No, there were a couple of Xmas Specials full of people who'd never done a full series: and those participants were split into some who clearly never could, and some who were clearly on the producers' list for a full series when schedules allowed.

Anyone else thinking the BBC are hoping to tempt a couple of Olympian's to take part this year?

Oooh I like Will Young, he's so talented and doesn't seem to have any 'brattishness' about him (I may be wrong of course ).

I've heard that Will Young is a total diva! Of course this was several years ago but he played a gig at a venue where a few people I know work in senior management. They said he had a rider as long as your arm - all fluffy white towels, baskets of puppies, etc

Thing is he doesn't play the game. Mark Frith (ex heat magazine) didn't think he'd win Pop idol, was very pro-Gareth, as a result Will had little time for him or the 3am girls so they relished in giving him bad press. He also wanted his privacy.
That said, he admitted himself that around 2005 he was a bit of a cock to all and sundry. But that was eleven years ago.

DS forums are great if you don't want to wait for the result on Sunday. But the rest of the forum often goes round in circles, there will be the contestant who is the 'ringer', the 'useless' one who is getting all the votes and should resign, that the judges mark dancers down to encourage the public vote, blah, blah - it all gets a bit samey so I skip it some years.

Place marking. For the first year my daughter is looking forward to SCD as much as me (not quite 5)

Perhaps we should have a guess-the-Olympian-they-are-chasing sweepstake - I'll go for Jess Ennis-Hill, Greg Rutherford, Helen Glover (who will have married former SCD contestant Steve by then), Katherine Grainger - and Becky Adlington.

Katherine Grainger would be fab but I doubt she'd do it. She doesn't seem the sequins type and has said she wants to get back to her medical law career. Yet another stealth boast - she went to my kids' Primary School and Secondary School and after 2012 came to school with her medal. Very happy to talk to all the kids, let them have a wee shot with her medal and gave them a great talk about how she was just like they were once, sitting in the same hall, and she ended up an Olympian with loads of medals. Inspirational woman.

Maybe one of the cycling women if anyone retiring? Tom Daley would be great!
