Anyone else think this looks good?

OP posts:
Davros · 19/04/2016 17:58

I thought there was only one DPP but when she ranted on about her 20 year old case and dropped everything to go off to USA I did wonder. I know she said she had to keep those two cases but does that mean she can drop everything else when something happens? It seems odd.

She certainly isn't is she?!

Ireallydontseewhy · 19/04/2016 18:51

Maybe not stupid, blondes, but ruthless - or at least very singleminded (nick, i mean). He has lived a life which means cutting his father out of his 'real' life, and decides not to go to his deathbed when he gets the call from maya (admittedly there is the complication of the surprise party as well!). Doesn't go to the funeral either.

I think it's quite clever - we start out liking him as a sympathetic character who's very supportive of maya and great with his dcs, - but then learn he is capable of betrayal. He may not have realised they'd kill abigail, but must have suspected they wouldn't do anything good!

Blondeshavemorefun · 19/04/2016 22:47

he must have reliesed that naming her would kill her

hes a copper, the 'witness; was causing them major grief, his boss kept asking for info from his wife

it was obvious, tho as the recap said how the hell did they find her in 45mins and kill her

Davros · 24/04/2016 22:30

So when DOES Maya do any DPP work? How can she go driving around with uncontrolled epilepsy, wouldn't the hospital have to report it?! Shock

gingercat12 · 24/04/2016 22:38

Davros no one works in this programme. Look at Nick, Clem, Julia...

mouldycheesefan · 24/04/2016 22:43

It's started to nerves now, why would he make up an affair, makes no sense.

Blondeshavemorefun · 24/04/2016 22:57

recap ep 4

BitOutOfPractice · 25/04/2016 04:55

This just isn't as gripping as I'd hoped. I dunno, I don't really seem to care very much about the characters.

hollyisalovelyname · 25/04/2016 07:27

Why are the police so invested in keeping Michael's murder a secret that almost 20 years later they murder an ex undercover police officer and demand that Nick remains deep undercover and risks losing his family by pretending to have had an affair ?
I missed the first episode and got a summary on this thread.. Perhaps I missed something big in the plot?
Why were they so keen to have Sophie O's character as DPP if it was going to be so troublesome to the powers that be ?
How did the DPP meet the policeman who was involved at the police station on the day of the murder of Michael? He is now running a farm.

ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe · 25/04/2016 07:35

This is probably nit picking but it annoys me - the daughter looks loser than Maya, also, they had their phones in a prison. Never going to happen.
And the short skirt, you just don't go to a max security prison in Louisiana, or anywhere else for that matter, in the flimsiest of short skirts.

I liked the last episode though, I was going off it the previous week.

ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe · 25/04/2016 07:36

Daughter looks older .

gingercat12 · 25/04/2016 08:33

Chardonnay These were my exact thoughts.

Also Nick makes up such ridiculously complicated stories that they are bound to arouse suspicion. He should have just said I fancied that woman or I was drunk.

BitOutOfPractice · 25/04/2016 09:13

I'm also very confused about the two suits. The ones that met in the lobby that aren't supposed to know each other.

bakeoffcake · 25/04/2016 09:17

I thought it was really good last night though I do agree there are lots of unanswered and confusing questions.
As holly says I don't understand why they are so keen to cover the murder up that they would go on to murder someone else.Hmm

eddiemairswife · 25/04/2016 09:55

Nick is supposed to be a writer. Does he do any actual writing? Has he done any in the last 20 years? Wouldn't his wife wonder why he is so unproductive? I suppose he is still getting his police salary.

Blondeshavemorefun · 25/04/2016 09:57

Bit weird episode

So much makes up a huge lie/story rather then tell the truth

Again he blabbed reporters name. She will prob die next

Who paid the flight for the eldest daughter - sure would cost

Who is paying for all the stuff maya does for the case? 20yrs of fees would add up

Really not sure how this will end ........

He will prob lose his family

And would maya really tell a clients mum she was preg before her partner?

ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe · 25/04/2016 10:13

Am also Hmm they don't have any epilepsy medicine, I know there is something you give the patient when they have a fit.

I found it strange. And the driving around.

MadamoiselleMango · 25/04/2016 10:25

It's a bit stupid isn't it, nothing really makes sense and people talk like no one does in real life.., I'm very aware of it being written if you know what I mean. Despite all that I'm still enjoying it!

GinThief · 25/04/2016 11:19

The epilepsy story line has kind of ruined the program for me. Having recently undergone tests myself the first thing discussed was stopping driving!

mouldycheesefan · 25/04/2016 13:21

Yes she hasn't notice that after twenty years he still hasn't finished the crime novel he was writing 😂

raisedbyguineapigs · 25/04/2016 14:15

Yes initially with the writing he could say he was a sahm especially as one is autistic but when they are teens surely you would get going again? And why would you not just throw a cop under the bus for the initial death in custody rather than murder someone else? Abigail could be put down as an unreliable witness with a grudge easily enough.

raisedbyguineapigs · 25/04/2016 14:16

Autocorrected sahd to sahm! What does that tell us I wonder???
