The Fall is back on RTE 1 in Sunday at 9.30
Jamie Dornan survives I think.
Looking forward to it.

Will Gillian Anderson still be wearing those lush silk blouses?
Anyone know where they are from?

I think it's the physicality of him - for the 1st time instead of dreaming of snagging him when they linger on his biceps or whatever, he just looked like a big scary beast tonight! And when he said he didn't recognise his body it was like he suddenly realised he had a weapon he could use!

SwedishEdith · 29/10/2016 00:07

Yes, he's lovely when interviewed - and funny.

TheHiphopopotamus · 29/10/2016 00:13

Oh Lord, apart from the attack in the interview room I found the whole thing ridiculous. I think I must've been watching a different show to you all

I agree with you actually. Apart from this last episode, the whole lot has been a bit tedious. Also, the idea that they would have left someone that violent alone with a nurse who fits the profile of his victims was ridiculous HmmHe managed to seriously injure two police officers in an bloody police station ffs.

Also, criminal psychiatric units just leaves snooker cues lying around, do they?

MrsFring · 29/10/2016 00:15

I love GA though. If I ever Rode On The Other Bus she'd be top of my list.

Flyingbellycopters · 29/10/2016 00:24

The kids were with foster parents cos Sally Ann tried to kill them when she attempted suicide.

Spectre said series 1 he wanted to protect children - because of his abuse presumably. So that could be why he killed the other inmate as he'd raped and killed a 12 yr old. And paul is a psycho who likes killing and needed quiet room for committing suicide a bit like his mothers.

But who the hell were fresh flowers from in Stella's flat on kitchen counter and what was the letter she opened? I'm clueless.

FoxesOnSocks · 29/10/2016 00:24

Just looking at pictures of JD from when he was going out with Kiera Knightly- I think being a serial killer must have givien him that je ne sais quoi

OlennasWimple · 29/10/2016 00:26

I had pondered the wisdom of allowing suspected psychopaths to be interviewed without being handcuffed and large policemen present in the interview room - then tonight we had all that, leading to an attack (which was acted brilliantly, BTW - JD's eyes were like pools of darkness) and then now-known-violent-man allowed to mingle freely with everyone else rather than being kept in solitary. Hmm

That investigation into red-haired man's death, the handling of the incident and PS's death is going to be pretty damning...

I believe Jim must have been abused as a boy. Not at all surprised that he resigned at the end - best outcome for him.

Also ridiculous that Stella was allowed to have a little cosy chat with Katie, who is on remand, hates the authorities and would have insisted on having a lawyer there. I think the actress who plays her is good (when she was told that PS didn't even know she existed! Teenage heart broken), but the character was a bit one-dimensional and whiney.

Where were Sally Ann's parents, either to look after the children or to be there when they were told about their dad's death? I'm assuming that she has been sectioned (though I doubt she would ever actually face charges of attempted murder). Does this mean PS's children are doomed to grow up in the care system, like he did...? Sad

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 29/10/2016 00:31

The flowers were dead. She was just pondering and opening her post she picked up from the doormat.

Flyingbellycopters · 29/10/2016 00:33

The flowers in vase were dead. The fresh wrapped bouquet on counter wasn't.

Rrross1ges · 29/10/2016 00:33

Well I got my scary murder. He was monstrous tonight.

OlennasWimple · 29/10/2016 00:33

She didn't have a lot of junk mail, did she? And I would have expected her to have a cleaner, who would have cleared the flowers up...

OlennasWimple · 29/10/2016 00:34

Was A&E doctor flirting with her?

LadyConstanceDeCoverlet · 29/10/2016 00:42

I was pretty sure he killed Bailey to punish him. Didn't he use more or less the same method as Bailey did to kill his sister?

However I wasn't 100% clear whether he fully intended to kill himself. Was there a moment where he seemed to put his hand up as if he were trying to take the ligature off?

I think the creepy nurse will feature quite strongly in the next series. Wasn't that her writing on the money that Stella put up on the notice board?

FoxesOnSocks · 29/10/2016 00:59

bailey broke his sisters arm, them raped her, took her outside and she was crushed to death in a bin lorry, so no connection with how Spector killed him.

I really felt that the psychiatric nurse was attempting to provoke Spector into harming Bailey, he didn't seem too bothered either that Bailey was dead

MrsFring · 29/10/2016 01:15

Do you think that the flowers were from nice a&e doc? He did ask her if she liked flowers. Possible love interest for the new series? He's married but that's never stopped her before.

What was the inference from the fairy story at the end?

EverySongbirdSays · 29/10/2016 01:47

www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2016/oct/28/the-fall-why-were-we-ever-excited-about-this-dead-dog-of-a-show

What do people think?

Though this episode was dramatically better than all that preceded it - I tend to agree with this review, except for about unrealistically understaffed mental health units (ho ho, he's completely off there more like unrealistically overstaffed!!)

ample · 29/10/2016 02:02

Just finished the last episode.
Surprised Gibson was back at work so quickly after that pounding. What, no swelling?

Knew Spector was feigning it but I didn't think he would do himself in.

I was totally into the A&E Dr. I had hopes of a fling but where would they have found the time! Grin

OlennasWimple · 29/10/2016 03:54

The Telegraph looked upon it a bit more kindly

I agreed with the BTL comment on the Guardian site that it's ripe for the French and Saunders Xmas special treatment....

littletike · 29/10/2016 07:42

I thought this series was rubbish until the last two episodes.

I thought perhaps given his age perhaps Burns had been present during the abuse sessions or been an abuser during the sessions and his guilt was why he was acting the way he was.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 29/10/2016 07:48

Ha ha The Guardian compared the psych to Hannibal tooGrin

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 29/10/2016 07:49

And now has Stella bought that house in London? It was enormous!

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 29/10/2016 07:59

**how

ReggaeShark · 29/10/2016 08:35

Telegrsph review says Spector was "confirmed to be genuinely suffering amnesia". Was he? I didn't think so.

Also missed the bouquet in Stella's kitchen at the end. Did she take it into the house? How did it get there?

Brontebiscuits · 29/10/2016 08:43

If he had some kind of disassociative disorder it could explain some non-organic memory loss I think. I still maintain he could have been and then either his memory started to come back or the 'evil' Paul just took over again. I thought it was interesting that he said he was intrigued by what he'd done. And the scene where he said he didn't recognise his body- another disassociative before he started violence/killing again?

hollyisalovelyname · 29/10/2016 09:09

Stella being questioned by the A&E Doctor- what was that about?
