That's for drywhite

pixieg1rl · 21/04/2016 18:19

SH was having a lot of fun there

Drywhitethanks · 21/04/2016 19:41

Love that Hudyer SH is lovely but I really love the uncles....brilliant . And, yes, that's what he says although I can't watch it again or I'll cry Sad....... I need happiness and love restored to C and J not hopeful right now

Red I'm holding out with the books, don't want to spoil the show although have had a peek and pretty much know what's going to happen Incase they change it a bit. Will save for after season 2 is over and have a fest of all 7/8 in a row Smile

Signing in ahead of tomorrow's ep.

Am I the only one who doesn't want to see SH out of character? His huge irl forehead ruins the fantasy for me, I don't fancy him at all (weird, innit).

Drywhitethanks · 23/04/2016 19:20

Having studied SH at length I agree Hiphop, SH in a kilt as Jamie is the best. Sh as SH seems nice enough too though.

Feeling giddy about tomorrow. Have to watch first two again so I get full impact.

Hello ladies (or should that be lassies?!), can I join you? I've been able to think of little else since binge-watching Season one last weekend while sick in bed. I'm not in the UK so have had to resort to, ahem, creative, ways of catching up with season two, but I'm caught up for now.

Am totally, utterly, compulsively obsessed with Jamie and Claire. Beautiful, beautiful story and so well recreated on the screens. Haven't read the books and didn't think I would enjoy the series that much, as time travel usually puts me right off - but it's brilliant!

snozzlemaid · 23/04/2016 20:45

It really gets under your skin doesn't it? I became obsessed very quickly. I watched season one in a week and I'm now reading book 1. I bought books 2 and 3 today as I'm enjoying it so much.
Can't wait for tomorrow's episode.

Drywhitethanks · 23/04/2016 22:55

Have had to watch another series this week just to take my mind off it.

I think the thing is you just get so wrapped up in the story, with the characters and sharing their most intimate times makes you feel that much closer to them, it's so intense ...........all exacerbated if you binge watch it as a lot of us have.

Sam needs to realize he looks best rough and ready Wink

NOT as if he's fresh from brow bar!

TheHiphopopotamus · 24/04/2016 11:03

NOT as if he's fresh from the brow bar!

Lol, exactly!

Ah well, at least in this week's ep, there was a bit of kilt. And the wonderful Frances de la Tour.

Sunnymeg · 24/04/2016 11:32

Very good episode really enjoyed it. Frances de La Tour was fantastic. Loved Bouton too

snozzlemaid · 24/04/2016 12:42

I love Murtagh and was glad he got some action. Loved the way she grabbed hold of his magnificent beard.
I don't like it when Jamie isn't so nice to Claire though.
Frances de la tour was wonderful as others have said. They're all cast brilliantly.

Drywhitethanks · 24/04/2016 20:16

Yup, it was a goodie.
Good Lord the Count is rather gorgeous/sinister.
Still loving Murtagh.
Bouton is cute.
Wish J and C would get on with it, don't like the coldness, nice hug from smiley J at the end though.

just watched episode 3. Things I liked: Claire's dresses, and especially the yellow cloak; Murtagh and Suzette (I wouldn't mind a ride in the barn with Murtagh, all things considered); Jamie brooding in the brothel; Claire lancing the boil (yuck).

Things I didn't like: how distant they are; how bored and stiff Claire looks; ALL THOSE CLOTHES, ALL THE TIME! Surely it's time for Jamie to show his scars to someone?!?!

Did anyone else get shivers thinking of that poor sheltered Mary Hawkins having to have sex with Black Jack just so they get eventually beget 1943 Jack?

AKAmyself · 24/04/2016 20:48

Also, I strongly suspect Jamie needs a bath. God he must reek under all that finery after nights in the brothel and days in the wine shop!

AKAmyself · 24/04/2016 20:49

Oh and one more thing (sorry, disjointed thinker here): I thought Caitriona Balfe really did look stunning in this episode, god she's a good-looking woman, like a prettier, more regal Minnie Driver

Drywhitethanks · 24/04/2016 22:44

AK agree about the clothes, stunning. Adore CB anyway. Think Loiuse wears lovely dresses too.
At times Jamies hair looked like a wig.
Wish he'd taken off the waistcoat and just strutted around in his shirt like in the old days season 1
Just want them to love each other again Sad

OP posts:
TheHiphopopotamus · 24/04/2016 22:50

Yeah, Jamies hair is bloody awful. I think we need to start a petition up to get him to have a fringe cut in.

I love Louise, she's ace. I also like Claire a lot more this season now she's not agonising over Frank. And yes, Jamie needs to get out of those clothes pronto.

hudyerwheesht · 25/04/2016 08:40

Agreeing with everyone thus far re Claire's dresses, Murtagh's glorious beard and the way his lover used it to grab him and kiss him, the horrible atmosphere between J and C (I don't like it when they're not getting on) and most of all: Jamie's bloody lack of fringe and stubble. Even kilted he just didn't look the same. Sad

Oh, and the fab Frances de la Tour.

AKAmyself · 25/04/2016 10:21

Jamie's hair is truly atrocious. And those fine clothes don't suit him at all. And why on earth are they sleeping in separate rooms? That's just wrong. I half expected Murtagh to have a word with him about the importance of sex afte suzette tipped him off on the lack of it... But nothing.

In a way it was good to see him cold and scolding with Claire - good because it's a credible character development, after all he's been through, Jamie is no longer the exuberant boy who would resort to a good old spanking, but is showing his anger and hurt in more manipulative, suble ways. But what's missing i think is the fact that he misses Claire and their intimacy, it's just not there. He's sulking, he's punish in her perhaps - all good and credible. But I'm sure he's hurting and we've not seen much of that.

They need to get back to Scotland and to each other ASAP. This whole french thing is not working, for their relationship, for the rebellion, and for the show.

Fiderer · 25/04/2016 12:15

I want them to go back to Scotland with Frances dlT. Though she could come & live with me. Reckon she's enliven my pedestrian existence.

I don't like the dresses, spend more time thinking "Wtf is she wearing?" than paying attention to the plot. That and that their life is v opulent. Paris seems v clean.

Where's the cousin wine merchant again? See, so distracted by stupid arch-wide dresses that I've forgotten

I'm really pleased social media seems to be full of people complaining that they don't like where J and C are at the moment. It's great to see that relationships can be strained by circumstances and that both partners can lose their way and struggle to get it back.

Just think how happy we're all going to be when he gets that kilt and some scottish grime back.

However, like Murtagh, I do miss Rupert and Angus
