why did he tell maya hes had an affair i must of missed something somewhere and why is the bloke on death row actually in the story it dont make sense

Adventuregame · 25/04/2016 16:44

He told her about an affair because the 'handler' said it would prevent her/Julia from digging further into the truth of who she was.

raisedbyguineapigs · 25/04/2016 17:46

Yes it seems a bit overwritten. Why have the death row guy? And why even have the epilepsy? The main story of a guy undercover and death in custody is enough

Blondeshavemorefun · 25/04/2016 17:54

i think julia will die

Ireallydontseewhy · 25/04/2016 19:19

If julia dies i'll be really annoyed with nick. But i agree seeing her name written down and then shredded was a bit ominous. Nick really is an awful person - after abigail's been murdered he then gives them julia's name, so can hardly claim he doesn't know it's a possibility.

I think he's so well written - we see him first as great dad, and gradually come to see him as selfish, deceitful, and making up the abuse story to get maya's sympathy was revolting! (Also a bit weird - marmite? and loved the extra detail that it was 'apple' brandy. Couldn't just stick to shandy!)
Will the maverick journo stay strong, and redeem himself after all these years?

NotJanine · 26/04/2016 10:28

I'm enjoying it still, just going with it rather than questioning anything.

Nick is a great character, I can't help liking him but at the same time he's a very naughty boy! I did like the part where he was pretending to talk to 'his care home friend' on the phone and Maya overheard and left the house again. It's good that she is gradually gradually discovering more and more, but biding her time over how she is going to respond.

member · 27/04/2016 13:22

The bit where the handler told Nick to tell Maya he'd had an affair was so stupid;Maya had already bought his story on how he'd just met up with Abigail after years. MYa's distress at being told of an affair was more likely to motivate Julia to discover what Nick had been up to given her bff status and antagonism toward Nick!

fiftyval · 27/04/2016 14:30

There is a link to Rudi on death row - Michael Antwi talked about his case at one of the meetings to illustrate the racism behind the conviction andthe sentence. I suspect that is going to be key when we learn why the police conived in Michael murder. Perhaps pressure or misleading information from U S A about Michael's activities.

NotJanine · 28/04/2016 09:07

Don't know if this has alrady been mentioned - but how gorgeous is their house?

gingercat12 · 28/04/2016 13:03

Nick must be into interior design. LOL.

mouldycheesefan · 28/04/2016 19:10

The house itself is lovely but not a fan of the furnishings, that duvet cover is dire.

WhatALoadOfOldBollocks · 30/04/2016 10:56

"The house itself is lovely but not a fan of the furnishings, that duvet cover is dire."
LOL, I thought exactly the same! Grin

hollyisalovelyname · 30/04/2016 20:24

I thought the same re duvet cover Smile
I still don't understand why they are ( probably) prepared to kill so many to keep the real story of Michael's death getting out. Did I miss something ?

hollyisalovelyname · 30/04/2016 20:25

Why did AG particularly want Maya as DPP?

NoahVale · 01/05/2016 09:24

I have been watching this, but avoiding thread until I was up to date
so poor Sophie, Nick is not all he seems.

NoahVale · 01/05/2016 09:25

I am not sure if it has been said, Nick, supposedly a writer,
Very unsuccessful, or did he suddenly manage to get publishing deals, and become a writer

NoahVale · 01/05/2016 09:35

Agree about Why meet at Oxford?

and also Why say you had an affair, it was unnecessary. I know it is to stop the digging but surely he had stopped any digging any his explanation of their childhood

hairymelonwalton · 01/05/2016 11:12

is tonight the last one

hollyisalovelyname · 01/05/2016 14:52

Why did one of the 'baddy' trio say at the start that the AG wanted Mya for DPP.

SauvignonBlanche · 01/05/2016 15:06

Tonight is the 5th, out of 6.

Blondeshavemorefun · 01/05/2016 19:46

I think they wanted her as ddp as they know she will dig to the end / or as they know nick has skeletons in the cupboard which will discredit her?

hollyisalovelyname · 01/05/2016 21:08

Thanks blondes

Shenanagins · 01/05/2016 21:08
