Is it just me or is Morven THE most annoying character ever?!

OP posts:
Optimist1 · 25/08/2016 19:12

I saw it. They've established Guy as a manipulative, scheming man for so long that I didn't like them coming up with the abusive mum explanation. Tristan will obviously be The Enemy for future episodes, but TBH Ric could read the telephone directory and I'd be a happy woman, so I can't comment on his "war" speech! I quite like Valentine's admirer - her vitality and enthusiasm makes a good contrast to his moodiness.

Poppytime · 27/08/2016 07:23

Just watched Thursday's - I'm no Guy fan but man, does Jac love a good grudge!

Poppytime · 27/08/2016 07:24

Ps agree Optimist - Ric is v charismatic Wink

Wheresthattoo · 30/08/2016 20:21

I missed the 1st 5 minutes of today's-what's going on? What accident has happened?

PopFizz · 30/08/2016 20:26

Where's I'm on delay, about fifteen minutes behind, but the accident was Saturdays casualty - helicopter crash into the hospital

Wheresthattoo · 30/08/2016 20:30

How annoying - I don't watch casualty so it's very confusing!

PopFizz · 30/08/2016 20:34

Ah, basically Connie (woman in bed, head of emergency care) was run off the road by another woman, and her and her daughter plunged off a cliff. They put her daughter in a helicopter and it crashed. Daughter critical, head injury. This is follow on from that, and the fall out.

Wheresthattoo · 30/08/2016 20:47

Bad day for Connie's daughter then! I take it the other woman ran her off the road?

OhYouBadBadKitten · 30/08/2016 20:54

watching for the first time in a long time cos of the casualty tie in. I have no clue what is going on.

PopFizz · 30/08/2016 21:00

Yes wheresthat, Stephanie Sims ran her off the road

CheesecakeWarrior · 30/08/2016 21:46

Ffs!!!! Bernie & Serena Angry
I know we predicted it but I'm still annoyed about it.

Was completely confused about the Casulty thing. Is the blonde woman who ran the other one off the road really evil?

Smithy better not die!

It's all been Too much for me today!

gingerhobo48 · 30/08/2016 21:54

I agree cheesecakewarrior, I actually screamed at the telly.Husband was like. . .WTF!!! but then I explained this thread and he was like " aaaahhh" I understand. It seems so out of character for Serena, I hated it. Didn't think I liked Smithy, he really annoyed me when he was on Casulty especially with that whole Tess debacle but because we have seen so much of his kids and they are lovely, I don't want anymore upset for them IYSWIM.

PopFizz · 30/08/2016 22:16

The blonde one is seriously unstable - basically abusing her own daughter, and then ran Connie off road etc.

I wasn't impressed with the Serena and bernie. I also didn't like what they did with Serena's nephew today either. It was unnecessary imo.

Fletch best not die. He was funny on Twitter tonight though!

More aftermath apparently in casualtyon Saturday

Optimist1 · 30/08/2016 22:50

Another one who's annoyed at the Serena/Bernie development - they represented such a good team of strong, capable women supporting each other in the workplace; a romantic turn is not what we need.

Fletch took his eye off the ball again today, didn't he? Hope he rallies and recovers OK.

Anyone else think that Morven is on the brink of some sort of breakdown/collapse? Perhaps Bernie's son will be the one to help her through it.

Jaynebxl · 31/08/2016 07:08

Fletch is on twitter? ? As in someone is doing a character twitter account or the actor has one?
And I wasn't impressed with Serena and Bernie either. Total volte face. Why can't they be strong women friends?
And finally. .. am I right in thinking that they're (someone anyway) is blaming the mad bloke for the stabbing and not Stephanie?
It did get a bit confusing last night because I don't watch casualty.

Shakey15000 · 31/08/2016 07:10

Ooh didn't know we had a holby thread!

CheesecakeWarrior · 31/08/2016 08:45

Yes Jayne I got the impression that he was being blamed too

PopFizz · 31/08/2016 09:34

Jayne the actor who plays Fletch.

Was it not the man who stabbed him then? I thought fletch pushed him off, and then saw the blood, and the man had the screwdriver in his hand?

Optimist1 · 31/08/2016 09:49

I just watched the stabbing scene again and it was definitely the bloke who stabbed Fletch. When he was told to put the screwdriver down he just lowered it to his side and when the stabbing took place madwoman was still crouched on the floor behind Fletch.

Jaynebxl · 31/08/2016 10:02

Wow I was sure it was the woman. So why did the man stab him?

Optimist1 · 31/08/2016 10:19

I got the impression the man was convinced that the woman was a threat to Bernie and that's why he was threatening her with the screwdriver. Fletch's intervention and concern for the woman's wellbeing were getting in the man's way so the man stabbed him. That hospital is a very dangerous place to be, isn't it?

PopFizz · 31/08/2016 10:28

The guy was convinced that the woman had set up the helicopter crash and other stuff to kill bernie. He was convinced she had to die. Fletch got in his way.

PopFizz · 31/08/2016 10:29

Optimist, how many times has it blown up in casualty? It was only a few months ago the guy with the grenade threatened to blow up guy self and fletch got injured. I'm sure most nurses don't have that work place worry on a post surgical ward.

Optimist1 · 31/08/2016 10:50

Agree, Pop - I watch both programmes so all the death and mayhem is doubled! I feel a bit sorry for viewers who don't watch Casualty who had all this crossover stuff to work out. (Having said that, viewers who don't watch Casualty probably feel sorry for a sad sap like me whose Saturday night is almost always spent in front of the TV.)

JustDanceAddict · 31/08/2016 14:03

DH loves Casualty but doesn't watch Holby so I had to explain some of it! Even my kids knew who Digby was, and they were a bit yikes at Serena and Bernie's snog!
