You've been warned Wink

So, we know Glenn is currently alive but do we think he's going to die getting his head caved in by Negan like in the comics?

(All other spoilery topics welcome! I have difficulty keeping quiet on the other thread.)

I'm starting to think the strongest contenders for Glenn's comic death are:

Carol: she's long gone in the comics. She's not very relatable anymore because of how she treated Sam. She didn't prepare him, she frightened him so much that he couldn't function, which lead to the death of his whole family. She's not really helping the story move forward now.

Maggie: if she goes on to give birth we have an extra baby. I also think it would be really easy to swap Glenn into Maggie's comic role (much as I suspect Enid is being prepped to stand in for Sophia).

Morgan: one of the oldest characters who despite having a good following from the comics, just hasn't translated well to the screen.

Abraham: storyline-wise, we're not far off his comic death. He's bringing a bit of comedy but not adding a huge amount to the story and has just had his reform where he suddenly decided he values his life and wants to stop being reckless for no reason. It's also far more believable that nobody would leap up to try to stop his head being caved in...if Abe can't overpower the bloke, none of them could.

I'm amazed any of the cast can sleep to be honest. It must be so intense filming it. I was wondering the other day if any of the cast have started stock piling food and ammo just in case it really happens Grin

BeyondBootcampsAgain · 29/02/2016 14:05

Anyone seen this weeks yet?

ElderlyKoreanLady · 29/02/2016 21:00

Yep, just. What time does it finish airing here?

BeyondBootcampsAgain · 29/02/2016 21:03

About an hour, i guess?

ElderlyKoreanLady · 29/02/2016 21:08

I need people to hurry and catch up. Something is frustrating me! Grin

Feel alright saying this now that it's aired Grin

Glenn has officially outlived his comic counterpart and it they haven't yet subbed anyone in for his death. My money is now on Abe. He's very suddenly started to grow as a person...that didn't go well for Noah.

He hasnt outlived comic glenn yet, has he?

ElderlyKoreanLady · 01/03/2016 10:40

Yep, IIRC comic Glenn's body made it to the Hilltop. Fairly sure he didn't make it there alive.

I'll have to check that now though!

I was sure abes death came before glenns, i'll be checking too now Grin

BeyondBootcampsAgain · 01/03/2016 14:52

So... in the comics, a smaller group go to hilltop first time (inc glenn) and agree to help them. While they're on the way back to alexandria, abe is killed. Bigger group then head to hilltop, this time inc maggie too. Glenn is killed on the way there, so yes, just his body makes it to hilltop with maggie.

ElderlyKoreanLady · 01/03/2016 16:38

Ooh, thanks, hadn't had the chance to check yet.

Looks like they've condensed the storyline and Abe and Glenn have outlived their comic counterparts for now at least

I'm thinking Abe takes Glenn's comic death. Abe's comic death felt like a non-event to me.

I think that particular death will bring the shock factor back regardless of who it is. It's really quite different from anything they've shown so far.

Someone has to be killed by Lucille or there's no point in it really.

Meeep · 02/03/2016 08:22

I thought the way Jesus described it happening to someone else in the past, the 16yo, indicated they weren't going to do it in the same way in the show with our people. It's not a shock if they've already told you it happens when groups meet him.

But, I think Abe could go, now he's had his epiphany, seems like it might be time to die, sorry Abe. :( I think Daryl will die too.

I didn't find that death very believable Voyage. It definitely has the shock factor but I think putting it on screen as-is would provoke a few 'oh fuck off' reactions.

The overwhelming majority of walkers make a lot of noise if they hear people. And they don't walk the same way people do. At that distance I really don't think it's plausible that all of them, including some very experienced walker-killers, missed that what was coming towards them was a walker, just because its head was covered. And none of them even questioned why her head was covered.
