Agree about the booing I don't like it either it needs to stop . We might not always agree with what is being said but criticism is needed and it means the judges cannot say anything, also some "celebs" need a wee bit of criticism!

Agree with pp who suggested that they do a very jive based showdance instead!

I can't imagine what Anton and Katie will do in the final other than three, entirely ballroom based dances. Yawn. I did like her Tango from very early on (was it the first week?) so perhaps they'll do that.

Very sad not to see what Gleb would have done for a showdance but his choreography did ruin Anita's chances last night. What a shame for her as she totally deserved to get to the final.

I thought Anita going out was the right choice, though she and Katie are quite a lot weaker than the rest. She's very athletic so was able to do all the tricksy lifts that Gleb put in, but I don't think she was a very musical dancer. I also didn't like Gleb's choreography at all. All contempowaft (love that phrase of Monkseal's) and lacking dance content.

Katie on the other hand does have a lot of musicality and when a dance suits her own style is a very elegant dancer. I prefer ballroom to latin on the whole, and within latin mostly like the slower dances - rumba and AT - and these are the ones that Katie has been able to make her own. That's personal taste, though - I'm just not that bothered about the jive and the charleston as dances.

I had a look at Sophie and Brendan's showdance again the other day, and remembered how good it was. Very Fred and Ginger in style - classic and elegant and musical - compared to (from the same year) Abbie and Aliaz's horrible disco-contempo overblown effort.

I also like Len's comments - you can tell the man really, really knows about ballroom/latin dancing. When people allow him to actually talk about the technique he's so perceptive.

Katie is the most beautiful - I guess that's why she went through...but she's not a very good dancer compared to all the others in the semis. Anita should have gone through. Terrible shame.

Seriously, Katie did not go through based on looks. If that were the criterion then, to be honest, Kellie wouldn't be there. It was the right decision based on the DO performances.

I think Jay would get 40 in the final for his jive if it goes OK, and he may well do so for his showdance as Aliona is good at choreographing those to suit her celebrity's strengths.

Kellie is super hot too! But anyway. I still think it's a shame Katie is there as she is going to be shown up in the final if they give her anything slightly energetic to do.

I had great hopes for Katie when she first started, but to my mind she hasn't really improved at all.

But I developed a girl crush on Anita and am so sad that she has gone. Xmas Sad

I think it would have been fine for the judges NOT to have solely judged on the basis of the DO dance this week, since the couples had to perform two dances. It would have been fairer if they danced both their dances in the dance off or else been judged on the DO and their two previous performances on the night. Otherwise there's no point making them perform two dances. In Katie's case, she was able to do a terrible dance and still get through by doing her better dance in the dance-off, a great tactic if you're not such a good dancer. The couples should have to do their worst scored dance in the dance-off so the judges can properly judge on improvement.

I don't think Anita would/should win overall but something was definitely going on with the judges the whole series. She was under-marked and harshly commented on throughout.

I don't know who I would like to win. I think Kellie because she has shown the most absolute joy throughout - she seems to have genuinely had a ball.

I don't really like Jay or Georgia as they seem so bland.

It would have been Anita because she started with nothing.

I really hope Len doesn't leave any time soon. He's the only one of the judges that knows the proper technique inside out. None of the others have competed in or taught Ballroom/Latin and don't get me started on some of Darcey's comments about posture/technique that are just plain wrong!

The panel would be far better balanced with two people from a Ballroom/Latin background and two from the theatrical sphere.

I know ITT goes over the finer detail of the dances but I can't ever watch it....so I'd like some specific dance tutorial programmes with the pros from SCD showing us how a good paso, jive etc should look. I also think they are missing a trick not getting people to vote for the dance they would like to see again and maybe even a best of show gets carried away

I love SCD, should be on all year round I say Grin

I am very sorry to see Anita go. I think she has done so well. I really think Gleb has brought something new to choreography on Strictly. His preening is irritating but actually in that (under marked) paso it was all about Anita. I was looking forward to seeing it in the final. I actually enjoyed their high energy salsa - they get stuck with some bloody awful music and he did a dance that worked. Much respect to Anita for keeping up. But sadly I knew Len would hate it.

Did anyone notice Giovanni picking up Anita right at the end. I didn't like him at first but he has really grown on me and he dies both Latin and Ballroom so well. I hope all the new pros are back next year.
