Just sayin'

OP posts:
Owllady · 20/04/2016 20:40

Well yes, I'd be quite happy if I looked like Anna friel:o

diddl · 21/04/2016 09:33

Does much happen in this episode?

I don't want to watch it because of the dog!

Owllady · 21/04/2016 09:50

In the third episode? It's still grim but not as grim
The dog wasn't nice but it's a blink and you'll miss it scene

SuckingEggs · 21/04/2016 09:53

I keep wanting to zip her coat up. They are trying to make Marcella's coat into Luther's trademark. It ain't gonna work.

SuckingEggs · 21/04/2016 09:54

diddl, the dog scene is fairly subtle compared to much of the other stuff.

diddl · 21/04/2016 09:55

Ah, OK.

Can you tell me when to blink to miss it??Grin

Owllady · 21/04/2016 10:06

There are two new characters, a bald bloke and a roadworks guy. Bald bloke pays creepy roadworks guy too little money. Creepy roadworks guy goes back to where he lodges and creeps out broccoli chopping lady. It cut to bald bloke back at flat calling his dog. Close your eyes then

HalleLouja · 21/04/2016 10:22

I am quite enjoying it. The men have started looking the same but the one who used to be in The Bill / Corrie is a right dodgy one. The one who was Owen in Corrie is also dodgy. Am sensing a theme.

Poor Cara it was predictable that would happen after she shared that nice moment with her mate.

Inkanta · 21/04/2016 19:04

There are some grim disturbing scenes. The car reversing over the body was a bit much! Confused

RaeSkywalker · 21/04/2016 19:08

I hit fast forward for that bit Inkanta!

Fannycraddock79 · 21/04/2016 19:11

I don't think it's her lip that's the problem, I think it's the whacking great veneers pushing it out.

LovePGtipsMonkey · 22/04/2016 01:38

I'm sure that the big business/bitchy mother pissing off partners/Grace standing up to mother etc have something to do with Grace's murder, just don't know who or how. They wouldn't have spent that much time on that theme otherwise - plus in the good old tradition of detective fiction, it's usually the big money/big losses that turns out to be the (boring ) motive.
But other murders are done by the obsessive serial killer who is probably copy-catting the old unsolved murders. The Rome guy so far definitely seems involved, but to what extent?
I'm now off the idea that it's M's husband. Too much genuine emotion, not enough motive after seeing the last ep. Step-brother also unlikely even though he MAY have an inferiority complex etc - but strong enough to kill Grace? Surely if he targeted anyone, it's be the step mum!
I do think he lied about Grace telling him re the affair!
Could at a push be her mum's H/P - he did warn Grace off from upsetting the woman, plus he is v.keen on the profits - and Grace's interference would have affected both.
But yes, a crazy number of red herrings!
I'm sure Cullen's innocent (though might be more violence to come from him, but don't believe he'll murder anyone) - but who knows re the baker!
the Dark-haired gay guy is think cheating - since sleeping in a car ANd is interested in Henry, so basically is treating his BF like shit but not obviously, and he might blow up in some way .
Five more eps - give me strength! it's the waiting in between that's a bother.

LovePGtipsMonkey · 22/04/2016 01:40

hence sleeping in a car, not 'since' (he was having a hook up with someone).

LovePGtipsMonkey · 22/04/2016 01:47

oh and M finding the exact spot where Grace was killed in the big forest, when she was having a blackout at that time is just ridiculous!! She could have remembered a forest in flashbacks, but how convenient to have a flashback of that very moment and place. Grace letting her in is also ridiculously unrealistic.

AF is very good though in portraying the loss of control/pain of rejection/helplessness leading to rage imo.

Inkanta · 22/04/2016 06:21

'AF is very good though in portraying the loss of control/pain of rejection/helplessness leading to rage imo.'

Yes she is.

NotJanine · 22/04/2016 09:12

I agree too - I do find her quite a believable character.

Just when I think I've got a grip on whats going on, some more characters pop up and I can't remember how they fit in! I've never watched Corrie so all those references are confusing me

So we've got -
The baker - broke into someone's house and got stabbed
The bloke who has just been released from prison - stalking student and taken her boyfriend prisoner
Illegal immigrant worker - killed boss's dog and is creeping out landlady
Someone in a car - ran over young prostitute (that was nasty)

Is that right?

SymphonyofShadows · 22/04/2016 11:33

The stepfather is a good suggestion. Does anyone else remember when he spoke to Grace that he was holding her arm and she looked at it in a way that could have been disgust? Perhaps DNA will show that he's the father of her baby?

LovePGtipsMonkey · 22/04/2016 12:07

NotJ - we have a lot more people on suspect list than just the obviously dodgy characters. Someone in the car isn't just someone , it's THE serial murderer.
Who could be the baker.
I think the baker fits the murderer profile for the two facts - he can get into someone's home without breaking any doors/windows which is the hallmark of all the murders. HOW did he get into all these flats? most people in London do not just open a door to unknowns. Must be someone v.experienced at picking the locks??And him supervising Cullen provides him with alibis (goes both ways). But I don't get it why did he break-in into the jogger's flat - to kill him but couldn't do it as he was stabbed - or just to steal.

Also I was typing my post late last night, but what I meant re copycat killings - whoever killed Grace did the copycat murder of those other ones, because it would be a huge coincidence that a random bloke would target Grace (priviledged, not founfd on any online pick-up/dating sites), as opposed to more 'common' people that the original murderer targeted - I'm 100% sure she was killed from someone she knew well, most likely to do with the business.

Whoever it was KNEW about the other/historic murders - possibly because they've seen pictures in Marcella's house - or they are involved in investigation! The obvious would be her H, as I thought before, but knowing now that he loved Grace and had a long affair and was crushed by her death - it was not him. Unless it was some dreadful accident - and he had to dispose of G's body and then dump M into her bath while she had a blackout. Not v.likely.
I'm still now thinking Grace was killed possibly by mother's partner - the only hitch with that is, how could he dump M back in her house. Both he and step brother know Jason's address but whoever did it must have known of the affair (step brother did) and must have heard the row to be sure that M is Jason's wife. But they didn't know about her blackouts! I think maybe she did NOT have a blackout that time, she had a horrid bruise on her head - so maybe she was just knocked on the head by Grace's killer and fainted.

Cullen - not the killer imo but he is already violent re BF - what's his plan though? to kill bf, or to let him go and in any case be sent to prison again? unless he just wants to hide him away to make it look to the girl that BF dumped her. But it's really weird that he'd want to likely go back to prison just after his release!

Parallel to that, the other newer murders could be either the original murderer returning OR a new one doing the copycat. Again would know the details - Cullen knew the details as he was a suspect so he could have told the baker - who then copied it to mislead the police.
So imo there are two or three murderers (Grace's one not the serial killer).

LovePGtipsMonkey · 22/04/2016 12:19

interesting idea, Symphony re him sleeping with Grace - I couldn't quite read her expression. Very unlikely though! I think his priority is money/wealthy wife, BUT now I'm thinking maybe he knew about Grace's affair and it was a veiled threat to tell mother unless Grace stops interfering in business? Kind of a hint at Grace's lovelife, that arm holding, sort of 'you naughtly girl'? Not that having an affair is necessarily so bad in the eyes of her mother, but he threatened anyway.. If he did knew of the affair then as in my post above he is even more easily her killer as he could have known for sure who M is and where to drop her off at home.

Ooh maybe after dumping M in her bath, he saw the photos of the murders on her wall in the house, and only THEN had the idea of going back to the forest and putting the bag etc on Grace's body - so that police think it was the existing suspect?

NotJanine · 22/04/2016 12:32

Sorry, my short list was meant to be those who we know have committed a crime, rather than a comprehensive list of suspects.
How do we know the one in the car was the serial killer?

I don't think I even know who the stepfather is Confused

LovePGtipsMonkey · 22/04/2016 16:23

NotJ, I don't call him a 'stepfather' - he's Grace's mother new partner of 4yrs, so didn't raise Grace. He sits on board meetings with them, and he warned Grace not to go against her mother in business - remember that?

LovePGtipsMonkey · 22/04/2016 16:33

NotJ, we know re the man who killled Cara is the serial one, as why else would he have killed her - she stole from everyone, he wouldn't kill just for the stealing, it's the fact that she met him and could identify him. What she stole from him belonged to one of the murder victims (plus he was threatening online). They police saw the watch in the pawn shop and then found the girl who sold it, and then tried to warn her off, but it was too late. They pretty much told her flatmate too, that he was a dangerous killer.
I think the Rome guy or the baker are prime suspects for that.

SymphonyofShadows · 22/04/2016 18:19

Rome guy and they person who ran the girl over both had the same sort of car. Ford Focus?

NotJanine · 23/04/2016 12:10

ah, was the 'stepfather' the bloke from Stella?

Owllady · 23/04/2016 12:18

Yes, the gp from stella :o
I get the feeling we all watch too much tv
