I heard there was going to be an interview in the Sun, giving his reasons. So t he Daily Mail won't like that so will make things up about why he left like they do with everything else

ppeatfruit · 13/10/2016 09:18

Thanks Jasonisaacs They don't make it clear though do they?

I noticed Zoe mentioning that Lesley and Anton are abroad for this week making an Xmas Birds of A Feather.

That is what it looks like MrsJayy Grin

Liiinoo · 13/10/2016 11:57

Anastacia is on This Morning. Seems to be implying that it is unfair to hold a woman of her age to the same dance standard as a young gymnast. Therefore she should be able to modify the moves to something more age/fitness appropriate and still get marked as highly. Which I guess might be true if superior acting/performance offset the easier choreography (which hers hasn't so far IMO) but it is still seems a bit sour grapes.

Did anyone else see it? Am I interpreting her correctly?

ppeatfruit · 13/10/2016 12:01

No I didn't see it. But I noticed that there was no mention of her injuries by Ian Waite when he was criticising her dancing yesterday on ITT2. That seems a bit mean IMO. if she's so injured she should leave IMO.

Lesley's doing well and she's much older than Anast!!! I think Grin.

MrsJayy · 13/10/2016 12:16

Yes I saw it she seemed to be saying well I'm not quite fit my marks should reflect that and she was also bangi g on about she was unaware there was a dance off urm OK Anastasia

ppeatfruit · 13/10/2016 12:19

she was unaware there was a dance off Really MrsJjay ?? Hmm Hmm I wonder what she thought it was about. ? Grin

MoonriseKingdom · 13/10/2016 12:29

I think Lesley is in great shape at 70. Anastacia is quite a few years younger but has had some serious health issues. Anastacia is only a couple of years older than Katie Derham who got high scores in some of the dances, especially ballroom. I think charleston is the main dance where Claudia's acrobatics will help her. Can't see it is such an advantage for dances like waltz. You would imagine her performance and acting skills to be greater than a sportsperson but haven't seen much evidence of it yet.

MoonriseKingdom · 13/10/2016 12:31

That should read Anastacia's performance and acting skills should be better than a sportsperson.

MrsJayy · 13/10/2016 12:54

So she said apparently on DWTS they don't do dance offs and she thought it was the same Hmm

Lilinoo

I didn't see the interview, but if what you say is correct, then she should stop sniffing glue. I agree it looks like sour grapes.

Okay - on average younger, fitter people have a better chance of learning and improving quickly, but if she didn't like the playing field she shouldn't have joined in the game.

Other series have come and gone, and the same criteria have applied, and people have just accepted that that is how it is and enjoyed the time they had on the she, collected their cash at the end and went away more or less contented.

Why should this mardy-faced cow have the rulebook re-written for her (Oh - I forgot! She already has).

I mean - how would you go about handicapping people the way they do racehorses. "X is over 50 - she gets an extra 2 marks added to her score; Y has no sense of rhythm. Give him 3 points. Z is total to cope with a quickstep. He can have an extra 1 point on alternate dances."

And anyway, if that's what she wants, and she gets it, Lesley Joseph will wipe the floor with her. Grin

2kids2dogsnosense · 13/10/2016 13:09

Z is total to cope with a quickstep

TOO TALL not total.

For the love of Mike, autocorrect . . . (rolls eyes)

ppeatfruit · 13/10/2016 13:14

2kids Grin I HATE autocorrect it's not usually correct IMO Grin It also doesn't have a memory. ime.

2kids2dogsnosense · 13/10/2016 13:17

Ppeat

It is a bliddy nightmare, isn't it?

I think it does it on purpose.

ppeatfruit · 13/10/2016 13:22

Yup and it doesn't approve of my faux cockney expressions !!!!! Dropping aitches etc. !!

mixedpeel · 13/10/2016 15:05

DangerQuakeRhinoSnake, no, I did not get a glimpse of Brendan's DQRS, or whatever it may be that he has under there.

Embarrassingly for me, I think the trouser things were some kind of cream chinos, maybe even (whisper it) slacks, hence I was unwilling to mention them in the context of a melting moment.

Though I suspect they were critical to the overall effect.

ppeatfruit · 13/10/2016 15:16

mixedpeel Brendan is such a blokey bloke , he doesn't come across as a dancer,if I met him without knowing , (ignoring the way he carries himself ) I wouldn't guess that was what he did for a living Grin He dances well, too good for Anast. IMO Grin

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 13/10/2016 15:20

He was a builder in his youth I think.

OP posts:
ppeatfruit · 13/10/2016 15:29

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 13/10/2016 16:00

Late teens/early twenties, in case anybody think I'm saying Kiwi health and safety is lax!

OP posts:
TimTamTerrier · 13/10/2016 18:05

He can't be that young ppeat, he's been there since the beginning and we're on series 14.

KimmySchmidtsSmile · 13/10/2016 18:34

Karen has called out the Daily Fail journos with #liars so reports of her and Will squabbling appear to be exaggerated.

KimmySchmidtsSmile · 13/10/2016 18:36

Brendan is 40. He learnt to dance in Clayton, bless, aged 18.

GrouchyKiwi · 13/10/2016 19:07

I think apprentices start on Kiwi building sites aged about 16. At least, my brother did (and now he owns his own business and is marvellous &c). I can see that Brendan has the build- shape for it.

Judging from ITT, it looks like there'll be a few good routines this weekend. Huzzah.

ppeatfruit · 13/10/2016 20:43

Crikey thanks kimmy Grin it must be like policemen when you get to my age Grin A bloody good dancer, shame about his diva - ish partner Grin
