Is it just me or is Morven THE most annoying character ever?!

OP posts:
Poppytime · 07/06/2016 22:48

Oh man, so sad!!! Why did I have to watch that just before I went to bed?! Need something to cheer me up now, trying not to wake up the kids with my snivelling!

So how long until the next season then? I always thought they just ran concurrently

EBearhug · 08/06/2016 00:14

I am in Scotland this week, and they didn't show it till 22:45. I don't need this just before bed!

Händen is a great character.

RIP Arthur.

EBearhug · 08/06/2016 00:14

Hanssen. Stupid autocorrect.

Imvotingshakeitallabout · 08/06/2016 00:28

'Twas a lovely episode...but can someone explain the wet feet for me please?!

I thought it was very well done. It could have been horribly twee and soppy, but it was really lovely .

Do you reckon Zosia will blame herself for his untimely demise, given that she pushed for the stent to buy him time? Poor Zosia Sad.

GissASquizz · 08/06/2016 07:17

I wondered about the wet feet.

MarvinKMooney · 08/06/2016 08:08

Wet feet and footprints = leaving your mark?? Dunno! Did like the bit where his wife said "I'll walk you home": he looked down and he was wearing shoes. Ready to go. Sob.

I held it together until Zosia collapsed then let the tears roll. Even dh had something in his eye ;)

And Zosia's dad is just horrible. He was there like the devil on zosia's shoulder willing her on to not let Jac 'win'. And she never got to see Diggers before he went.

Lovely to see the old faces again!

QueenStreaky · 08/06/2016 08:39

Wet feet: I'm looking for a Napoleon link because he was so important to Arthur.

'Bleucher was still many miles from the battlefield, and Napoleon had sent a sizeable force of his own to intercept him. It was not clear whether Bleucher would get there on time, or at all. The night before the battle, the soldiers on both sides caught what sleep they could under a heavy downpour. The next morning, Sunday, June 18, they were sopping wet. So was the field on which they were to fight, now dotted with puddles and caked in mud.'

Possible? Arthur has fought his battle?

EBearhug · 08/06/2016 08:48

And she never got to see Diggers before he went.

I was a bit surprised that quite so many of the staff could just leave what they were doing to be at his bedside together. Of course I realise Holby doesn't quite work the same as the rest of the world.

PissPotPourri · 08/06/2016 08:55

RE the wet feet, I took it just as a visual pointer to show that he was scared and uncomfortable ie he was all ready to go but something wasn't quite in place that was making the transition wrong. Then Malven turned up and he looked down and he had his shoes on, so nothing was wrong and he was ready to go. She had given him everything he needed to leave in peace. Not sure it had any deeper significance.

BeautyGoesToBenidorm · 08/06/2016 10:16

I reckon there's something in Queen's Napoleon theory.

I'm irrationally pleased he got his grandad's medals back before he died too.

HalleLouja · 08/06/2016 11:03

I am not sure how Dom is going to cope Diggers-less.

BeautyGoesToBenidorm · 08/06/2016 11:17

Me neither Halle.

On the plus side, Morven can piss off now Grin

bluesky · 08/06/2016 11:25

It was brilliant, also an avid watcher since the beginning.

Zosia couldn't cope with his illness and 'the end' due to her Mum dying of cancer. Found it very moving when Jac hugged her....

Loved the dance, and loved them bringing back Chantelle and Malik, brilliant.

Digby was such a great character and his relationship with Hansen was special too.

Optimist1 · 08/06/2016 11:34

Now that the initial tide of emotion has passed, would it be indelicate of me to comment that I was envious of Diggers having Hanssen and Ric dancing at his bedside? (I'd be happy with either one at mine Wink)

BeautyGoesToBenidorm · 08/06/2016 11:42

Optimist, I certainly wouldn't object either! Wink

TheDrsDocMartens · 08/06/2016 14:12

Loved Ethan/Diggers 'never in the same room comments'
And the dancing

Spoilt for me by them a in the same room. And who phoned Zosia ?

LunaLoveg00d · 08/06/2016 14:17

I didn't get the wet feet reference either.

Lovely to see Malik and Chantelle again though :-)

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 08/06/2016 14:28

I haven't watched Holby for ages - watched Johnny and Bonnie - the Wedding and the annoying Scottish dr with the Pharmacist wife (was she pg by Dr Valentine? I gave up caring TBH)

I knew Diggers was ill from seeing bits on TV and catchup here. But no idea this was happening until I saw this thread on Active.

Poor Diggers Sad, I thought the end was very spooky in an afterlife way but not too drawn out drama .
YY to Jac and Zosia at the end (it won't last though)

When he started at Holby , DH and I used to place a bet on which patient would say "Is he even old enough to be a Dr? / Is he qualified? Looks too young/ " and he pushed his glasses up onto his nose.

BeautyGoesToBenidorm · 08/06/2016 14:30

Oh god, the Johnny/Bonnie storyline was THE most tedious shite EVER. She may even have been more irritating than Morven!

spiderlight · 08/06/2016 15:11

I had a proper good old wail at that. Bye bye Diggers :(

Ilovefluffysheep · 08/06/2016 16:37

I didn't watch last night but had to come and read the thread just to prepare myself. My friend passed away 2.5 weeks ago from cancer, so I know that it will be a really hard episode to watch. I will make sure I have a supply of tissues ready.

That spoilt Johnny. Should have left him withJac.

I'm wondering if Jac is trying to stop Zosia ending up like her.
