QUITE, QUITE SURE? YOU REALLY WANT TO DISCUSS SERIES 6, EPISODE 2?

OK. I think that should be enough.

Right. R B - greatest TV villain of all time? I didn't see that coming!

OP posts:
JonSnowsBeardClippings · 02/05/2016 21:50

Ramsay did know that stannis was dead didn't he? He knew that the army was defeated anyway.

YorkshireTeaGold · 02/05/2016 21:54

That's what i thought beardclippings i just don't want him to be dead!

EverySongbirdSays · 02/05/2016 21:57

I think it's believed or at least unknown whether Stannis got away and is thus absolutely defeated.

WeDoNotSow · 02/05/2016 22:02

I like the way it's realistic in terms of, in RL,sometimes shit just happens.
Not to advance a plot, or to further a character, just for no apparent reason shit happens.

I don't really care how show-Stannis dies tbh, after that shit with Shireen.

NeedACleverNN · 02/05/2016 22:04

I hope Ramsey dies a slow and painful death

He is a real sadist!

I loved that giant wun wun when he smashed that man and everyone just dropped arms Grin

YorkshireTeaGold · 02/05/2016 22:08

Yes, the Shireen thing wasn't ideal but i thought he was of the more sympathetic characters. I also like how somethings things just happen to not further plots... And somethings are set up to further plots but don't happen.

WeDoNotSow · 02/05/2016 22:12

the Shireen thing wasn't ideal
That's one way of putting it! Grin

YorkshireTeaGold · 02/05/2016 22:17

I was going for understatement! It wss shocking and that's why I think he must be dead as his army were defeated too so he had no place to go

Alisvolatpropiis · 02/05/2016 22:20

I want to know why Hodor is Hodor.

SuffolkNWhat · 02/05/2016 22:26

My theory about Hodor is that Ned, Brandon etc taught him how to fight and he got jumped by others who thought it wasn't right for a stable boy to be training with the Starks, he suffered an injury to his head and thus the Hodoring started

ILikeToClean · 02/05/2016 22:41

Great episode!

Loved the giant turning on the man and bashing him and the Mountain (?) knocking the peeing guy's head against the wall for dissing Cersei. Love a bit of violence in the first few minutes Grin

Didn't love Ramsay - as he said to his father "thank you for saying that" I said to myself he's going to kill him but didn't think it would be at that precise moment!! I knew when he summoned Wanda and baby they were a goner, it was a terrible way to go but totally befitting Ramsay's character. He will definitely die in the next couple of episodes I reckon.

What else (apart from the obvious!)

Arya - ooh brutal hitting of her but hopefully she'll be ok now that a man has taken her back.

Bran - wow he's all grown up, liking his visions of the past, interesting to see the young Starks and the young Hodor, hopefully all will be revealed about him.

The dragons - are they free now then? What, will they just walk up the stairs and fly off?

Iron islands - do we know anything about the brother? First when I saw him on the bridge I thought it was Theon! I hope Theon makes it back, Sansa has forgiven him so I think we should too!

Ok - Jon!! I really thought when they said collect firewood and we'll burn him it was leading up to something so was a bit of a letdown that she rubbed him down etc nice job though! I really thought it was going to be something to do with Ghost too as the camera lingered on him beforehand.

I too missed the bit about the gift for Ramsay and I saw the trailer on Thronecast so might have to watch again!

Phew - going to be a long week!

SansaClegane · 02/05/2016 22:42

Agree with Weston about the scene with Fat Walda and the baby. It was utterly unnecessary. Tbh the fact he sent the maester to fetch Walda and the baby, and the maester's anguished look in return, would have been enough to imply what was about to happen. They could have confirmed it through dialogue afterwards for the thickos.
There's a difference between what might/must happen in the story (yes Ramsay is a psychopath and will want to rid himself of any competition) and what the writers need to actually show us. As such, they didn't have to put the scene in.
I liked the Bran part in this episode (more specifically, the flashback) and it was nice to see the Iron Islands again, though Balon's assassination was, well, rather less subtle than in the books! Also not sure about show-Euron so far, he seemed a bit of a drip?!
Starting to hate show-Tyrion a bit as the writers whitewashed him beyond comprehension and he is such a stereotypical Good Guy now.

WestleyAndButtockUp · 02/05/2016 22:47

"Hodor! Hodor!"

"What you talkin' about, Willis?"

EverySongbirdSays · 02/05/2016 22:57

Tyrion's hardly a stereotypical Good Guy in so many ways. There's not a lot to do for him at the moment, but he still murdered his Dad and his lover not long ago. And has cheated death about 4 times. He was always a good guy though I mean he's pretty much the exception to the rule when it comes to how he treated Sansa and he's the only decent member of his family

SansaClegane · 02/05/2016 23:12

Idk I feel like they leave out all the unsavoury parts of his character; he even killed his father for all the wrong reasons Wink But there was never a hint of any 'greyness' of his character in the show. Don't get me wrong, I find him one of the most interesting characters and storylines; but IMO he'd be more interesting in the show if he was an arse/spiteful/ cold-blooded/ lecherous over teenage girls sometimes.

SansaClegane · 02/05/2016 23:14

P.S. Jaime post hand-chop is also turning into a very decent character granted they rob him off this arc in the show so Tyrion's not the only decent Lannister. And Kevan is very reasonable too.

Highsteaks · 02/05/2016 23:23

I couldn't watch the scene with Ramsay and Walda and was covering my ears from the crying baby Sad

I feel like Ramsay's death will have to be super gruesome and involve some sort of hound (either his own ora wolf?) I'm thinking of that scene in Sin City with Elijah Wood, and also that flaying people is a Bolton thing......Jesus, maybe I'm a bit of a psycho! Imagine if he just gets stabbed or crossbowed, I will feel very cheated!

The Jesus Jon resurrection wasnt quite what I thought. I thought it would fail Mel would throw herself from the wall because she has lost her mojo (this could still happen I guess if she doesn't realise what has happened), they would burn Jon and then he would resurrect, revealing some sort of Targareyn thing.

SerJorahsSecondChoice · 03/05/2016 00:33

All I could think when Jon gasped was how much he sounded like the Little Brown Mouse in The Gruffalo when the snake releases him.

EverySongbirdSays · 03/05/2016 01:09

I need the next episode more than I need sleep though. NEEEEDD

wickedlazy · 03/05/2016 02:08

"Why didn't Littlefinger marry Sansa? I would have thought that would have given him a lot of power."
He's playing the long game. He had to wed and kill Lysa first, to secure The Vale and become Robyn Arryn's guardian. I think he planned to "rescue" Sansa at some point, she would have fallen lovingly into his arms, he would bring her to Cersei as a gift, tell her that the Boltons had her hidden all along, persuade her she had not part in Joffreys death, he marries the newly widowed last Stark and becomes warden of the North. But Brienne put a stop to all that Smile in the show at least.

"The dragons - are they free now then? What, will they just walk up the stairs and fly off?"
I think Tyrion will try to fully gain their trust first. If dragons can sense intentions, they won't harm Tyrion. His life depends on Dany and the dragons, he is no ill intent towards them, and I think he knows they can sense this. As he said they're very intelligent. They aren't eating, and nobody but Tyrion knows how to get them to. They won't bite the hand that feeds them (this is how Dany got them back on side, she fed them some nice fresh live masters).

bigbuttons · 03/05/2016 06:39

I'm confused about Balon. I'm currently reading feast for cross and he is dead in that.

Cerseirys · 03/05/2016 06:49

It would be poetic justice if Theon is the one who ends Ramsay but as we all know, GRRM doesn't go for poetic justice.

scandichick · 03/05/2016 07:19

The dragons can't get out though, can they? The exit looked very small - they must have grown a bit at least since they were brought down there.

BonerSibary · 03/05/2016 07:19

Maybe Ramsay having Myranda's corpse fed to the dogs is him being romantic, in his way. After all it's probably what she would have wanted.

Highsteaks Iwan Rheon actually said in an interview a while ago that it'd be a shame if Ramsay just died quietly in his sleep or something! If you think how they disposed of Joffrey, very camp almost, I think they'll want the opportunity to do the same.

QueenOfThorns · 03/05/2016 07:26

I agree completely with SansaClegane, they didn't need to show Fat Walda's death Sad
I have two thoughts after yesterday's episode:
Mel has done her thing now Stannis is gone and Jon is back. If she doesn't jump off a tower, Davos will kill her when he finds out about Shireen.
Cersei is going to go batshit crazy (she doesn't seem as nuts yet on the tv as in the books) and kill Tommen herself.
