thread! Just saying.

myyoyo · 27/10/2016 18:38

Did Carol get over her pathetic and helpless phase? I can't remember.

StealthPolarBear · 27/10/2016 19:00

Oh yes don't you remember her making cookies in Alexandria to get hold of the weapons?

Bigfam · 27/10/2016 19:23

I think it's on going, it's certainly why her and Morgan weren't with the rest of the group, she had a wobble and ran off and came across a group that tried to kill her, she begged them to leave her alone before it was too late but ended up killing them in the end, all but one, who then very nearly killed her but Morgan shot him before he killed her myyoyo, I must admit I liked her when she took down terminus and put on the 'sweet cookie lady' act at alexandria, all while telling the little boy sam how he'd end up being eaten by the monsters and he'd be screaming for help! (Which was what happened to him, I think that was part of the reason she went all soppy)

Maggie is still ill - the storyline hasn't been dropped. She's going to Hilltop to see the doctor and wanted to go alone so the others wouldn't be out anymore.

myyoyo · 27/10/2016 21:41

Carol has always been closest to Daryl. Perhaps she will snap back to her old self to save him. (hopeful)

StealthPolarBear · 27/10/2016 22:08

Ah is that what she meant?
I suppose to them probably only an hour or two has passed. It seems like longer to me - she was acutely ill and therefore sone thing should have happened if you see what I mean

cardibach · 27/10/2016 23:22

It was just over one night and I expect adrenaline has helped her cope!

Twiterati · 28/10/2016 12:38

I must admit I was hoping 'Jesus' and his mates would put in an appearance and rescue Rick et al but obviously I was wrong...

Abraiid2 · 28/10/2016 12:41

They have to reproduce otherwise as they age they will have nobody fit enough to defend them or hunt and grow food. It's imperative to create new people.

MiddleClassProblem · 28/10/2016 14:46

DH and I would always discuss how the hell they managed to keep Judith alive and find everything she needs and keep her quiet when they're in lock down in a church/walking through a pack of zombies pretending to fit in.

FOFONAR · 28/10/2016 18:55

I couldn't cope with the responsibility of parenting in a zombie apocalypse, it's bad enough in real life!

atticusclaw2 · 28/10/2016 19:03

Being responsible for anyone else would make it ten times as hard. Bring a child into the mix and you'd surely drive yourself crazy.

I have a "zombie cupboard" at home for emergencies. I know I wouldn't have one if I didn't have DC. And that's in a world where there's no such thing as zombies!

MiddleClassProblem · 28/10/2016 21:07

Maybe we should build a MN bunker...

Abraiid2 · 28/10/2016 21:25

I think it would make it a bit better. You would have to keep going, finding shelter and food, for the sake of the child. You couldn't despair.
