Paul Hollywood is a snake!!!

Now for me, I am a fanatical Baker, I am usually knee deep in meringues but am i the only one who's skin crawls when every time they see that snake, Paul Hollywood on the tv. His recent departure to channel 4 has really shown his true colours.

Behind those dazzling blue eyes and that mahogony tan is a self obsessed saddo who doesn't care one bit about his colleagues (the queen of baking Mary Berry and the absolutely hilarious Mel and Sue).

He's desperate to be the next Simon Cowell and quite frankly its pathetic.

Well done to Channel 4 for hiring one of TVs biggest idiots!!!!

Sorry to the Paul Hollywood fans but I just had to get it off my chest lol!!

What does everyone else think?

I can't stand him, but I really can't see anything wrong with someone wanting to stay employed, especially in the fickle world of celebrity.

ManonLescaut · 23/09/2016 12:55

I can't stand him but he's got a wife and child to think of.

Mel & Sue don't have kids, Mary Berry's husband is wealthy enough.

BadTasteFlump · 23/09/2016 12:56

Why does the world seem to care so much? Confused.

He's ok I suppose, decent baker & presenter. I don't actually know him personally so can't really judge any further. Looks to me like somebody making a decision about his own career. How that makes him a snake I have no idea.

CalmItKermitt · 23/09/2016 12:59

Aprilskies- no, no - say more!! 😄

Elendon · 23/09/2016 13:01

Mel does have children, she has revived her career and saved the family home.

ManonLescaut · 23/09/2016 13:14

In that case can she really afford to walk away from 100 grand a year?

BluishSky · 23/09/2016 13:14

Well, my friend of a friend of a friend knows him personally... I shall say no more Wink

Seriously. What's the point posting things like that? Either say it, out yourself or don't post. You could be anybody telling the truth or not.

Feminazi · 23/09/2016 13:36

I have met him, and I can't say anything nice about him, so I won't say anything at all.

You're not wrong though DM!

gillybeanz · 23/09/2016 13:41

It's a tv programme he has a job that has transferred to a different location.
Good grief, would you complain about your neighbour transferring Grin

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 23/09/2016 13:43
Hmm It doesn't matter to you or anyone else (apart from his wife/girlfriend) if he's a celibate monk or he's f**ked a football team.

He's a TV Presenter.
His private life is just that.
Private.

And I like him as on on screen TV personality.

ZaZathecat · 23/09/2016 13:53

Where did Kanye West come up? I've scanned the whole thread 3 times!

Lj8893 · 23/09/2016 14:04

I'm so confused, what's a thread about Kayne West got to do with this thread? How does another thread make this thread racist?

witchywoohoo · 23/09/2016 14:05

Manon Mary Berry doesn't have to worry because she's got a wealthy husband? ??? Hmm Or maybe she's been working her arse off doing tv programs and cookery books when most folk are retired and has plenty of money of her own. Ffs!! Is it 1954 where you are?

DerekSprechenZeDick · 23/09/2016 14:05

Find the materialist thread and you shall see.

witchywoohoo · 23/09/2016 14:07

Can you link it derek....or maybe just explain?

HoneyDragon · 23/09/2016 14:10

I'm confused.

Last week all the Fail readers were following the approved line of

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr Bad BBC, with your cover ups and demands for money.

Now the BBCs the darling again and Hollywoods an arse.

winkywinkola · 23/09/2016 14:15

Isn't he being loyal to GBBO? Sticking with the programme and the production company?

Unfortunately for me, it's the women who make that show great.

Bestthingever · 23/09/2016 14:19

I don't get the appeal of Bake Off but it does annoy me that the BBC gave it a chance to grow and then when it becomes a success the production company cash in. Paul Hollywood was a nobody before the show. I think his star has been falling especially since the thing with his wife. He's probably worried he won't find another job which makes him very stupid as this move is career suicide. It's amazing how overwhelming public opinion is about this. He must be bricking it now.

IPityThePontipines · 23/09/2016 14:26

This whole GBBO thing is starting to reach bizarre levels of national hysteria, not seen since August 1997.

It's a baking show on telly, yet it's being discussed on the national news.

The BBC reported Mel & Sue deciding to quit as "Breaking News", it's ridiculous.

GingerbreadCake · 23/09/2016 15:53

For those asking about the racist thing:

There was a thread earlier where someone said she couldn't believe people were queuing for days to buy his trainers and almost immediately another person slammed her as racist! Grin

GingerbreadCake · 23/09/2016 15:54

I wonder if Channel 4 will cancel the cheque?

(Sorry couldn't resist that one. At least I didn't say maybe the channel 4 headquarters are in Maui.)

QuackDuckQuack · 23/09/2016 16:08

Presumably Mary Berry could choose to retire at this point. Or take a significant risk. I'd hope that she's at a point financially at 81 where she isn't reliant on her future earnings.

At 50, Paul Hollywood probably needs to take a more cautious approach to maintain his earnings. Being the GBBO continuity might well help provide him with better security.

Mel and Sue aren't comparable as they could present anything, Paul Hollywood is a baker, so would be unlikely to present a quiz or something like that.

yeOldeTrout · 23/09/2016 16:40

I'm glad Paul Hollywood is still employed. Too many folk are not employed.

ManonLescaut · 23/09/2016 21:37

Mary probably has got plenty of money of her own, but she's from a background where it's unlikely she would have to have worked if she hadn't wanted to. The point being that she's not the main breadwinner. If she and her husband don't have decent pensions I'd be surprised. And if you saw the size of her (old) house - she doesn't have to worry about money.

228agreenend · 23/09/2016 21:44

I also thought that Paul Hollywood could be seen as the loyal presenter moving with the show.
