For those who loved it last time, will you watch after the let down of the ending? (Well I felt it was a let down, don't think there was a proper conclusion at all and still room for doubts as to whether he was still alive or not).

I loved it though and will definitely be watching the next series. I've seen the trailer and it looks very very good. Julian (think that was his name) is still in it. Looks like it is based on JayCee Dugard/Elizabeth Fritz type cases where they have gone missing as children and reappeared years later.

Cannot wait!

I imagine you would remember it in detail - I imagine that while you're locked up without much else to do, you'd go over it in your head thinking of what you could have done different and what outcome that would have had

BeyondReasonablyDoubts · 16/10/2016 09:08

I certainly got the impression from Alice/Sophie that Sophie/Alice was already dead?

FoxesOnSocks · 16/10/2016 12:20

I'm with BeyondReasonablyDoubts on this one. I'd imagine 11 years in a basement doesn't give much opportunity of other events to make you forget being snatched and raped.

She said that her capture said 'i'll aways be your firsts' so did he know she was a virgin (and therefore knew her well before the kipnsp) or did he just presume?

Charley50 · 16/10/2016 13:00

Hang on a minute!! The first series.. I thought the boy was presumed murdered by the rich guy who had a boat? Not run over? Did I fall asleep at a crucial moment? Or an I getting mixed up with another of the many series about missing youngsters?

Manumission · 16/10/2016 13:14

You probably need to rewatch it Grin

Manumission · 16/10/2016 13:15

It's a fairly standard about an eleven year old isn't it foxes?

Manumission · 16/10/2016 13:16

Fairly standard assumption, that is.

HarryPottersMagicWand · 16/10/2016 13:21

I would have thought the day she was captured was burned into her memory.

However, I did find it odd that she was perfectly willing to give great detail to a room full of people, most of which were strangers and some men. I won't go into it, but I have had to give details once and it was the most painful thing ever and I'll never do it again.

Confusing but think good

But better not end up like end of last series

Needed closure - either dead and a body or chance alive like Nesbit thought

giraffesCantReachTheirToes · 16/10/2016 18:15

I'm rewatching again this eve. Totally missed loads in first episode. I'm hooked already

giraffesCantReachTheirToes · 16/10/2016 19:02

How soon does the army guy commit suicide before "Sophie dies?" Could he have been holding her then she escaped cos he died?

Totally don't get the roller coaster photos

SestraClone · 16/10/2016 19:15

Why are we not talking about Baptiste dying from a brain tumour? Only weeks left does that mane no S3?

I don't think Aldi and funeral woman look the same? Totally different mouth and eyes?

What was the significance of Baptiste being followed? Would they have thrown that in for nothing?

I thought Daniel's dad was the kidnapper, but that would be too convenient. It was an oddly shaped blood stain - and it was in a weird place?

kimlo · 16/10/2016 19:20

I thought the blood stain was in a funny place as well, all I could think of was he was stood in front of the wall and shot himself.

I do think aldi wonan and soilder woman were the same person.

I also think that it was Alice that came back.

LarkDescending · 16/10/2016 19:22

giraffes

The dates on Henry Reed's coffin are 27.10.1966 - 14.12.2014.

The dates on Alice Webster's gravestone are 13.05.1992 - 22.12.2014.

kimlo · 16/10/2016 19:23

so about the time she came back?

SestraClone · 16/10/2016 19:35

Is Alice's dad the one eyed Governor from TWD?

diddl · 16/10/2016 19:42

"I don't think Aldi and funeral woman look the same?"

They are both Lia Williams.

"Is Alice's dad the one eyed Governor from TWD?"

Yes.

SestraClone · 16/10/2016 19:47

Wow, they made her look very very different in the Aldi scene then Shock I wouldn't have said that was the same person at all!

MiddleClassProblem · 16/10/2016 20:14

giraffesCantReachTheirToes · 16/10/2016 21:47

Blondeshavemorefun · 16/10/2016 23:12

I am going to have to watch again

Seemed to have missed lots by your posts must not mn FB email text while watching tv

Anyone watched the returned? When the girl was walking looked just like the dam in it

MiddleClassProblem · 16/10/2016 23:17

Sorry wrong thread. Face palm!

AnnieNoMouse · 17/10/2016 10:46

I am impressed with everyone who identified Aldi woman and funeral woman on first viewing. I watched a second time last night and even knowing they were the same couldn't actually see it. But I watched One of Us and wouldn't have realised Eve Stone was the Scottish detective from that. So basically my facial recognition skills are very poor.

There was only one extra thing I noticed last night. (extra to what everybody has already put in this thread) At the cemetery Sam said to Gemma, about their son "He won't forgive me for what I've done" and she said "He [son] won't forgive himself for what he's done". So what did they do? Did they doubt Alice really was Alice but then realised she was, after her death? But in that case why was Julien so emphatic that Alice Webster wasn't Alice Webster? When I watched first time I thought he meant "Alice has come back a changed woman" but now I'm not so sure. And Julien wouldn't be wrong would he?
Also the writers/directors have a thing about the colour yellow. The whole Olleh story hinged on his yellow scarf. In this series not only is the camper van yellow, but I noticed a lot of yellow in Julien's kitchen - his daughter's jumper, the peppers on the table ...

AnnieNoMouse · 17/10/2016 10:50

The blood stain - I'm not sure that was a blood stain. It looked like a spillage that had initially been mopped up with dry towels/mop whatever and then the son had returned to remove all traces with soap and water. Was it not too red for oxidised blood? And his attitude seemed a bit casual. He looked like he arrived home not expecting to see it there but he wasn't shocked when he noticed it, more resigned - as in, "dad's spilled the wine again, I'd better clean it up."

MiddleClassProblem · 17/10/2016 11:03

I really hope no wine was harmed in the making of this programme. That was my fear. Was it below a mezzanine? (Still haven't rewatched it).

Re not forgiving convo. Could that be to do with the fire? Maybe including Alice and something to do with son's drugs or do we think drugs came after the assumed fire?
