Poldark - series 2

One week to go. Anyone else can't wait?
I've just started to rewatch the first series. Not sure if I'll get to watch it all again before next Sunday though.

Hello everyone I just discovered Poldark 2 Sundays ago, just by accident, I don't know what's been going on, but right now think 'Ross' is a right bastard. His poor wife can't wait for next week to see what happens.

I am all caught up too now.

I also saw the pregnant thing coming, so seems I was right about that one...

Dd was watching with me. She says 'what does Elizabeth do all day?'. answer...stands by the window pacing

So next week is the last one in this series, I wonder how long we will have to wait for season 3, as it was a looong wait for season 2.....

What happened to Dwight's horse. Why is he walking everywhere??

After the hideousness that was last weeks episode I feel a bit better after this week's. I was starting to hate Elizabeth but I like her again for pulling her shit together and fucking Ross off.

I do hope Demelza sees her at some point though and says 'I nursed your son when he was dying you bitch!'. That seems to be forgotten. Who shags the husband of the person who nursed your son back to health?!

Ross is a disgusting specimen. He's making George look quite lovely by comparison, and that's saying something.

How many series have there been?

I was hoping she would bring up Julia to Ross but no-one mentions her now

Not only did Demelza nurse Elizabeth's son back to health, didn't she bring the illness back to her own house and infect her own child who subsequently died?

Read them. Definitely read them!

Yes, definitely read them. You'll get so much info that you're not getting from the show which is galloping along.
You get much more of an insight into the smaller characters which is missing from the show.

I found the Scottish Captain really creepy. Malcolm? Like a bad version of Midge Ure.

Yep snozzlemum I think this series combines two books - Jeremy Poldark and Warleggan. I think I would end up being engrossed!

So what do we think will happen in the next episode? Will Demelza forgive him? Looks like he is off to the navy...

I really hope they kiss and make up in the next episode. I don't want it to become a cliff hanger at the end of series 2.

I haven't read the book but can only imagine that there will be some near tragic event - where Demelza nearly lose their life. Then Ross will fully appreciate what he has got and nearly lost .. and he will lose all interest in Elizabeth.

Or Demelza will pack up and leave him, although I can't see how practically possible that could be in those days ...

Anyone else sad that Dr Ennis is off to sea? He's mighty fine in uniform.

Oh dear... far too rushed an ending. There was no need to hurry through everything. A lot more could have been made of Ross and Demelza's reconciliation.

And actually, Caroline suggesting a quickie before Dwight leaves?

Having trouble with the idea that Caroline would risk her reputation and fortune to a) meet with (and snog!) Dr Ennis in a pub and b) have a night of passion. Did they wed?
