Firstly Jill has really not dealt with the whole Josh situation and I don't blame her given the 'counselling' she received

Joy has always been a bit "bigger" than her sisters; they've all been stick thin except her. And I totally wouldn't be surprised if she was standing in such a way as to really emphasise the bump. Some people can be fairly big-ish that far along. OR it could be twins. Both Joy's and Austin's parents are very very strict, there is no way they had premarital sex.

Also: I'm part of another forum which discusses the Duggars. It's been speculated that weddings are deliberately scheduled to coincide with ovulation. Joy married about 14 weeks ago, so if she did conceive on her wedding night she'd be 16 weeks not 12.

That's quite sick of the parents to time weddings with your child's ovulation. But Jill did conceive in her wedding night.

I really wanted Joy to have a few years being her, no sibling kids and being her own person.

Imagine going from your first kiss to full sex within the day and no workinf up to it. Why would parents encourage that for their children?? But I am absolutely addicted to the show!

Interesting that Jill or Derick doesn't follow Jinger on twitter.

One of the going girls is going to have a major birth complication, it's just statistically likely the amount of births between them. Poor Joy is going to end up with more than 20mids starting younger than her Mum.

I wonder what their take on IVF and infertility is.

All the no hand holding and chaperoning is weird, teaching kids that people will jump you in public if you hold their hand or dance because men can't control themselves 😒

I wonder if Jill did have a birth complication? A long home labour followed by emergency c section and they have been very quiet by Duggar standards since? I think that Jill is one who would have happily copied Michelle and had a huge family given the choice but it doesn't seem that easy for her. In a family where fertility is everything that must be so hard

IMO I think most of the girls are quite happy and accepting of the idea of having a big family. I think it's the rest of us that feels outraged on their behalf.

Wouldn't be my idea of fun but they are all financially well off thanks to the tv programs they won't ever have to work outside the home and have masses of family support. I think they are probably very happy with their lot.

In the ATI movement (which the Duggars are part of) women are encouraged to track their cycles on a calendar. Apparently in one of the early shows the older girls admitted that they knew Michelle's cycle.
And they're probably only happy with their lot because of some Stockholm syndrome. They literally have no idea what life is like outside their movement. They're raised to believe that the world is a terrible heathen place.

It's called Free Jinger. It's mainly populated by Americans but there are some people from other countries too. Of course Jinger is married now, but she does seem to be having a bit more "freedom" than her sisters, in that it's 9 months after her wedding and she's not pregnant, she gets to wear trousers/pants occasionally, and has moved away from Arkansas.

Also statistically some are going to have fertility problems. Like if Jinger and Jeremy have decided that hey they would like a few years getting to know each other and working before having kids and use birth control great, but they'll have to put up with years of people speculating that they are infertile. I'm sure that Joy is happy and that's great for her, I feel sorry for Jana as finding a husband the same age who is also never kissed anyone will likely mean she will become someone's second wife. I think she is likely gay and I hope gets support from her aunt, as I can't imagine anything worse than being told it's because you have not prayed hard enough. oo off to seek out free Jinger. It is strangely addictive isn't it, and I find myself being judgemental but then don't like doing that!

I'm pretty sure Jeremy did some stuff pre-marriage. To have been accepted as a suitor for a Duggar girl he probably repented/was 'born again' or something.

Ooh yay. I was looking for this thread the other day and couldn't find It!

What was with Derricks gagging...made me want to puke! Jill seems quite sad these days, wonder if it was to do with central America...see they've decided to stay in the US for now since Samuel was born. Jess is probably my favourite out of the sister's.

I'm not sure about Jeremy. I was saying to dh that he must have done stuff before though his parents are quite godly too so maybe not.

Saw the news the other day about Joy. Anna must be about ready to have baby #5 too.

They don't just ask Jim Bob,. Th y have to share financial information and have a home made background check.

All of the other girls so far seem so excited and happy,
Joy seemed to be blindsided and shocked.

I think the boys do have to ask permission too.

Jedidiah was courting before but that stopped. He also was apparently (according to unreliable gossip mag) courting Kendra before Joseph. I wonder if it's the boys who aren't successful or if there are loads of courtships that fizzle out?

Was Joy really surprised or did she act coy and surprised for the camera. He (forgot his name)had been coming over every week to the duggars for quite a while and Joy was included in all the 'projects ' that he did with her family. I think the duggars have got very 'camera aware' and the show is heavily edited. JB and M would hate to have a divorce on their hands so I don't think they would force one of the girls to marry someone they didn't want to. What happens in a few years after the marriage is a different story.
