OP posts:
expatinscotland · 17/01/2007 15:38

I cannot believe Channel 4 are allowing Jade et al to remain in there.

bakedbeans · 17/01/2007 15:39

It is a culture clash really because everyone was talking about Little Britain and Catherine Tate - am I bovvered and laughing and all the foreigners didn't understand it at all.

bakedbeans · 17/01/2007 15:41

shilpa needs to come out to get her roots done, why do all the people who say they like her want her to "suffer" for longer.

mummylin2495 · 17/01/2007 15:42

i dont want shilpa to be out ,she has conducted herself so well ,personally i think the bitches of eastwick should all be thrown out and take the dopey boyfriend with them.

expatinscotland · 17/01/2007 15:42

Jade needs more plastic surgery.

bakedbeans · 17/01/2007 15:46

But come off it if you get a bunch of women or girls together what happens? They bitch about others, school gate syndrome anybody? Who is driving a new car, Look what she is wearing!!! Did you see what she just did? I am sure that there is no one here on this thread that hasn't bitched together with their friends about another woman and what she is wearing or her hair or her children's behaviour. I have for sure. I bet none of you can honestly say you are innocent. Their whole world is in that tiny house and everything that goes on and what others do is all they have to talk about

mummylin2495 · 17/01/2007 15:50

yes im sure you are right but we are all meant to be adult now ,not still acting like teenage thugs ,and i was also brought up to not deliberatly hurt other peoples feelings.jade is the leader of a small pack of baying wolves and they should all be disgusted with themselves,
.

flutterbee · 17/01/2007 15:50

DIRK TO WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

bakedbeans · 17/01/2007 15:52

Oh I meant as adults, have you not been to a school gates lately? I am sure it happens in offices as well doesn't it? Put a load of women in an office and what happens?

AitchTwoOh · 17/01/2007 15:54

wow, feminism really never took off round your way, did it bakedbeans?

so, why don't you like shilpa, then? what's wrong with her?

hippmummy · 17/01/2007 15:55

I cannot bear the 'all women bitch' and 'it's just what girls do' arguement.

It's crap. A sweeping generalisation used to excuse unnacceptable bullying behaviour.

Not too long ago bullying in schools was just dismissed as 'just something kids do', and we all know how damaging that can be.

StrawberrySnowflakes · 17/01/2007 15:55

i dont agree with the three girls behaviour esp Damielle as she is the worst, but i aslo strongly believe that Shilpa is 'working it', she is so manipluaitve and sneaky, she puts on a little girl voice when she wants something or someone is confronting her and she never lets ANYONE finish their conversation, shes worse than Leo(aaaaaaaaargh..hate him!)...and they showed the clip re Jemaine saying jade was white trash again last night, but still not heard ANYTHING about Danielles v.bad comment??

expatinscotland · 17/01/2007 15:55

'Put a load of women in an office and what happens? '

Certainly not a bunch of racist abuse, most of the time.

Definitely not in the places I've worked.

expatinscotland · 17/01/2007 15:56

K, people, here we go again! 'White trash' in the American context, which is the way in which Jermaine would use it, is NOT a racist insult.

StrawberrySnowflakes · 17/01/2007 15:58

the people he was refering to, where not american, so would have taken it in an entirley diff way, same as other things have been interpreted by others

expatinscotland · 17/01/2007 15:59

Yes, Sally, but he is, and he does not live here, so he has NO IDEA how it'll be taken other htan the way in which he's used to.

bakedbeans · 17/01/2007 16:00

She is so milking it, the way she wiggles her finger when she wants to make a point, she makes her eyes fill with tears like an actress that she is, putting chicken stock in the toilet, she lies and then looks innocent, she is patronising.

doormat · 17/01/2007 16:00

I thought they were stamping out bullying in the workplace

expatinscotland · 17/01/2007 16:01

He called HER white trash, not an entire country, or refused to use her name so he could call her 'The White Trash', or infer that everything she cooks is unclean and going to give him the runs b/c she is British, or that her hands are unclean b/c she is British, etc. etc.

bakedbeans · 17/01/2007 16:01

expat well why should the english understand how they talk is different then?

fuzzywuzzy · 17/01/2007 16:02

I work in an all woman environment, we get on really well, no bitching here. And I'd say that was the norm really.

Also actually Jermaine Jackson was repeating what Leo had called Jade and her family....

StrawberrySnowflakes · 17/01/2007 16:02

like i said before, i do like Jermaine, but i do see him being more single minded like when he said jo was uncomfortable with Shilpa cos she was not "her colour", that was him making a racist assumtion , second guessing what Jo thought.
In a house like that stuck with people you dont know/like, there is bound to be conflict, but i dont agree Shipa is being singled out as there have been lots of comments from her and the 'higher class' ones made toward the others which although not always racist are out of order

expatinscotland · 17/01/2007 16:03

I don't know, bakebeans, maybe b/c he's foreign coming on an English show.

Maybe b/c it's sometimes thought a good thing to learn things about cultures other than your own.

You know, education and all.

expatinscotland · 17/01/2007 16:03

Leo called Jade and her family 'guttersnipes'.

Her specifically. Not everybody in the entire country.

That's the difference.

bakedbeans · 17/01/2007 16:04

so why is it wrong for them to call her indian because she calls herself an indian actress because that is what she is. She is from India and she is an actress.
