Just seen that this is starting on Monday 29th August at 8pm on Watch. Love this show so much! The British one is crap in comparison. DD and I watch this together every year - can't wait :)

Anyone else still watching? Matt is the best

I catch it over breakfast after the school run! They do seem very up and down.

Top 10 and Heston's back! Loved the big wheel challenge.

Loving it still

Want to hazard a guess as to who will win?

Teresa is on the up since she got back in. Harry is doing well. Matt (Judge Rinder Grin) is a family favourite

I'm way too invested in this season - and it's largely because of Matt. He's been set up as such a strong contender from day one that I think he's going to be a shock elimination (sad). But Brett and Elise really need to go before him, they're very lucky to have made it to top 10.

I love Heston but I think a couple of the challenges this week were really unfair. Firstly, the chocolate challenge, It was apparent from the very start that whoever had dark chocolate would win as long as they didn't monumentally mess up - milk and white choc just don't have the same complexity and depth of flavour.

Then the colour challenge - it's so unfair to pit orange or green against blue or indigo, that's such an uneven playing field: give everyone the same colour and then let's see how someone like Brett or Elise cope.

The colour thing was hard but stuffing lemon up when it's your favourite ingredient must have been frustrating. Can't believe Elise and Brett are still there.

I like Teresa, Matt is a bit cocky. I like Chloe but she's hanging on by her fingernails. I think the really tall girl might win.

We love Matt and the tall girl - Elena? Cant bear Chloe or Heather. Quite like Harry and Mimi, even though they can't say her name properly

I'm fairly sure Heather messed up with lemon in an elimination challenge previously - didn't she get lemon in the 1cm square blind tasting?

I think I like Matt partly because so many of the others seem to turn to him for advice and guidance. Harry seems pretty talented, but in the chocolate challenge (I think) his hair was all over the place and I could just imagine hair in the chocolate soil.

Teresa is so different since she came back, but I'd rather not see a returned contestant win. I do like Elena, she comes across really well, passionate and humble. I'm not into the number of dessert fanatics there are this year - I'd far rather see some gorgeous savoury dishes than yet another parfait or ice cream.

The desserts in the elimination challenges always look so sickly. Way too many processes for me. Just make a nice pudding instead of worry about bloody "theatre"

I loved this series. Saw it when we were in Australia in June and July. Much better than the uk version!

MKR UK is totally shite.
I lost the last 5 mins so don't know who won tonight.

I missed the tail end of masterchef last night (bloody sky plus chopped the end off) did Brett get the immunity pin? I quite like Brett, he seemed a bit of a bumbling buffoon at the beginning but he's made some lovely looking stuff recently and I'm quite fond of him now.

(I realise I might be ever so slightly over invested in an Aussie reality show...Grin)

No he got just beaten. Tonight's task looks tricky.

Thanks LIZS. I'm currently sitting with DD hoping she'll fall asleep in time for me to watch the apprentice - I realise I watch far too much telly- so will be watching master chef later (and hoping sky hasn't chopped the end off).

We've been watching it too. It's gripping. In a completely different league to UK masterchef which seems so boring and easy in comparison. I wish the UK version would be as competitive and nail biting. Even the Oz kids masterchef is better than our adult version.

Watch keeps chopping the end and the beginning off my recordings. How the feck did they get to San Francisco? This is my first series.

I like Elena and all of the others. I'm not keen on Airline e pilot and Elise and they are both doing well. I don't think Trent will win. Is Harry too much of a sure thing?

There was a big thing in Oz about them going to SFO. They got to fly business classs on Qantas. All sponsored etc. It really picks up now until the final. It's really good!

Davros · 08/11/2016 09:29

We love Elena and Matt but don't mind any of the others now the awful Chloe has left! I've said it many a time before on MC threads, but you can't compare it to the UK programme because it is on a commercial channel and heavily sponsored. The judges' clothes and contestants' shoes are even sponsored and there is a big prize. Ours is on the little old BBC and just can't do the things they do. I liove MC Oz but still prefer all the UK ones, they are just different. The cooking on MC Oz is very high standard and you see real improvement, partly because there are so many episodes. You should see MC USA for crap cooking, furious competitiveness and evil judging, it's great!

Mimi was lucky to be paired with Elena and Harry, their team dessert was better for the team effort. The difference in the main course came down to the meringue. I'm frightfully common/greedy cos if that's two courses I'd need a lot more of them.

Half way thru. I don't like the older guy. He's really getting in my tits asking the others for a time check, a timer, kitchen roll and hogging the kit. I want Harry and Mimi to go through from this round.

Matt's apron at the master classes reminds me too much of Dexter's apron...

Matt's cooking displays are rubbish. He's the uncle knobhead of the trio they all humour.
