So excited. It seems to have been a long time !

Caught up when I got home
Liked the new lawyer and love the woman playing Ruth, she was fab in The Riches.

Eli, thought his haircut was fine, his behaviour to Alicia in keeping with the shock he'd just had

Alicia, think wig redone partly to show her new lifestyle!

Not at all clear why Alicia needs a Chief of Staff. PA, EA, yes, but why Chief of Staff? Hope not being dense.

Cary, yes lovely Matt doesn't seem to age!

My feeling is that this should be the last season. I think it would be better if it didn't get stale. The court case was very interesting I thought, but the power plays are going to get old, I mean, how long can you stretch that out?

wickedwaterwitch · 29/01/2016 16:16

I hadn't thought it was a wig, (Alicia) do you all think so?!

She is whippet thin, but looks amazing.

Pooseyfrumpture · 29/01/2016 16:21

I thought Alicia's old wig was realistic as in it looked like real hair... but I could not keep my eyes off the sorry excuse she was wearing in that episode Shock It was awful.

lorelei9 · 29/01/2016 16:46

Wicked, it's not just a wig, it's a $10k wig....different ones of course. My favourite was season 6.

JM talks about her real hair here....well it made me lol

You would have thought two top lawyers in Illinois would know the apparent law that a housekeeper couldn't inherit over $xxx - or were they just trying it on?

Also shows what a shitty legal system they have - you could be arrested for a crime you didn't commit, end up being seen by a lawyer for two minutes and end up with a massive bail bond. If this is true to life I can see how there would be loads of miscarriages of justice and people 'stuck in the system'.

Travelledtheworld · 29/01/2016 18:10

Yes Rooftopcat.
It would seem that American jails are full of potentially innocent people, waiting trial, who cannot afford bail and so have be locked up until their trial date.
Remember Cary himself was in this position last episode ?

Oh this is brilliant! Love this show.
Can't wait to see Jeffrey Dean Morgan he is hotter than hot.

Love the twist with Eli. Basically cannot wait for more.

TensionWheelsCoolHeels · 29/01/2016 22:09

Going a bit off topic, John Oliver did a piece on his show about the bail bonds system & the disproportionate sums charges against those who could least afford it for minor crimes etc. See YouTube link here

It looks like it is a scarily screwed up system(which I've little knowledge or understanding of tbf).

Travelledtheworld · 30/01/2016 09:59

ThanksTension.

It's pretty much my understanding that court systems can be like that, yes. Across the world though, including here.

fascicle · 30/01/2016 11:58

Bail system and presiding judge were indeed awful.

Loved the post-it note science and also Grace being all professional.

Not an amazing episode, but I suppose its purpose was scene setting.

clangermum · 30/01/2016 14:18

Will take me a while to get used to Ruth not being the spy handler from The Americans

fascicle · 30/01/2016 14:26

Not seen the later series of The Americans, but I did wonder if Ruth would let Alicia out of the car, based on her character in The Americans.

ILikeToClean · 30/01/2016 15:35

Quite liked the episode, especially Eli - he's the best thing in it and has v pretty eyelashes!

RomComPhooey · 31/01/2016 15:26

Will take me a while to get used to Ruth not being the spy handler from The Americans

Or the backwoods crime matriarch in Justified, in which she was truly terrifying.

lorelei9 · 31/01/2016 15:28

ooh the Americans looks good!

At the end of the last series, I thought that Peter would have known about the voter machine rigging all along. I reckon, if my theory is correct, that will emerge soon.

thegiddylimit · 31/01/2016 17:51

lorelei9 that is funny but how bizarre is it that they have a live drummer to let you know when something is funny on that show?

lorelei9 · 31/01/2016 19:55

Giddy, that's not their only function! (Or were you kidding?) They're the house band, they're called The Roots and they jam with the musical guests on the show. They were so good with U2! I think they're playing the David Bowie tribute gig in New York. I love the Roots. The drummer was just very quick off the mark with Julianna! I thought Jimmy walking off was the really funny bit.

Cheesymonster · 01/02/2016 09:47

I am only up to series 5 and yesterday watched the episode where Will Gardner... I'm too upset to even type it! I am SO devastated. What a fantastic show this is.

RomComPhooey · 01/02/2016 16:42

Any Lemond Bishop (Mike Colter) fans should check out Marvel series 'Jessica Jones' on Netflix. He has a prominent role and is often in a state of undress. His biceps are huge! You don't get much of a sense of how ripped he is in Good Wife because he's always in a suit.

lorelei9 · 01/02/2016 21:39

I was sick of Bishop but I do think the actor did a good job
It just went on too long for me.

TheDailyWail · 01/02/2016 21:56

Oh dear Cheesy I think we'll all offer hugs in these circumstances.

wickedwaterwitch · 01/02/2016 22:04

Oh no cheesy!

I knew before it happened because I wanted some plot point explained that I thought I'd missed, can't remember what now, so I googled "why did Will in The Good Wife..." And bloody Google AUTOFILLED and told me, sob, I was really pissed off!!

wickedwaterwitch · 01/02/2016 22:05

So never ever Google if you don't want spoilers. I knew about 5 eps before it happened dammit!

lorelei9 · 01/02/2016 22:08

IT was on the home page of the Guardian the day after it aired in the US. Well, not the character name but the fact someone had.

I thought that was wrong but...I was glad to know because it was too big a shock to go without warning. Also quite a dull episode till that happened tbh so I might have tuned out if I didn't know.
