Maybe there are personal reasons for GG dropping the AT, it looks like they're getting rather too close, maybe one of their partners has said something; understandable because as Turdecken says it is the 'foreplay' dance Xmas Wink

That could be the reason why some dances are more restrained than before. The couples are worried about their long term relationships.

SheHasAWildHeart · 09/12/2015 11:53

Georgia's boyfriend is there every week and very supportive of her. G&G did the rumba together and that's more 'close' than AT. It probably is because of an injury.

morningtoncrescent62 · 09/12/2015 14:39

Looking forward to Anita & Gleb's foxtrot - I like her better in traditional ballroom. And I usually like American smooths, but I do hope K&K go for elegance this time, and not another cheeky Eastenders knees-up version.

Thanks for the direction to Laila & Anton's rumba, yes, that was what I was thinking of. Very sweet. I didn't watch the series DVO was in (I'd reached the limits of my tolerance of doddery Bruce). I've just watched her charleston, and it didn't do anything for me. I like my charlestons cheeky and exuberant, like Chris and Ola, and that's not really DVO's style.

I miss the lindy hop. I thought it was fun to watch the years they had it.

LemonBreeland · 09/12/2015 16:02

Just watched Laila and Anotns rumba. i had completely forgotten it. It brought tears to my eyes how seet Anton was.

TurduckenForDinner · 09/12/2015 16:21

This is a little Blush but I really like Runaway by the Corrs, not so much their other stuff which tends to be a bit samey.

MeolsCop · 09/12/2015 18:48

To strike a note of total irrelevance, is it just me that keeps getting distracted by the glittery bird feeders hanging in the background of ITT? Grin

I'm watching the Cliftons demonstrating the rumba and am Shock at the height of the heels on Karen's shoes. I couldn't even walk in those, let alone dance!

Sparklingbrook · 09/12/2015 18:49

Not keen on Zoe's skirt. Not sure if it's the pattern but it makes her look a funny shape.

TurduckenForDinner · 09/12/2015 18:54

I was just thinking the other day that it's much tougher on the Strictly women than the men as they have to wear a different dress every time they appear and the male judges wear the same suit. It's even tougher for Zoe though, she has 5 appearances a week for the whole series.

GlitteryRollers · 09/12/2015 18:56

Someone on DS insinuated that Georgia and Giovanni will get together when the show is over. They claimed the crew are all talking about it backstage. Wouldn't surprise me at all.

Kevin has a had a good partner every year since he joined, he must be due a duffer/older lady next year? Karen on the other hand is due a ringer, she reached the final with Mark last year but he wasn't a natural dancer and always looked a bit clunky.

digerd · 09/12/2015 20:03

Ian was critical of Georgia's Cha cha and said she failed to straighten her knees completely with every step. Her dress will be short and show her faulty leg work.

He also critised Kelly's shoulder rising up which shortens her neck.

He loved Jay's pointed feet and graceful balletic arms.

His favourite dances he is looking forward to seeing on Saturday are the Viennese Waltzes.

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 09/12/2015 20:10

Could someone explain what a "show dance" is and how it is different from, um, a regular dance?

Strictlyobsessed · 09/12/2015 20:22

I think they can put whatever they want in it , for example lifts and change styles a bit too and not be criticised for it.

digerd · 09/12/2015 20:38

A show dance is similar to a "Free Style" dance. Anything goes.
I am hoping Jay wil do a fab contemporary lyrical dance.

ppeatfruit · 09/12/2015 21:00

Meolscop Iam shocked at the height of ALL of the shoes worn by the women on Strictly, they'll have bad backs and bunions in a few years mark my words (old gimmer emojji!!)

Though occasionally Zoe wears medium height heels. I noticed some pretty silvery ones last week.

I reckon a "Show" dance is as it says "A Show Off Dance" Usually OTT IMO.

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 09/12/2015 21:03

Thanks Smile

MrsJamin · 09/12/2015 21:28

GlitteryRollers, I just assumed that Kevin has had good partners every series because the producers would love him to win!

GlitteryRollers · 09/12/2015 22:30

I personally like Kevin, but a lot of people really dislike him, Karen and Joanne. I think there's a feeling that they are taking over the whole show. He is badly overdue a duffer though.

ExitPursuedByABear · 10/12/2015 00:13

Show dance is like dressage to music.

Hth

MrsJamin · 10/12/2015 06:48

I like the cliftons, much rather them over the men-stealing sour face types like kristina and aliona.

millimat · 10/12/2015 06:56

I'd forgotten about the lindyhop. Live that dance. What are your tho 3 dance styled you like to watch? Mine are:
Charleston
Quickstep
Jive
(I think!!)

millimat · 10/12/2015 06:57

Early morning - excuse typos Blush

ppeatfruit · 10/12/2015 09:08

I like most styles actually millimat IMO it's the WAY that they're danced that's more important.

Ref. the Cliftons I like them because they' so english!! and Joanne is an amazing teacher of the dances as well as dancer.

Though it takes two to be involved in stealing anyone. MrsJamin

MrsJamin · 10/12/2015 13:08

Oh I don't disagree on that! Just think the professionals should be.... Professional! The line has been crossed so many times on strictly, the producers must dread it happening every season.

ppeatfruit · 10/12/2015 15:34

Though to be fair the contestants and professionals are involved in probably the 'closest' form of human interaction -saving sex - and if you both fancy your partner just a bit, it must take one hell of a strong personality to stop the fancying becoming full on, and not to 'give in'.

AnyoneButSanta · 10/12/2015 16:16

Oy, leave Aliona out of it! No proof whatsoever she's ever laid a finger on anyone except her husband. Not prepared to defend Kristyna's morals except to say that they're not as poor as Ben and Vincent's.
