I see it's on Fox tonight: S6 E7
Is that us back from the mid season break, or is it a repeat of what we were watching before xmas?
(oh the waiting......)

Nope, you don't need a bite to turn. The bite just kills them, the virus they all already have turns them after death, whatever they die of.

Even so though, I think quite a lot proportionally would be allowed to turn after a bite. Anyone without a companion, anyone who's companions panicked and left, anyone whose companions couldn't get to them to destroy their brain.

What does confuse me is the severe shortage of child walkers. I've barely seen any at all barring bunny girl, Sophia and the child in the refuge place.

Abraid2 · 20/02/2016 12:47

Otherwise humanity could just try to avoid or kill all walkers and it would be over. But at the moment an isolated mountain community with no walkers would be plagued as soon as, say, an elderly person living alone died unsupervised and bit someone coming in to check on them.

thelifeofamber · 20/02/2016 13:02

I know you turn into a walker however you die but I don't believe that many of the walkers are like that through natural causes.

limitedperiodonly · 20/02/2016 13:16

Lori was scared that Lil Ass Kicker would die inside her and turn Shock

limitedperiodonly · 20/02/2016 13:19

There was a child walker in that episode. He was seen from the back and I can't remember who killed him now. I noticed it because it was unusual. Maybe the producers think audiences wouldn't like to see child walkers killing or being killed. But yes, there would be more children.

Oh
My
God

Although does it make me a bad person if I REALLY didn't care about blonde lady and her children?

My theory about child walkers is either they are too you to walk, and are therefore stuck in cots / cribs inside where we don't see or they've been eaten up. You could presume a child would have an adult carer who would either put the child down if they turned, or eat the child if the adult turned. Adults have a chance of getting away with just one bite (and therefore turning) whereas a child is more likely to just be eaten. I think due to their vulnerability (either due to having no adult carer due to being abandoned or adult carer dying on a run, or being eaten by a zombified adult carer) most children probably went down in the first wave. Also you would think at the beginning parents would want to keep their kids off the street so there may be shed loads of mini walkers behind closed doors in all the abandoned houses.

limitedperiodonly · 20/02/2016 13:45

I felt the same twll. They were all very annoying. I used not to care about Coral and Lil Ass Kicker, but they've grown on me.

Anyone else rewatch the biker gang explosion looking for the mysterious car in the back ground that the Internet thinks is Negan?
Me & ds(17) couldn't see a car!

rallytog1 · 20/02/2016 17:12

A car just creeps into the shot on the back left when the explosion happens - tbh part of me wonders if it's just a production error!

Angelto5 · 20/02/2016 17:43

Thanks rally -might have to watch it again in slow motion to see if we can catch it.

thelifeofamber · 20/02/2016 18:15

I just watched it again and you can see a car, for all of 2 seconds. I think it's an error too.

I'm not sure why Sam gets such a hard time. He's around 10/11 and never had to face walkers ever and just carried on his life as normal.

Can you imagine a 10 year old child living in an abusive household, having your father murdered and being told you would get eaten alive.

He saw a child his age as a walker, he was surrounded by them. I think his freak out was a pretty normal reaction.

limitedperiodonly · 20/02/2016 19:21

I felt sorry for Sam once I started thinking straight. Carol really did a number on the poor boy. He was a normal child at the beginning. Didn't he meet her because he was excited about her making him some biscuits?

I also think more people would freak out and just be useless and die. I like to think I'd be a ninja but I think I'd just want to give up like the woman who chose to be vaporised in the explosion with the research scientist in the 2nd series. Or I'd just whinge and Carol would probably take me out for the good of the team.

That wouldn't make for an exciting show though Grin

I've just got caught up after being away.

What an episode! Was not too bothered about the demise of that annoying family. Motorbike scene was amazing. And am glad Glenn survived- thought they might finish him off after the relief we all had at his survival.

Was on holiday until this morning and the plane had the full series of Fear the Walking Dead (which meant I got no sleep on 6 hour flight Grin)

It was pretty good- has anyone else watched it?

abigamarone · 21/02/2016 00:46

For a moment there I thought you meant they were showing the 'fear the walking dead' webisodes on the plane. That would've been terrifying (set of mini episodes set on a plane at the beginning of the outbreak)

I thought it got better as it went on and am looking forward to its return.

Monroe · 21/02/2016 08:45

ShockShock
My nerves were shredded watching that. When Carl got shot I actually thought it must be a dream sequence and was waiting for Rick to wake up as it was all too much.

It was definitely one of the best ever for me. Although probably one of my favourite bits was when Michonne kissed Carl's head before racing outside to chop up a few walkers. I always think of her as his mother figure

QueenStromba · 21/02/2016 14:51

That whole sequence did have a dream like quality to it.

limitedperiodonly · 21/02/2016 16:31

I thought it was a dream because the shot appeared to go right through his eye and also because they seemed to have forgotten the bit where Sam called: 'Mom!' shortly after leaving the house in his Pizza Poncho in the previous episode.

Monroe · 21/02/2016 17:32

I thought it went straight through as well. It wasn't till I watched talking dead I knew it ricocheted off the side. (Did you see the dummy, how realistic was that!)

I have to admit, I think I could have coped with a rick in the shower dream sequence a la bobby ewing style.

I'm going to have to watch it again. I think I spent most of it going "whaaaaattt????"

Did anyone else wonder how Daryl managed to get injured in a totally silent fight? I thought he must have subdued him immediately but he somehow ended up with a knife injury in his back without the other guy alerting the others.

SagaAndMartinsLiftConvos · 21/02/2016 17:35

I felt desperately sad for Sam, and quite cross with Carol for saying what she did to him. Never hated Carl either. Think I am just not good at disassociating child-on-screen-in-peril from my own DC and how they'd be in that situation, even when said situation is preposterous Grin

Think Jessie and Sam should have gone to the church with Fr Gabe and the baby, sure Rick / Michonne / Carl / Ron could have managed whatever that plan was they had with the cars.

Oh well, onward we go with the pared-down cast!

MsAdorabelleDearheartVonLipwig · 21/02/2016 19:25

Sam wasn't entirely sane to start with. He'd watched his father abuse his mother so much that he asked Carol for a gun. What Carol did was horrible though. I know she did it to protect her secret identity, as it were, but I thought it went too far.

limited I've seen that before but had forgotten all about it. So sad. Mind you baby Rosie was lucky that live people found her dad first, and not dead ones. Grin
