Katya danced with Gavin Hensen, Robbie Savage and Phil Tuffnel in her time on SCD. According to Wikipedia she toured in a dance show with Pasha in 2012.

Apparently she had a baby earlier this year.

There are a few training videos popping up on Twitter now. Only 2 weeks to wait! I do wish they'd do a special ITT on the Friday before the first show.

My fantasy Strictly would be one where all the celebs can dance but haven't danced ballroom/latin. One of the dance-y ones from Take That, Beyonce, a member of Diversity, I can't think of any actors at the moment who can also dance but I'm sure there are plenty. I would still get to see people learn and improve week by week but they would be starting from a higher level and already love dancing so there would be less of the initial awkwardness.

I was all set to watch Strictly tonight but it's not on, what is happening?!!! (panick attack coming on)

They've got 3 weeks of training before they have to dance so the first live show is on 24th September

Someone years ago mentioned Justin Fletcher which I quite like... any children's presenter from CBeebies would be good though as all the children watching would have someone to root for in those early weeks - my two although getting a bit older (7 & 4) always get a bit fidgety about an hour in!

Found the BBC Strictly Blogs and managed to see a few seconds of Anton and Lesley "First Steps" and Daisy Lowe's. The latter looked promising but didn't see her feet. Alijaz looked pleased with her while Anton had that resigned expression with Lesley who looked too short for him, spoiling her posture.

Good suggestion of Spandau Ballet only. I reckon Martin Kemp would do a mean and moody tango. Would love them to get a handsome older man on - the gym buffed Hollyoakers don't really do it for me.

I can't imagine he'd ever do it but I'd love someone naturally funny like Rob Brydon to do Strictly. Or Greg Davies - although no partner would ever be tall enough!

I love Monkseal. I discovered him very late though - what does he mean when he talks about the Year of the Man? I presume he means a male winner but - there have been loads, including, obviously, last year.

Year of the Man was the year when they had more potential male winners than women because they hadn't had a male winner for a while. Can't remember which year it was and if I start reading back old series reviews, I'll have to take a week off work

I used to refer to Series 11 (obviously stronger female line-up, four women in the final, any men clinging on ruthlessly dispatched by the judges towards the end) as the Year Of The Woman a lot, so the Year Of The Man is just the counterpoint. I'd say the closest we've had so far were Series 3 (first four boots all women, the other two women repeatedly in the bottom 2, male top 2) and Series 12 (Jake, Simon and Mark all in play at the end (but two of them so often in the bottom 2 as to be irrelevant)) but we've never had a series as...erm...manly as Series 11 was womanly. Until now, potentially.
