I can't link , as I'm on my phone. And I now have to do BBQ things because dh has remembered he has a broken thumb

Aller! Richard!

Richard will NOT beat Andy.

Fact.

MrsV - can I give you a big snog for also being a Rosberg hater? He is a wank badger (& cheat) of the first order.

Back to Tennis.

Am really looking forward to the Murray/Gasquet match.

Raahh · 29/05/2016 22:36

magi- you can't really say anything is a fact. Unless your are a time travelerGrin.

Who ever thought Cilic would win the US Open, for example ? (definitely not CilicGrin).

I am looking forward to seeing a lot more of Sergi Bruguera, and his puppy eating grimaces. He was brilliant. As, it really has to be said, was Gasquet.

And had Isner won the first set against Murray(and he really should have)I think the match would have been very different. Not saying Murray wouldn't still have won (he beats tall players, you know), but I think it would have been a different, closer match.

Must. Get. Up.

Need to get out and do the garden today - it is Bank Holiday, after all - but no exciting tennis to encourage me to get everything done promptly!

DramaAlpaca · 30/05/2016 10:00

Not a bank holiday here Sad so I have to slave away at work while you lot are enjoying the sunshine.

Have a good day ladies!

Raahh · 30/05/2016 10:10

Tardis, I forgot about that!

Looks like rain all day . Suppose I'd better do some jobs...........

Raahh · 30/05/2016 10:45

I've just seen the forecast. Doesn't look good, does it?

'Quo Vardis' is on. I love the big epic films - Ben Hur, Ten Commandments. Anything with bad special effects ( tortoises dressed up to look like dinosaurs, that kind of thing).

But I'd rather be watching tennis Sad

OP posts:
magimedi · 30/05/2016 10:57

Can't watch it. When we retired we made a vow not to watch daytime TV - apart from tennis & F1. Have seen far too many of our retired chums who just veg in front of TV all day & talk about it!!! We've been very good so far - exceptions made over Xmas.

Am going to tidy some cupboards & DH is painting.

Does annoy me that they are re showing the Murray/Isner match. Why can't they show something they haven't showed over the last few days?

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 30/05/2016 11:30

Yes, I thought that. Just came in for coffee - garden looking slightly tidier, if not prettier (rabbit-friendly garden so full of bits of hay and no plants because they're just rabbit salad in his eyes) - and they're replaying Murray! How about showing the end of the Wawrinka match, or the start of the Gasquet match?!

magimedi · 30/05/2016 11:55

Have just looked at the RG website & they say play is starting at 1.00 - so a few moments to go...........

BagelGoesWalking · 30/05/2016 12:55

Play abandoned for the WHOLE DAY! John I just reported. Blimey Sad

CremeEggThief · 30/05/2016 13:33

Aw no way! I was going to be dutiful and take DS out, but he wanted a lazy day at home after all, and now there's no tennis?Sad

Raahh · 30/05/2016 14:55

No play at all?!

We went out to buy dog food. Then took ike exploring round the water park. I was sure tennis would be on then.

Now I have no excuse but to do stuff. I don't want to do stuff. Sad

I'm painting a door today, and I was kind of pleased by the rain delay. It meant I could go out and buy the paint.

Less wild about the cancellation, though. Tennis Channel is showing (who else?) billions of Williams. On the plus side, it's Venus vs. the French Academy Award Nominee, Alize Cornet, which I certainly did't get to see live.

I think I will support anyone over Cornet.

Raah's note on the special effects of the 60s blockbusters has me itching to see tortoises dressed up as dinosaurs.

Raahh · 31/05/2016 10:04

Oh my goodness. Look at the rain.

The weather here is absolutely beautiful. Very nice for the tournament in Manchester , anyway. 😁

OP posts:
DramaAlpaca · 31/05/2016 10:15

Not again Sad

It's glorious here too.

magimedi · 31/05/2016 10:31

Not so nice here - Sussex coast. Got soaked doing the shopping but it is clearing now.

The organisers must be crapping themselves - will it have to run for an extra day??

BagelGoesWalking · 31/05/2016 10:43

It's pouring down here (Surrey) since the morning, same as Paris.

Our forecast is rubbish all week, then lovely, of course, the minute they're back at school. DD is revising for GCSEs but we'd planned to go into London for shopping on her only "free" day. Not going now!

What will they do with all the matches?

Raahh · 31/05/2016 11:42

Well, well, well-Bustagut serving for the set.

OP posts:
DramaAlpaca · 31/05/2016 11:56

First set Bustagut. And they are off court again.

magimedi · 31/05/2016 12:06

What a farce!! Did you see poor Thiem? Water was running down his face.

I hope they can catch up - if it's a Monday final I'll miss it as am off on hols on Monday .

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 31/05/2016 12:10

Still tipping it down here in NW London.

Raahh · 31/05/2016 12:34

it's all about making sure today isn't a complete washout, isn't it? If they don't play for a certain length of time, they will have to refund all the spectators.
