WTF
sorry - I know its celeb bb but what is the point

OP posts:
Blu · 29/01/2007 11:03

So the british celebs were rightly voted out earlier for being brutish, uncouth, rude, and talentless (except nice enthusiastic friendly intelligent Ian, who was, after all 4th), and then they all had to be subject to Brit celeb Russell Brand being even more obscene, rude, and toe-curlingly crude.

Actually, sometimes he makes me lol, epsecially with his one-off responses to people's comments, but all that ego and wank stuff....

Shilpa was needing to be a lot more 'diplomatic' about her comments once she had sen the extent of the bitching against her, wasn't she? She didn't repeat the 'not-racist' line after she had heard all the comments - fuckerwallah, f off back home, eating with hands stuff - but she did manage to say she would forgive, and she didn't retaliate or stir it up. Whatever her talent level, however far it is an act for BB, it's still a bloody good line tpo take as a model of how to behave under pressure, and one that those voted off could learn from in everyday life. IMO.

Well I like Russel Brand, He's an individual, he says what he likes, he does what he likes, he's a mad arse, so what he swears n jumps about - who cares he's not doing you any harm, if you listen to him he's highly educated he's just mad. It is possible to be mad and not on drugs, if he were on drugs he wouldn't be allowed to broadcast.

ruty · 29/01/2007 11:46

she did actually say she still thought Jade was not a racist, which i thought was too good a get out clause for Jade. Perhaps it hadn't all sunk in yet. She was very gracious though.

ruty · 29/01/2007 11:47

no he's not on drugs, i just don't think he is that clever. It's a one joke wonder.

Blu · 29/01/2007 11:48

But how is his constant diatribe about masturbating, his penis and his scrotum in any way relevant to commentating on the antics of BB? Apart from the whole big wank analogy, of course?

Blu · 29/01/2007 11:49

Ruty - she didn't say it on BBBM after she had seen the footage though. She looked v sober when she was looking at the fotage, and then on BBBM she said something like 'now i have seen the extent of it...' and after that she didn't actually use the 'not racist' line again.

southeastastra · 29/01/2007 11:51

blimey you either like him or not, comedy is subjective. i personally can't stand dawn french.

ProfYaffle · 29/01/2007 11:56

Has anyone seen Russell's dvd? Me and dh watched it the other night, it's really put me off him.

ruty · 29/01/2007 12:57

i'm glad Blu. I thought she was letting them all off very lightly in the davina interview.

TinyGang · 29/01/2007 13:13

I like Russell Brand - I can see why he offends some people - but I'm ok with it

Lol Southeastastra! The mental jump from Dawn (Vicar of Dibley) French to Russell Brand is too much for my little brain

Getting back to BB though - big absence of Jo Jade and Danielle last night. I wonder how Danielle coped with the fallout ie she's now Ted-less. Jo seems quite un-repentant from what I've seen.

ruty · 29/01/2007 13:24

he doesn't offend me at all - just doesn't make me laugh.
Is BBLB on at all today or is it all over?

Aloha · 29/01/2007 14:53

I think the truth is that all British celebs with even the vestige of a career don't need BB. There are plenty of much nicer 'reality' shows to go on, where they can twirl around in nice frocks or make dinner or ice-skate and go home and sleep in their own bed and see their own children. As Big Brother has got nastier and can no longer afford to throw really humungous fees at celebs, why are we suprised the producers now settle for moronic z-listers from this country. Their only to hope to attract even D listers to come into the house is to find micro-celebs from overseas who have a specific desire to target the UK market and are not familiar with the show. Hence Jermaine (trying to put on a Jackson 5 musical in London) Dirk (needs the money, likes England) and Shilpa (likes England, wants to be a star in the UK). There are zillions of lovely, decent, charming, sophisticated English celebrities from A - Z list - I swoon at the feet of Helen Mirren for example - but they are not daft enough or desperate enough to go on BB.

I am a bit tired of the idea that the British inhabitants of the BB house somehow stand for all British people. That is patent nonsense.

NotAnOtter · 29/01/2007 14:55

i agree Aloha but surely the average person on the streetsof Bombay will be jus=dging britain by what the have seen and heard frm within that house

Blu · 29/01/2007 14:58

I completely agree, Aloha!
I laughed at the way Jermaine managed to plug his musical in the interview!

Anyway...at least Dirk is still available for a nice woman!

Aloha · 29/01/2007 15:01

Poor Dirk. I did wince when Shilpa pulled that disgusted face when someone said that Dirk was in love with her. He was in love too. Youth can be so callous! (I dimly remember being like that myself )

ruty · 29/01/2007 15:04

i felt sorry for Dirk too Aloha. She could have been a bit more tactful. She's not that young. [ruty likes to think of herself as shilpa's age. Only a couple of years in it. OK, 3.]

expatinscotland · 29/01/2007 15:05

Have you people all taken leave of your senses?

Dirk 'The Face' is sexy and attractive?!

No.

No.

That's just wrong.

Aloha · 29/01/2007 15:07

Yes, she's over thirty now, isn't she? He's 62 - so I'm much nearer Shilpa's age than his, but identified much more with him. How odd.

NotAnOtter · 29/01/2007 15:10

I think she is quite young for 31

expatinscotland · 29/01/2007 15:11

She's made over 50 films.

Not so young at all.

I just picture Dirk w/that fuggy cigar.

Eeewwwwww.

He's gross.

ruty · 29/01/2007 15:11

no i don't think he is sexy, i just thought she could have flattered him a little more. I mean she did tell them all that he couldn't get it up for a decade or something. that was a little tactless. Poor Dirk.

NotAnOtter · 29/01/2007 15:12

no wonder he cant get it up with all that smoking!

ruty · 29/01/2007 15:13

[he had prostate cancer. ] You would think that would put him off cigars.

Aloha · 29/01/2007 15:14

aw, don't be so ageist!

expatinscotland · 29/01/2007 15:15

He's an old perv putting the mack on!

I'd have told him to get lost.

Boak.
