Not liking the market garden because I can't forgive him putting GROW on the wall.

If that was my house I'd be pulling the letters off on camera.

SealSong · 16/02/2016 19:57

Yeah, GROW was a bit naff. I liked the wall carrots though!

Stratter5 · 16/02/2016 20:01

Has Slummy's house been on yet?

iwouldgoouttonight · 16/02/2016 20:45

I liked the market garden one. They'd have to always buy fresh carrots with leaves on though otherwise the effect is ruined Grin

I didn't like the hessian/oven curtain one at all. Thought it looked messy and unfinished.

I wish they could think of some alternative words for 'homeowner'. They've obviously been told that's what they call them but it just sounds weird to me.

GrouchyKiwi · 16/02/2016 20:47

Slummy said she was on later in the series.

I liked Sarah's room. The curtains worked surprisingly well.

Jamie's was nice but how many carrots did he buy to decorate with?! I'm very pleased to see different greens working together in that way without being overwhelming. Makes me more confident in my choice.

Lilly used nice colours, though I'm not sure I'd put them together. Her clients were very direct, which I appreciated.

carlajean · 16/02/2016 20:53

The w in grow was back to front (picky)

annandale · 16/02/2016 21:11

Unexpectedly sad that Lily has gone, I loved the colours she used.

I thought it was very impressive that the worktops matched the flooring - sort of thing I usually manage to get just wrong Blush

squiz81 · 16/02/2016 22:17

The problem with Jamie's is it won't stay looking that good. Fresh bunches of carrots dry up and drop bits off quite quickly. Those boxes are fine when everything is fresh, but in reality they will look tatty most of the time I reckon.

I also hate words on the wall.

In my opinion Lily should have gone yesterday after sticking random bits of wood to a cabinet, so pleased with today's result.

LoisWilkersonsLastNerve · 17/02/2016 00:07

Carrots stuffed in a dirty crate, neck straining tv position, twee words on the wall and an egg basket that looked like a torture device...and that was the room I liked! Grin

ppeatfruit · 17/02/2016 08:56

I HATE words on walls too fgs, also the half boxes would be fine in a green grocer's shop but having to live with them Hmm I agree Lois (not for me they'd drive me mad).

Lily's dark blue in a kitchen instantly makes me think of oily splashes on walls from cooking, it'd look terrible in a week. She was sweet but had to go.

Why didn't we see Sarah's new sink? I liked her room though I agree with Sophie and SDTG about the silly bit of hessian on the wall , WHY??.

The Fr. have had washable curtains instead of doors on their base kitchen cupboards forever , they are not, despite Daniel's strange ideas, "a trend."

absolutelynotfabulous · 17/02/2016 09:38

I liked the kitchen challenge more than the others because you HAVE to design for practicality. So, no dodgy, grease-wicking paint or daft hessian wallcoverings!

I still don't get why you'd want to cover an oven with a curtain, though. It's an oven and part of a kitchen.

I'm surprised that the designers didn't paint their appliances to blend in/make a statement.

dillite · 17/02/2016 09:42

I liked the colours in Jamie's kitchen. And the rotting carrot issue can be solved by stuffing the boxes full of plastic carrots.

I also liked the dark blue part of the kitchen in Liy's kitchen, but hated the light colours. They did not go together whatsoever IMO.

Hated that hessian wall- wtf was that all about? And don't even start me on that lampshade! A blooming monstrosity. Although her builders did a fantastic job with rebuilding that rotten kitchen. The smell must have been terrible.

ppeatfruit · 17/02/2016 10:01

Yes the smell must've been awful dillite no wonder the homeowner was soooo pleased to have got rid of it. I wonder if they have to pay something towards it?

OTheHugeManatee · 17/02/2016 15:30

I felt sticky just looking at that hessian wall I thought Lily had to go this time, on the basis that her homeowners hated the result, but tbh aesthetically I thought hers was nicer than Sarah's. That just looked unfinished and manky, and will look tatty in ten minutes flat.

Davros · 17/02/2016 16:16

I too hate words on walls

cosmicglittergirl · 17/02/2016 16:53

Lily's teal was very striking, I liked it a lot. I also liked Sarah's corner shelves, and duck egg blue cupboards, but not a fan of fabric in the kitchen.
The farmer's market one was my least fave.

oliviaclottedcream · 17/02/2016 16:57

I love it too. But the young chap keeps saying "Kinda" about 5 times a sentence and this is annoying me enormously.

OTheHugeManatee · 17/02/2016 17:28

Olivia - do you think the 'kinda' is a youth thing and will disappear with age and confidence? Or are we all going to be fuming as old gimmers about the GPs and policemen half our age who say 'like' and 'kinda' every five words?

oliviaclottedcream · 17/02/2016 18:25

I will

OTheHugeManatee · 17/02/2016 18:40

What's the betting tonight? My money's on wall-carrot boy to go through. I just think he wants it more even if he really needs to stop with the crap stencilling now.

GrouchyKiwi · 17/02/2016 19:03

Doesn't look like he's giving up on the stencilling. Grin

GrouchyKiwi · 17/02/2016 19:06

Oooh, that travelling client was in NZ about to be devoured by a kea

TheSpottedZebra · 17/02/2016 19:10

Orange? Slummy said lots of orange...

BMW6 · 17/02/2016 19:20

Why spend £75 on a rug that you then cut up to make a cushion that you could buy for £20?

MrsJamin · 17/02/2016 19:32

That leatherette pouffe is horrid.
