(After our antenatal thread became somewhat hijacked with talk of Doctor Who)

Hello,

My name's (usually) MsMoss and I've been a Doctor Who Geek for over twenty years now. I grew up with McCoy, stood by it through its years in the wilderness and now watch, proud but slightly bemused, as it is no longer shameful to admit you're a fan.

Anyone else with me? You love the new series but don't want the old to be forgotten?

Join me, stand up and be counted!

Try Amazon, I got the most recent one for £6 brand new and still wrapped off there

SueBaroo · 02/05/2007 20:33

This is very rude indeed. Adults only, if you know what I mean. Bloody annoying song, though...

MrsWho · 02/05/2007 20:39

Is there much in the way of extras on the box set?

I got the life on Mars box set for £10 ish on a special w/e on Play.com

Suebaroo -it better be good I needed to join!

SueBaroo · 02/05/2007 22:53

lol, well I did say...

MrsWho · 02/05/2007 22:58

BUt the Dr is so pure

pinkandsparkly · 02/05/2007 23:12

The hottest sex scene that DT has ever done is the one in secret smile which was soooo realistic I actually felt a bit umcomfortable watching it, like I was intruding on two people really shagging! That man can ACT.

munz · 03/05/2007 07:45

slal - was it on offer? iv'e only seen tehm for £30 +

SueBaroo · 03/05/2007 09:39

aye, MrsWho, the Doctor is. Don't think we'll be seeing any up-against-the-TARDIS shenanigans any time soon, rest easy.

pinkandsparkly, secret smile is very intense, and the rude bit is only about 4 minutes in, if I remember right.

We got our boxset from amazon. Spent £44 but I don't give a monkeys, dh has been trying to faff about getting it cheap in discount stores or on ebay and it's not happened yet, and I want to hear the commentaries sometime before I die...

We did get given the LOM2 boxset, so I reckon it all balances out.

UnquietDad · 03/05/2007 11:10

I think Slalom must mean one of the "vanilla" 3-episode DVDs. No way would you find the box-set for under £30.

SueBaroo - they used to say "no hanky-panky in the TARDIS" in the 80s! Mind you, that was when the assistant was Bonnie Langford.

having said that... hmm, she's worn well! I almost would!

foxinsocks · 03/05/2007 11:13

that dalek sec was creepy - dd thought the tentacles looked like penises and after she said that, I could hardly watch without feeling all queer . I didn't enjoy this last episode as much (though it was fascinating) - you kinda knew the daleks would carry on and it didn't seem to follow on seamlessly from the week before.

SueBaroo · 03/05/2007 15:09

Flippin 'eck, unquietdad, I think I almost would too, lol. Well, that's if she didn't start screeching uncontrollably at me. On second thoughts, never mind. Menage a trois with ten and Martha for me

Sorry, did I say that out loud?

UnquietDad · 03/05/2007 15:35

But she's not worn quite as well as Nicola Bryant . Now there I definitely still would!

slalomsuki · 03/05/2007 15:41

Unquiet

It was the box set I got as a present for ds just last week. Also picked up a cheap box set of life on Mars at the same time and total was £27 for both

UnquietDad · 03/05/2007 16:26

I stand corrected slalom! I will look out for such a bargain!

munz · 03/05/2007 17:12

oh no I wish i'd looked! lol. looked today and they were full price - off to kelkoo I think

Fubsy · 03/05/2007 18:33

Bugger - I keep missing the bargains!

MrsWho · 03/05/2007 21:57

"aye, MrsWho, the Doctor is. Don't think we'll be seeing any up-against-the-TARDIS shenanigans any time soon, rest easy. "

actually that could appeal

SueBaroo · 03/05/2007 22:07

munz · 04/05/2007 10:35

Hi. Despite my lusting over DT in everything else he's done, I haven't watched Dr Who since I was a wee girl - mainly due to its time slot. However, now DS1 is beginning to enjoy a Saturday night "stay up and watch with Mum and Dad" treat, what I would like to know is, is it suitable for a (just) 6 year-old? I don't want to give him nightmares, but he has seen trailers and is fancying watching it.

Smutti · 05/05/2007 16:22

Is Dr Who appropriate for a 6 year old?

Smutti · 05/05/2007 17:24

bump
